After going through 3 different cutters and finding they were not cutting straight...I finally decided to buy the stamping up cutter, and oh my!!! Have had it for 4 or 5 years now and am totally in love with it. Could not work without it for my cards and journals.
I’ve been using this trimmer for years now. I love the tip for placing the tear n tape under the clear ruler so the numbers are easier to read. Thanks, Karen.
I've had my trimmer for over 20 years and it still works just fine. I use it almost daily. I think it was the third thing I bought when I started this hobby years ago.
OH MAN!!! That tear-n-tape hack is BRILLIANT!!! Thanks. I clean mine all the time, especially the grove, but I actually use the corner of a piece of cardstock. LOL. Seems to get deeper in the grove. Love that our trimmer measurements are so perfect. 6" at the arm edge, 5-1/2" along the arm middle, 1-1/2" on the outside edge, they just thought of everything!
I love my Stampin' Up! trimmer! I have several - one in each room. I have tried (probably) all the trimmers on the market and the SU! one is the trimmer I prefer and always come back to. Thanks for all the handy tips to keep it going for many more years!
This video was good timing, Karen, I had several conversations tonight with cardmaking friends about this particular tool as I am considering purchasing one. I like that it scores as well as cut. Thank you for that. Cute box you started to demonstrate. Do you have a video on that?
SU really gave their trimmer a lot of thought when they put it together. I have 4 different manufacturers’ trimmers and the one I reach for most often is this SU trimmer.
Great tips. The first 12x12” paper will be off since the arm was open a little bit. You aligned it with the arm and the top there was a little gap. Just thought you’d like to know for when you go a crafting and notice measurement will be off. I like to open the arm to my right towards the bottom since I’m a lefty. I like how this trimmer can accommodate lefties and right handed people. I cut pulling the blade down towards me.
I love your idea of cutting 12x12 paper into 6x6 squares. It’s always be a struggle for me to know what designs I have. After cutting them down I am able to put them in a box & easily look through to see which one goes best with my project. Thanks Karen, you made it so much easier!
I’ve had quite a few Stampin up trimmers, not because they broke, but because they are handy with own blades. Perfect. I bought a new one in maY but it wouldn’t cut my cardstock without ripping it! I had to buy new blades, but it’s ok now! Thanks for the tips and tricks xx
For angle cuts Gina K showed how to slide the corner of the card stock in the upper grove and place lower angle in the cutting slot and it does it perfectly instead of trying to get both corner lined up in the groove. I hope I made sense.
I cut my 12x12 based on the size of the journals I usually make. I cut 8.5 by 11 size sheets and use those for my pages. The rest is used for pockets or tags. Thanks for sharing.
Oh! I had no idea what brand this was until I read the comments. I have been to one stamping up party in around 2001. I purchased a few stamps as I didn’t do paper crafting at the time. I may need to find this trimmer! Mine are making the cardstock fuzzy edged. Drives me loopy! I have two, both orange in color. 🤓
Have you tried cleaning the cutting track? Mine does that so Ii clean the fuzzy's out and it seems to help. Also Ive noticed certain brands of paper leave more fuzzed edges aftwr cutting too. Hope that helps.
THIS IS MY Best & FAV Trimmer - I have the original one and the new one, but miss the compartment of the original! Great hacks! Thanks so much...and YES, the score tape trick is super. One thing is found annoying though is that the blades dull so fast - even the titanium ones. So I have a knife stone or you can use emery cloth and sharpen the blades. Seems to work well for awhile. A fine emery board works too - always keep a little emery cloth in the compartment underneath.
Thank you for the useful tips on using this paper trimmer. Marking the score tool with an "s" was brilliant. One basic use of the trimmer is to cut patterned paper and use the lines on the paper to know where to cut so there isn't any white paper showing. However, I am not sure what to line the pattern with on this cutter. I also have a Fiskars trimmer and it has a wire that I line up with the pattern so I know where it will cut. How do you do that with the SU trimmer? Thanks for your help.
I have a few different trimmers- but not a SU one. I am a little confused. Watching the video, I see you going from cutting to scoring- but now changing the blade. How do you do that? Great video, thanks
Just happened upon your video and loved it! What is that cutter and where can I get one please? Thank you for sharing your knowledge and artistry. Sincerely, Sarah Boles
I'm looking for someone to do a video somewhat like this, BUT, with the Tim Holtz Tonic Gillotine(?) style cutter. How to truly measure with it, what U Can & CAN'T do, how to read the markings....
I had the previous one but as we couldn’t find the blades any more, as many of us I had to buy a new one. In France you can find 4 brands of trimmer strictly identical to the SU one but 10€ cheaper so I didn’t buy the new SU one. SU prices have raised too much.
I have a newer trimmer. And rarely use it. The little plastic flip up gets stuck. So frustrating every time you want to open it up to cut the next paper. Not sure how to fix it
You were going so fast I couldn’t figure out how you were scoring. Are there two slides? Did you ever say what brand or name of this paper cutter? If so, I missed it. Please supple . Thanks for sharing.
I purchased Stampin up trimmer a few years ago, can never get it to work properly it just tears the paper or card stock have purchased a trimmer and have hidden this in a cupboard waste of money.
Thank you for all your tips. I especially like the weaving one.🌹

I know how much you use that!!!
Where do you fine blades for your old Stampin up trimmer?
Best trimmer I ever bought!

Love your ideas, thank you.Karen🥰🥰
The frame and box tricks alone made this worth watching. Christmas boxes of sweet treats are now on the agenda! Thank you.

I have used a stampin up trimmer since the old one, and I still learn something. Thank you.
Thank you for showing this. Love it!

Thanks for sharing these tips, Karen!
You are so welcome!
Love my Stampin Up trimmer/scorer! Thank you Karen, always learn so much when you do your technics classes with tips & tricks! Thank you!! ❤
So glad!
This is the best trimmer. I love that you don’t have to open the arm for regular card sizes. The blade lasts a long time too.
Love the ribbon/hanging tip!!
Glad it was helpful!
Karen Thanks for the Great Tips!
You bet!
Useful tips, Karen! Cleaned the track with alcohol water and it removed glue that had hardened!!! Thank you!
Awesome tips! Thank you 😊

I've never tried making a frame, I will now. Thanks Karen. Ruth down under.

Love your box making tip!
Great video. Very informative!
Watching the replay. Thanks for doing this.
Thank you! Great tips! Blessings
That tear-n-tape is a good idea. I always struggle with that measurement.
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing tips. I may have to buy a SU trimmer now!
Thank you for the info. I enjoyed this episode and subscribed.
I found you and I am glad because just learned how to use it. I want to buy one
I purchased a different brand to start as it was less espensive. Then I got a Stampin Up one. Far better!
Oh wow!
Liked the old trimmer that was just before it was heaver and scored better that the new one
that was stopped being produced so SU! had to look for a new one
I just got a stamping up cutter at a thrift store it works great but now I will have to find a demonstrator etc in my area.
My demonstrator lives miles away - find someone u are comfortable with or whose work u like x a good demonstrator will walk u through ev x
I like your tip with the tear tape so you can read the clear ruler better. I have heard that one before.
Glad it was helpful!

I find the blades don’t stay sharp for very long. I’m always replacing them. I keep getting frayed edgings. Please any suggestions. Regards. Gloria
Emery boards (fine) or cloth work well or a knife sharpening stone. I have the same issue, SO ANNOYING, and expensive to replace. Hope this helps

My cutting blade doesn’t stay in the track. Pops off. Any ideas! Birdie
I took a sharpy and marked 30, 45, 60 degrees for angles on my trimmer
I love that tip! Thanks for sharing, Kelle

GREAT tips and tricks video! I haven't purchased the new SU trimmer yet so this is great! Thank you from AZ
I used white nail polish on mine. Instead or tear n tape.
What a great tip! I have never heard of that one.
Add: removable arm for cleaning.
I'm looking for someone to do a video somewhat like this, BUT, with the Tim Holtz Tonic Gillotine(?) style cutter. How to truly measure with it, what U Can & CAN'T do, how to read the markings....
The spellbinders trimmer looks almost exactly the same
Thanks for all the tips. What brand trimmer do you use? New viewer
Thanks for your great tips. 🩷
How did the tape that you took the backing off, not stuck to the board? And the paper?
I think the release paper was only removed on one side (the side adhered to the ruler).
Where can you get this trimmer, are they still made?
Hi! Which trimmer is this, pls? There's no info or link in the description...
I’m thinking of getting the SU trimmer but I’m afraid they will discontinue it and I won’t be able to get the replacement blades
No link for the cutter?
I need explanation as to the best placement of the write strip. Im not sure of the process.
Where can I buy this cutter?

I bought a new trimmer about 2 yrs ago & the clear topping now has air bubbles under it. Why would that be happening?
That's what happened to me last time.
What is the name of the cutter?
You were going so fast I couldn’t figure out how you were scoring. Are there two slides? Did you ever say what brand or name of this paper cutter? If so, I missed it. Please supple . Thanks for sharing.
Contact Karen Titus to purchase your own paper trimmer from Stampin' Up! Yes, it has both a cutting blade and a scoring blade included. 😊
@@jenniferroshto7377 Thanks for the info.

What is the name of that trimmer? You never said
I purchased Stampin up trimmer a few years ago, can never get it to work properly it just tears the paper or card stock have purchased a trimmer and have hidden this in a cupboard waste of money.
What kind of trimmer do you have?
I wish I could find a left handed trimmer - so I Don't have to use it upside down
Hang it on the wall! Great idea! I am going to do this. Thanks!
F Y I - About 4 mins in an annoying crackling & popping starts in your soundtrack. Thanks for the tips!
Tip…look at the camera lens not yourself, it makes it easier for viewers to watch
I have my Stampinup trimmer I bought it over 15 years ago, it's an old one, can't find the blades for it.
Emery boards (fine) or cloth work well or a knife sharpening stone. I have the same issue, SO ANNOYING, and expensive to replace. Hope this helps
@@mapdtuber Thank you
This is a StampinUp paper cutter
too confusing and all over the place.
You are talking too much ……..just go to the point ……..
