take my two cents (as comments are open you are probably want to hear others opinion) your goal of this 'hobby' race was to have nice competiiton, i agree you had all rights to the lane and you payed a high price for not giving him space and your video proofed you know he was there. i can only say, if i would be in your place and when somebody has so much more speed i would let him pass and dont let him ruin race and many hours practice
I can see this point but I can't agree fully. It is racing and I moving out of the way to let someone past is not racing. I really look forward to having dedicated servers and being able to run leagues.
yeah he shoulda used the over run to just drive like 2 car lengths ahead lol. I still don’t think it’s intentional, more like new driver got loose on grass and you happened to be the next pixel away. Seems like he had one hell of a run though that closing speed was crazy and being on grass losing grip probably took him by surprise and probably panicked. Lol just bc u mentioned his name at start (not to call him out), he’s usually average pace but very clean, almost certain I’ve had some of my more enjoyable races against him before without any issues on rf2 and LMU (sounds like same name on both it seems) Surprised at it.
Yeah it was not to call him out, but when he mentioned that it was on me, I used this as an opp to show the actual pov of what happened from all angles and to grow from it. I did not report it on the LMU reporting thing or anything. It is just a case of a driver that needs to be more aware of a door that is closing and to have a plan B. When I kill someone (and I have done for sure) I always apologise. I think his attitude of blaming me also flamed me. If had of said sorry or something like this, it would be a non issue. But I just can't leave it as is because I want to help educate people to make it cleaner for us, them, everyone. The next time I cause something, I will also review it. I am not perfect and can also admit if I screw up LOL.
@@GSSimRacing i don’t think he saw the replay and I’m wondering if you flat out accused him of cheating like you did here before he had a chance to say sorry? i know him from rf2, he’s a very clean driver (like i said avg race pace and below average quali pace- he’d admit the same) and i think he simply made a mistake when he went on the grass. For sure his fault but not worth making a yt video ripping one of the nicer guys in our hobby a new one literally by name but i understand your frustration. If he watched the replay i bet he would’ve accepted responsibility. Actually i know he would have bc he has with me once in the past I’m disappointed in both of you. You, for making a video about literally one of the nicer guys in our hobby who made an honest mistake and then outright refusing to show your pov while essentially providing the explanation “trust me i did everything right” you know better that all povs are important when assigning fault. There a reason sim racing stewards asks as many as possible after all. I don’t have to explain further, you know better and it a bad example to say what you did. Im disappointed in Josh for not realizing his mistake and then his poor attitude towards one of my favorite creators. If he does apologize next time you see him to you I’d feel pretty bad for making this video.
@@GSSimRacing also out of confusion and bc i know he’s a good dude overall and helped me in rf2, If you weren’t trying to call him out then why did you call him out by name in the beginning of your video? Sounds a lot like a personal call out to most people.
@@JMak02 No not personal at all. But I see your point. I have trimmed his name out of the video. A personal call out was not my intention. But I can see how it could come across this way so I have edited his name bit out. Will prob take a while for YT to render the edit.
Nice. It was a very tight race in terms of pace. I think the match making is good for sure, I just wish people would take an extra half second to think before sending it somewhere the car doesn't go. I was praying that no one was going to collect me in the processes of spinning after the punt. Bad enough me being killed....id hate for it to have taken innocents with me.
@@GSSimRacing I made the same promise to myself since I moved up to silver SR to not participate in Beginner races anymore, due to the same reasons. Got tired of being taken out when you yourself race clean and well. Lets call it "racing etiquette" tends to go out the window. Lets stay clear of the rookie races haha! Cheers brother. See you on track
It was definitely the other driver‘s fault. He only could stick his nose alongside your back wheel by going off track. He should have tried it on the other side with some of your slip stream in between. No race driver would have decided to clear the ideal line for the car following you.
Yeah I agree. Although many believe that this is my fault or are apportioning some blame to me. It's disheartening that even when something is analysed in detail and objectively, people still feel that the leading car should move and give space. But again, this seems to be opinion among some public lobby players who have (generally) a very different view of racing etiquitte).
@@GSSimRacing I am unfortunately still at Rooky level and it is super hard to get a proper safety rating on that level as there are countless people who just drive as if their lives depend on it. You train hard to qualify amongst the first two rows of the grid and then someone is just shooting you out of the race at first lap. On top of receiving a bad rating for the worse position you also get a bad rating for the collision you did not cause. It is super frustrating and only the awesomeness of the drive feel keeps me racing at LMU. If I have people who qualified better than me I always have respect for their performance and it would just be disrespectful to start a dive at T1. I only attack them when I feel that I can go quicker over the full trajectory of the race. I hope that, as soon as all the teething problems of LMU are sorted out, it will be implemented at LFM. Then I am sure, racing will become more professional on each level.
A childish manoeuvre. I’ve got to say, Garry, it’s the calling out of poor race craft that makes your channel so different. My racing has directly improved since watching…mainly because I don’t want to feature in one of your investigative hit-pieces! Excellent stuff. 👍👏
LOL. Thank you. Yep race craft is the most important thing and keeping the car safe by not risking very low probability overtakes. The next time I cause a crash that is my fault, I promise to review it. I am not perfect and on occasion can cause something. So just to give balance and I am not seen to be flaming my opponents etc.
Bonkers to think this is entirely the other guys fault. And have the audacity to school someone like this openly when you have to shoulder some of the blame in this. You live in a bubble mate.
The other outcome is leaving a cars width. "No other outcome" lol. This is a learning opportunity for you too. Poor decision making from red car, terrible sportsmanship in this form of racing for you. There's acres of space to your left.
@GSSimRacing that's an arrogant position for someone looking to educate sim racers. The red car created an environment where an accident could take place, you caused the accident. You did not fully occupy the outside nor did you give space with all the room available left. He shouldn't have made such a risky move but by no means would any sensible sim racer in your position squeeze him out there, that is what caused the accident. The vast majority of experienced drivers will agree that there is fault on both sides.
Honestly the more i look at this the more i get Alonso & stroll vibes from the us GP. Looks like black car unnecessarily Goes to the right, straighens for a split second the goes to the right again. Can we see your onboard to see your wheel input to verify you didn’t move twice pls? Otherwise impossible to tell, seems both drivers can’t drive together.
Jump to 4:48 and tell me what you think the correct thing is to do? You'll see over the next few seconds that he takes to the grass to get along side, ie - the door is closed, there is no safe spot. My line was kept dead straight the entire time towards the left. I made no steering inputs whatsoever. I was purposeful to do this. If you pause at 5:05 you can see he turns out to the left into me and the mayhem begins. You are looking for small reasons to blame the black car I think. But let's be honest, there is none. It is poor driving from red. It was a bad decision by me to expect clean racing in an open lobby. In future I will move sooner and block completely. It seems to be the safest way in open lobbies. In a league race this would never ever have happened. I'd bet my house on it.
