    I had the same problem, I was like doing pullups with 24kg like 5-6pullups, Did a bunch of negative muscle ups ant stuff like that. But what really helped me, is to research what muscle work and think of my own training. One thing is that, you need to start with the hardest ant most inportant exercises: High pullups. Take rest about 3-4mins or even 5 mins, and only do them when you see that you're still geting over the bar, if you can't just keep trying. After high pullups take easier ones.

    Paul, you said it's ok to work pullups everyday or when you're not sore. Right now, my max is 13-14 pullups. Or I can do 3-4 sets of 8 with lots of rest in between. Let's say I do pullups one day, and I am not sore the next day but on my first set, I can only do 5 or 6. Does this mean I should rest for that day?

    @RealspitHiphop604 Not really necessary to know how to do twenty! I, last time I checked (month ago), can do about 15 clean pullups. However, with muscle ups I can do 3 or 4 no momentum muscle ups! I found the biggest help in the muscle up, not to sound repetitive, is getting comfortable in a false grip. If you try it without that, the muscle up is difficult near impossible without momentum! Just hang in a false grip for a bit and get comfortable, then try a muscle up. It becomes easy!

I've been training weighted pull up for 3 month. now I can do OAP/OAC each hand with chin above the bar. but my two arm pull up height sees no progress, nipple touch bar is my limit(no kipping). Is there some tips to pull up higher as waist or lower abs touch the bar?

    Hello Fortress,
    I placed 3 sets of Explosive pull ups into my regime, however at the 2nd set. I can't seem to pull to my chest anymore. Do i continue to do it? But it would seem like a normal pull up. How do i get more quality reps counts into my explosive pull ups?

    • @mauriciopicca9798
      @mauriciopicca9798 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      try clusters(many sets low reps). I am doing 5 sets of 2 explosive L pull ups to the abs having a 30-50 sec rest in between to improve my L sit pull ups Hannibal for king style. I recomend you to do the false grip muscle up and slow muscle ups, with a little bit of swing, and then start to do it clean. Thx to that i can do 8 false grip clean muscle ups and 5 clean muscle ups with wrist rotation. You should do from 4-8 sets of low reps of explosive pull ups(2-4 explosive pull ups).

    i am practicing the muscle up for few weeks.
    what should be the first, second and 3th step to success?

  • @justryan2070
    @justryan2070 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    If I am training explosive pullups for the muscle up, should I treat this as strength or endurance work? Meaning should I only practice when fresh and rest 2-5 minutes each set, or practice to and/or past fatigue with 1 minute intervals? Should I do the chest high pullups for sets and then do standard pullups for sets, or combine them both in the same set and continue to do standard when I can't get chest high anymore? Do I take fatigue as a sign that my explosive pullup training is no longer benefiting power/strength if I hit technical failure?

    • @NzSumzN
      @NzSumzN 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Silver Bullet,
      I am having the same issue too. I reach fatigue so fast that after 1 set of explosive pull up. My 2nd set is became normal pull ups. Not sure if i am still training explosively.

    • @justryan2070
      @justryan2070 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess it depends on how many you do. If I do like 8 explosive pullups then the next sets are difficult. But if I do 5 clap pullups then I can continue to do 5 sets of 5 clap pullups. I think you will be able to handle more sets if you keep training and decrease reps so you can increase sets/total volume. I still don't have the strength yet. I actually burned my hand on the pullup bars so I'm taking a break right now. I tried a few just recently and I am struggling with clap pullups now so I've gotten weaker. Lesson learned. Wear gloves if the pullup bar is hot! Metal pullup bar in 100+ degrees = NOOO!!!!!!
