Music used to be LOUD on stage...It made you play your ass and pumped you to fuck....now everyone playing shitty 1 watt amps with drummers hiding behind plastic boxes and in ear monitors so everything on stage can be as quiet as possible. The BALLS have been ripped out of live music. I used to blame the sound engineers...It was all to make their job easier...this is why I never play venues with a full PA. The only other band I know who took this stance was Assuck
This is the beauty of being human. Witnessing bands in their prime when their energy is so electric you can literally see it. Machine Head is always a solid live performance but seeing a band in their prime doesn't last forever. Enjoy the time you have.
Dude, I remember seeing Machine Head supporting Slayer on a UK tour right before this album (Burn my Eyes) hit and I thought they were gonna be big. They were immense, the OG lineup had so much energy Slayer had to be good to follow them. Ps Slayer were always amazing!🤘
Elements from Desire to Fire in the beginning :D Also, how they end the song abruptly with the palm muted chords sounds SO MUCH better and powerful than what they do nowadays with the prolonged chords. That just washes the energy completely away.
Man, I always get goose pimples when watch this gig and hear the crowd screaming "let freedom ring with the shotgun blast". I have this concert in my video collection and love the whole Dynamo performance. MH fvcking rules forever.
Definitely miss the heavy grooove & hardcore vibes that MH used to have, especially on the first 3 or 4 albums, now they just want to be old school metal it seems. Still great memories, cheers.
Machine Head should watch this vid and learn how Davidian is properly played live.| Not the way the play it the last 6 years. Super fast and the at the end super slow with Rob skipping 1/4 of the words so that the crowd knows when to sing the chorus. Davidian is my fave song and this is the best live version of it in TH-cam
So... they were writing Desire to Fire for pretty much like few years? So it seems, or they just needed a song for The Burning Red. I actually think Robbs vocals are "cooler" right now, but on that show, the phrase "Let Freedom..." in the 1st verse is just the best thing he ever pulled off.
@raul1978 last year we played a show with attitute adjustment in germany. i talked with kontos about his time with machine head. and what he said about rob flynn made me understand why he left the band...
This isn't nu metal. People watch this and think this is nu metal because the singer has braids in his hair. Machine Head is heavy metal. Listen to The Blackening if you need further clarification.
This band was fucking amazing. I mean, back in '95, they were at their top. What a power. I have not followed them afterwards, but the only vids I have seen since are not of that level.
best rendition of this song ever, i dont mind the current line up but they never did this song properly on not one festival if u look at the clips......it somehow doesnt sound right, this sounds like straight of the cd
@raul1978 Agreed. But I remember reading and interview years back with the singer saying the drummer was having problems with injuries playing fast stuff with MH and decided to leave.
@MetalManJads99 well, i'm from '89 and started with metallica and stuff. i like "burn my eyes", but later albums didn't kick me...so i went back to megadeth, and from there to exhorder. in most cases it's the older bands i like. newer metal stuff just doesn't have "it" (for me). cheers
@raul1978 Kontos left the band because he didn't want to tour anymore. Robb Flynn said in numerous interviews back in the day that Kontos was basically lazy, and didn't want to fulfill Touring commitments. He said that was the main reason for the switch at Drummer. McClain does a good job as the Drummer. McClain's the reason the band's still around. They were gonna split in 2003, but Robb said Dave was committed to Machine Head, and them being the heavy band they should be.
@MetalManJads99 you mean, that you get them used to "harder" oder "heavier" music, so that they get a taste of what expects them in the world of metal? getting them into it step by step?
I miss when bands were this hyped performing their music, you can tell they're 100% into what they're doing.
People get older man. I still appreciate every bit of music from bands like this form the 50s and up.
@@dapaintbrush6965 I'm talking about the newer bands, bud
@@foofy14 even so sill good tho

Idk I saw a day to remember a few years back and the energy they gave was fuckin crazy
This is the beauty of being human. Witnessing bands in their prime when their energy is so electric you can literally see it. Machine Head is always a solid live performance but seeing a band in their prime doesn't last forever. Enjoy the time you have.

I was 14, one of the 1st metal albums I ever got was 'Burn My Eyes'. Not much has touched it since. Great album.
Love this version with the intro that a few years later became 'Desire to fire'.
Robb Flynn
Logan Mader
Adam Duce
Chris Kontoss
thats the very first MH line-up :D
Chris Kontos,awesome drummer.
dazlebon Kontos is a fucking beast on the kit! Have you heard the live album with Testament?!
Great drummer and solid dude all around
Desire to fire as the Davidian intro. Quality :) Machine Fucking Head forever man
Elements from Desire to Fire in the beginning :D
Also, how they end the song abruptly with the palm muted chords sounds SO MUCH better and powerful than what they do nowadays with the prolonged chords. That just washes the energy completely away.
Fantastic perfomance of the real Machine head , with Logan Mader and Cris Kontos , it was very good time !!!
I can't fucking BELIEVE they used to write so fresh riffs back in the mid 90s.
I was there in Holland back in these days, I strongly remember how much power this was, awesome. One of the best live bands, in my opinion.
This was my very first festival I visited when I was 14, nothing EVER EVER topped it...man...
now that's what I call ENERGY!
Most of these views are me I suspect. How Flynn kept his voice singing like this only fucks knows
i was there...
Best line up ever glorious days
grand souvenir
@mutantcolors
I believe it was Desire to Fire which they regularly used an an opener to Davidian
Groove metal people. Groove metal. Learn these words, they are the truth.
Man, I always get goose pimples when watch this gig and hear the crowd screaming "let freedom ring with the shotgun blast". I have this concert in my video collection and love the whole Dynamo performance. MH fvcking rules forever.
I think you mean goosebumps.
best performance of davidian. ever!
It's so fun covering this song on drums!!!!
will say this is one of the first songs i taught meself on the guitar. good shit!
Doubt you will see this, but I'm learning now
I hope there will be time machine some day, this is the first place I'm going to!
This is fucking fucking amazing
that opening riff was desire to fire off the burning red
The intro was Desire to Fire's opening theme... which was released 4 years later... This is called recycling.
That riff should've been the intro to Davidian, instead Robb wasted it on Desire to Fire...
yeah dude oldschool Machine Head. awesome :)
LET FREEDOM RING WITH THE SHOTGUN BLAST!!! the most important words at a Machine Head show... That, and circle pit
It doesn't get better than this!
Jesus Christ. Fucking amazing performance here. Thanks for uploading it, the quality isn't that bad!
epic performance of this epic song
Definitely miss the heavy grooove & hardcore vibes that MH used to have, especially on the first 3 or 4 albums, now they just want to be old school metal it seems. Still great memories, cheers.
one word: LEGENDARY!
They were so much heavier here than they are nowadays, this song dosent sound the same or as good anymore. But this is amazing.
I was there!
excuse my english I'm just a french

Yes man...i was there...
Burn My Eyes, what a great metal album.
When I was seventeen, I had my very first beer...And went to dynamo 95.

i miss these old days.......
Machine Head should watch this vid and learn how Davidian is properly played live.|

it does not suck, this song kills!
I was there. It was awesome!
3:03 E P I C !!!
thanx for the upload,i was actually there there that year, best metalfestival ever.
Yes. They use that riff as an intro/warmup before playing the actual gig, Wish they'd still do it personally, but they don't =[
So... they were writing Desire to Fire for pretty much like few years? So it seems, or they just needed a song for The Burning Red.

This band was fucking amazing. I mean, back in '95, they were at their top. What a power. I have not followed them afterwards, but the only vids I have seen since are not of that level.

@raul1978 Agreed. But I remember reading and interview years back with the singer saying the drummer was having problems with injuries playing fast stuff with MH and decided to leave.
wayyy its back up :D
@raul1978 they didnt kicked him out he just leave the band for some family problems and it was Kontos who recomed dave mclacin to join machine head
yeah machine head reminds me of sepultura , didn't nailbomb played in dynamo too in 95 thats cool
all hail machine head
@MetalManJads99 well, i'm from '89 and started with metallica and stuff. i like "burn my eyes", but later albums didn't kick me...so i went back to megadeth, and from there to exhorder. in most cases it's the older bands i like. newer metal stuff just doesn't have "it" (for me).

I was there, heerlijk
wow this was heavy for 1995!
I was there to !
Machine Head was Proto Nu-metal during those days. Their first album helped influence what would become nu metal.
...I was there!!! Awesome fuckin MH - show!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤘😝
@raul1978 Kontos left the band because he didn't want to tour anymore. Robb flynn, Logan Mader, Adam Duce, Chris Kontos
so sick
oldschool
Fucking Love this, real quality
@SteveElMonk86 Negative sir, the last night in Madrid his voice was as brutal and intimidating as always.
BTW, it's actually the second song. The first is a useless intro track called Enter the Phoenix.
This is so crazy shit man!!! Desire to Fire Riff is soooo fucking amazing man!! You Guys rules!!!! Greetz from germany
Lovely baggy trousers. They really made a fashion statement. Nu-metal was born back then, and we had to suffer it.
TRUE.
true!
@MetalManJads99 you mean, that you get them used to "harder" oder "heavier" music, so that they get a taste of what expects them in the world of metal?
getting them into it step by step?
I remember being in the "cast of thousands" and hearing this intro, and going absolutely apeshit...
complete wreckageball, i was there....
They made a tune out of that intro!! desire to fire! but im sure everyone knows that! sweet fucking vid my friend!!
@NETTB1
Most fitting comment ever.
yep
I was there... "let freedom rain with a shotgun blast"... Instamoshpit.
Wasn’t at this show, but I’ve seen them and that was usually the highlight of the show.
badass cro mags windbreaker
They should've kept this drummer, that's for sure.
