Thank you so much for this video. Synthetic fertilizers aren't inherently bad, but they can harm the environment if overused. Organic fertilizers are generally more eco-friendly and improve soil health over time. Both have their pros and cons. We always go organic if possible.

My YT channel is one that was inspired by John's channel. I live about a mile away from the Urban Farming Institute in Oakland Park, FL, where John has done at least one video.
John, if you're ever in the area, I'd love to meet you and you're welcome to come by for a garden tour. 🌿

about grasshopers i have experienced this autumn some infestation with grasshopers and they were eating my corn plants that i planted in august (because past years, planting in spring usually results in the polen getting sterile in July)
so i was making night times raids on them i find them easier to catch at night, and collect them and feed them to my chicken, and it became like a fun game or sport to collect as much grasshopers on corn leaves i can everynight, after a couple of weeks, i run out of grasshopers to catch, and the maize plants have grown fully without any damage (after being initially damaged by grasshoppers when they were short)

A healthy soil keeps the your plant healthy and strong. You can use Insect Frass as a organic pest controller

THANKS JOHN to talk about such an important topic! We plant our Tropical Food Forest totally naturally, using plenty of organic matter to build up our Soil Life. It works wonderfully, our rare tropical fruit trees love their organic matter mounds😍 Well developed fungi system and vigorous bacterial life is the most important factors hand in hand with small creatures in our soil, like earth worms, roaches, etc❤️💚🌱

Sri Lanka's experience with it is probably the best reason not to use synthetic fertilizer.

Synthetic fetilizers are not "bad". The plant cannot tell the difference between the two. In fact in containers they are superior both in performance, time, and cost. I use a mixture of pummice, sand, vermiculite and soil/peatmoss. It is difficult to create the microbiology needed to breakdown organic fertilizers efficiently. That being said I would not use synthetic fertilizers in the ground as it would damage the biology of the soil.

@@zazugee The point is they are two different techniques. Niether is "bad". The only "bad" thing is that synthetic fertilizers build up salts that damage soils. Hell if you use too much phosoporus organic or synthetic it will kill your fungus. Aphids are easily controlled by preventing ants from climbing up your stem. Whether you use organic or synthetic fertilizers you will have aphid problems. You just wrote two paragraphs of complete bullshit.
