Happy 2 c your trip to Bangladesh. From the blog, it seems culture,language and vegetables name are more similar to eastern part of India. Example, in eastern part we call Samosa as Singhada however in rest of the India it is known as Samosa. Wish I will visit there one day😊😊😊

Karwan bazar was established by a marwari trader Karwan Singh, during mughal era. Marwari community may be linked to rajshthan or nearby area I guess.

Wrong. Traders from all across south asia used to come here with their Karwans (Caravans) to trade. Hence the name, Karwan Bazar. There was no guy called Karwan Singh.

What you are referring to is an urban legend incepted only after people eventually started pronouncing the name Kawran instead of Karwan. And yes, It's Karwan Bazar, not Kawran Bazar. Btw, I teach history so I don't need to google it and Wikipedia is definitely not a reliable source.
Marwari are from rajasthan and are very good traders and businessman. Thanks for telling the story about the Marwari trader who founded this bazaar.

let me honestly share my views here, none of the TH-camrs says extreme wrong about any country. The simple reason they don't want to offend the locals and loss of subscribers. I had been to Dhaka and nearby cities -17 times as i work in IT sector. Dhaka has extremely rich people and same way poverty at the lowest.. the highest density of population in Dhaka compare to any other city. Upon interactions with educated folks in the office and outside,the contribution of the Indian Govt in 1971 is not well recognized..Although they don't like Pakistani, due to the same religion they even support them for many causes.I was expecting at least sober debates from educated folks in offices but more than 50% were most of the time negative on India's contribution related to the 1971 war.

"the contribution of the Indian Govt in 1971 is not well recognized" .. in a way majority of lndian people are responsible for this. & it's certainly not right to live in a past & screaming out loud who helped whom. .. have you ever asked anyone in Bangladesh about Russia's contribution in 1971 during Bangladesh Pakstan liberation war? .. I could bet you 50% Bangladeshi mostly from rural areas aged between 25 to 35 mostly the generation before internet & smart phone & when there was no electricity supply in rural areas don't even know that Russia or lndia helped Bangladesh in 1971. now, ask Russians. .. 80% of the regular Russians don't even know that they were involved in Bangladesh, Vietnam or even in Afghanistan conflict. to my surprise I met several Russians who literally reminded me about Bangladesh Russia ties. Ask any Americans whether they know that USA was involved in 1971. 0% Americans know about their involvement. .. last but not least India helped Bangladesh in 1971?? .. if so, it'd be more justified for Bangladeshi's to claim that they helped lndia to become independent from the britishers in 1947 ..don't you think?

Apple, Orange, Grapes, Pomegranates and some other fruits are imported from foreign countries(India, China, Bhutan, Pakistan etc.) and are expensive in Bangladesh. But local fruits are quite cheap like Guava, Mangoes, Papaya, Jackfruits, Lychees. This is not the season for Tomatoes, so it also expensive, but during season tomatoes become dart cheap in Bangladesh. Vegetables are cheap in Bangladesh, outside Dhaka, vegetables are dart cheap.

That's exactly what I was telling to one of Friend. Petrol price in Bangladesh is 114 taka and in West Bengal is 106 rupees equivalent to 124 taka. Soybean oil price in India 175 rupees and in Bangladesh 195 taka with is equivalent to 166 taka. . Much cheaper than India. Seasonal fruits and vegetables in India it's always gonna be cheaper than a small country like Bangladesh. So whats all the fuss about 🤔🙈
