Today I’m so glad that Cheung Ka Long won the 2024 Paris Olympic again since last 2020 Tokyo Olympic. Proud of you and hero of Hong Kong
Edgar Cheung is the guy to watch, his calmness on the piste is his best asset. Cool head = better ability to think = better shot at winning. I watched him from Australia, I remember seeing images of HK locals watching in the shopping centre and absolutely losing it with joy.
When Cheung Ka Long got into the Final, at that time I believed he got a chance to win the Gold medal and he really did!! It's a miracle and an amazing journey.

Only recently found this video. In a season where little ol' us expected a Gold in cycling, we were all stunned when news reported Cheung in the Men's Foil Final. My family watched the match livestream and all screamed seeing the caption that read: "Cheung Ka Long wins Olympic Gold in Men's Individual Foil." The wait is over, our second gold.
25 years ago, Lee Lai Shan won the Women's Sailboard Gold in Atlanta, and became the idol of an entire generation. Now, Cheung is hailed the same way for today's generation. Not only that, his historic gold fired up our entire roster at the Olympics, who went on to score five more medals- Our most successful Games in history. All of us completely lost our minds; we were so proud and excited for our future athletes.
We've immortalized this moment. It was the best night we've had in years!
You should also be excited for future athletes of your mainland compatriots.
I can still remember how exciting and touching it is.

That Italian player and walked on the stage like he will win the march for sure. He and his coach keeps yelling and celebraing on every play. When he knew the strength of his opponent and he thought he might lose the game, then, he pretend to get injury and change the blade. It was all in his plan because he thought what he did would changed the momentum and empty his opponent's mind while he was waiting. 😂😂😂😂

I'm a fencing newbie here trying to learn, can anyone tell me what happened at 19:30? It looked to me like Garozzo went for an attack which Cheung parried, then Cheung hit Garozzo, disengaged, then hit again? Why didn't the point go to him as soon as he landed his first hit?
Bc cheung already tried to hit garozzo ,then tried to hit him again.but Cheung didn’t hit Garozzo’s foil after he tried to hit Garozzo the
first time.When the attacker tries to hit the defender but fails then priority goes to the defender.Therefore the point goes to Garozzo.

What are the differences among SABRE , FOIL AND EPEÉ fencing??? Can anyone explain briefly to me ???
the body parts where hits count and the weapons are different, those are the most obvious differences
there are quite a few easy to follow videos, just look up "the rules of fencing" on youtube and youll find some solid explanations. but if you mean really brief the person above me summed it up basically.
Hello!!! I believe that there are better and more in depth guides about this online, but I’m pretty sure that épée is the only one where the entire body can be touched. Foil and Sabre can only target the upper body. Foil and épée both strike from the tip, while sabre strikes from the side of the blade. I am not sure but it seems like sabre fights are generally the fastest, and épée the slowest. If anyone here is a fencing expert please explain this further or correct me!!! I would also love to learn more!
Ah as one of my friends pointed out, there is also a difference in the blades. All three blades have different grips. Foil blades tend to be the lightest, épée the heaviest, and sabre the only one with a curved blade. Hope this helps!
@@bellahu5331 correct ✅ additionally, foil target area is Sabre’s minus the arms and head. Sabre and foil have priority, meaning only one can get the touch when 2 lights show, but epee doesn’t have priority, so double touches exist.

Italian gave a grave accusation without any evidence to support it. It sounds like they are racist to Asians and not willing to admit Cheung is the better player that day. Worse still, Italians defamating Cheung as a Theft. Haha talking about theft, can someone tell me where are the Mafia hiding? Anyway. Let's talk back about the referees. Malaysia, the United States, and many countries in the world have a large group of Chinese/ Asian communities, so they are not eligible to be referees either? Despite they're renowned for their reputation, just solely for their race? Why doesn't Italy speak for their opponent in the quarterfinal when the referee comes from Slovenia? Because Italy won! Italy and Slovenia are not neighbours suddenly? The funny thing is that the Host, France, is also a neighbour of Italy. However, no Hong Kong people would criticise of the professionalism of the referees and the Olympics like that.
