Super dope explanation ... love the detail everything you were doing and th reason ... also the very important part that not alot of people who are aware of is the stress the port will have you dont use your "tie down" method to prevent stress on that ports .... thats the last thing you on your very expense camera to go wrong ... extremely costly mistake if you dont secure them and the break or malfunction
I really appreciate the vide however, why does everyone leave out some very very very important info: when you’re tethered, can you shoot with live view on the camera? Can the computer see a live view? Otherwise, how can you frame the shot? I know you can look through the viewfinder but what if you’re shooting an overhead shot looking down and you have your camera suspended from a C stand. How can you frame your shot? Is there no life view available when you are tethered??????
I really hope they see this, or if anyone with knowledge of it know, but What flash is he using? I know he has two that communicate with the transmitter on the camera but what is he usingm
Looks good, I have tried it. but my studio strobes are not working while shooting tethered can u please explain. I m using prolinchrom 23 studio strobes. is there any setting needed in capture one software ?? Please Reply...
I'm a little unsure as to why you have both the hdmi and the usb connection. I'm more familiar with just the usb to tether. Can you briefly explain why both? Thanks
He was just showing off. I don't think that you can control your camera thru hdmi of tele, the main purpose of hdmi out is to have a better/larger view of the camera info display playback etc. not control. The usb gives control over camera thru pc and Lr. No offense but thats like a given..... both actually. But whats not is what/how it will do/perform. I was hoping to see some cool examples form some pros but I can't see why they thought this was good for help.
he shows both because if you are in a presentation setting then while you look at the laptop and work the camera from there, the audience can view the TV screen. If you did not learn from this video, then you fail to understand what tutorials are designed to do. They are not there to tell you how to use your equipment only to tell you about methods and techniques that can be applied to your equipment. The most important thing to take away from any tutorial is the desire to try it out.
Wrong. No foundation you mentioned. If you connect your dslr to your laptop, laptop shows you a folder that you can see what pictures and videos you have. Now, in this video, you are using some kind of program on PC and you never mention it. Wtf?)
I, what if I'm shooting a tabletop and I need to be able to use the live view from the screen also? This can be done? Thanks for anyone who could help me!!!
Buy the ATG AK1 Un-Tethered System and you DO NOT have to use outdated tethered from camera to Windows laptop. When was the last time you see anyone shooting tethered flash? Why on earth are you using the overpriced pocket wizard when the ATG AK1 Un-Tethered System has built-in wireless radio flash?
This is the best tutorial Ive seen. No fluff. just straight to the info. Thanks guys.

Excellent Video better than these 1-Million- subscriber TH-camrs!
