@@stupid2144 The game industry has a way of stressing things that are cutting edge. The early computers and CD-based systems had many disadvantages to most contemporary consoles, but they could do higher sound quality, and tended to take advantage of this by writing memorable tunes to display . As high sound quality became the norm across all platforms, a lot of game developers stopped caring as much.
Major Rob Hubbard vibes here. And yes, this popped up in my feed as I recently saw the AVGN C64 episode. That little cream/grey box was my youth and I adore it, but I still loved James taking swings at it.
AVGN POWER! This OST is more creative, and sounds better than most modern music lol Normal speed or 1.25. Gauntlet Legends, and Perfect Dark also have some nice tracks
I always love learning about tunes from games I've never played, and once again, AVGN delivers. However, unlike his complete lack of mention of the great tunes in Silver Surfer, he mentions this one outright. Awesome tune!
This video is 50fps (PAL framerate), so to make it identical to the version on AVGN episode (NTSC 60fps), we must choose 1.2x speed, so that's why it sounds a bit more sped up at 1.25x.
That is incorrect speed. The song is composed for PAL C64 and was recorded with PAL C64. Any other speed than 1.0 is incorrect, unless recorded from NTSC version of the game on NTSC machine - and then it would sound exactly like it sounds here.
I make beats with sidtracker64. Sid bass is pure filth. This is a decent track and I liked it. Never played the game or owned an actual c64, yet I really enjoy many c64 tracks. I will sub. Cheers uploading
Just got here from AVGN - checking out this and Netherworld lol
Snap lol
Same!
Me too! This song is fire
Dude same!lol
lel me included so same here. XD
Never though a Commodore 64 game would have such a good soundtrack, thanks AVGN.
A lot of C64 games have stellar tones! The composers for them were geniuses
You might want to check out Commando and R-Type tunes on C64 as well.
Check out anything by Rob Hubbard.
Holy crap, you've missed out.

Present
This something you hear from a Megaman game! :)
AVGN led me to a jewel of a piece.
Incredible piece of music. Steve Rowlands deserves so much more credit for his contribution to the C64 music scene.
damn, if C64 music is this amazing, then ive gotta do some research!!
Check out Rob Hubbard, especially Monty on the Run.
I had the game in my youth and I still hum it to this day.
I had this game and loved it. It also had Molecule Man on the other side of the tape which was another great game
Major Rob Hubbard vibes here.

Really great soundtrack for a old computer.
All praise be to Steve Rowlands! This is some super sick rock and roll right here.

Sick song. Thanks James. 👌
Thanks to AVGN for showing us this awesome track
Bro ...this theme is Fuxking sick
One of the best video game songs of all time!
Here we are, gentlemen of good taste, for some obscure kickass videogame OST. Thanks AVGN
The faster version of the AVGN episode made it sound like it was composed by Tim Follin lol (Silver Surfer, Timetrax)
set it to 1.25 for AVGN speed ;) It's kick ass
Damn what a tune
Amiga and C64 music is usually awesome.
Steve you're working with a C64's sound chip.
How on earth did you do this
Avgn fan here heh
*Sets the speed to 1.25* Ooohhh so good. Thanks James "AVGN" Rolfe.
Play this song on 1,25x
Great music from Steve Rowlands. I loved this game even if it could be a bitch, lol.
It is great music. One of the great c64 composers, Steve Rolands is definitly up there with the likes of Chris Huelsbeck and Martin Galway
Ah yes the intro music from AVGN Episode 198 as well.
Something about this reminds me of the song "Human Rocket" by Devo. I don't know why.
sounds good
this has an 'invasion of the gabber robots' feel to it
Why has this never made it on yo any Top Commodore 64 songs lists?
Thx avgn
I love how this video was suddenly inundated by people coming over from AVGN!
