      Surviving a relegation fight or mid table next season is surely their goal. League 1 is a big step up. It's only gonna get harder, but I do hope they push on and get promotion number three. 2 years from now they could be a new Premier League side. Stranger things have happened. I genuinely wish them success next season. It's a fascinating and wholesome journey and the fans definitely deserve to see Wrexham thriving once again. Good luck 🤞

    I live in Costa Rica, Central America, and I have an original Wrexham shirt, the black one. I loved that shirt when I saw it in season 2 of "Welcome to Wrexham".
    It turns out that my youngest daughter traveled to London at the beginning of the year, and to Edinburgh, so, as she knows that I am a Wrexham fan, she arranged for a person from Wales to buy my shirt, and had it delivered to Edinburgh.
    Obviously, I wore my shirt on the day of promotion to League 1.

    I moved up to North Wales 7 years ago and something people don't realise is the divide between North and South Wales. Wrexham are the only team in North Wales and Rugby is far more of a South Wales obsession, North is football mad. All of North Wales will support Wrexham now and go to matches.

    I think a part that a lot of people are not talking about is the exposure that wrexham get can attract players that they cant afford ideally. But with all the attention there will surely be players willing to take a pay cut to play for wrexham. Especially when they eventually go to the championship. It's a win-win for both parties. More eyes for said player to build their brand and potential big earnings for wrexham in transfers if they overperform.

    My understanding is that the actual profits from the documentary are going into Rob/Ryan's production companies, and not directly to Wrexham. However, Rob and Ryan (via some commercial entity) are continuing to provide substantial loans to Wrexham, with no apparent repayment schedule in place. So the documentary is underwriting Wrexham indirectly.
    Meanwhile, the indirect financial benefits of the documentary to Wrexham AFC are - obviously - massive.

    I think the Welcome to Wrexham contract is with Ryan and Rob, not with Wrexham AFC themselves.
    That means that when they say how much money they are putting into the club, they aren't mentioning how much of that is Disney money.
    But also: the Disney money can't last forever. No-one's going to watch Season 15 about a mid-table Championship team. They need to build something that is sustainable without Disney's help. And, while Rob and Ryan are rich, they're not rich in the way the Qatari royals are at Paris Saint-Germain to bankroll a top-level club entirely out of pocket indefinitely.
    So: perhaps they can make the money back that they are putting into the club from Disney, rather than needing to take money out of the club at some point to repay what they put in. But once there's a 30K stadium and a Championship team, then it needs to pay for itself.

    The stadium aspirations spoken about on this show and by Rob may be realistic for the ownership in their minds, but in reality not doable. In America, The NFL stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin (Lambeau Field) was built up at the original site from a 32,000 seat bowl to eventually, over decades, seat more than 80,000. Knowing the nightmare of getting building permits in the UK, it doesn't seem possible to replicate that knowing how much easier it is to get those permits in the states.

    Ifoloow is not even close to being a small fee considering you can only watch that specific club games and not the all league, and not even all the games.
    that being said, as much as I understood, ESPN is going to start some kind of deal for the next season for broadcasting rights for efl...
    as much as the IFollow broadcasters are the best when it comes to Wrexham, Espn as much better quality video and it's not 30 seconds behind live.

      ESPN will have games , you’re right. But it’ll only be a selected games. If you want to watch all of them , it’s I follow you need - unless the games are picked for broadcast on ESPN- which a lot of Wrexham’s will be - in that case , you need both 🫣😂

      that being said, I'm aware on how it was last season, but I read somewhere that they might change the rights so ESPN be able to stream all the games of efl and with that I don't see than giving up on any wrexham games.
      also at the same time, ESPN is needed anyway for the cup and thropy games, since they not on ifollow.
      one last thing, I think apple tv is also getting some kind of deal for broadcasting like they have with the mls, not sure if the rumer is true or not. either way, we would need to wait and see prob around july we would know for sure

  • @SofiaChambers
    @SofiaChambers 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    the iFollow subscription fee for outside the UK isn't exactly small. It's about $32 US per month. In contrast that's double the price of MLS, which is $15 per month on Apple TV. Although if you're a season ticket holder for any MLS team you get MLS Apple pass for free. I would also add that Wrexham team merch is a bargain in the USA, where a primary team jersey costs about $48. Compare that to an MLS team jersey at $194. Or an official Tottenham jersey in the USA for $95. Do Americans really pay nearly $200 (£153) for MLS gear? Yes they do, because they're bonkers. Wrexham could likely increase the cost of their merchandise outside the UK and make substantially more money.

    Closest thing to that price here in the states is the NFL package at +$200 and you get a lot more content for that price.

    Wrexhams’ biggest-ever crowd, in the days when it was mostly standing, was 34,445 against Manchester United in the 1957 FA Cup. I can’t really see how a 50,000 stadium would work, 25-30K maybe. Even raising the capacity to 16500 is slightly problematical for environmental reasons - authorised capacity is, I think, about 600 less than what they’re planning to build, because the towns’ sewerage system isn’t thought to have the capacity to handle the toilets!

    • @sinep8008
      @sinep8008 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      50,000 stadiums will work as long as they keep having success. The higher the league, the more people want to see it. This is true based on how much the championship teams get paid compared to League 1 teams. It's not just a small jump in revenue like it is for League 2 going to League 1. They currently have 12,500 seats and are still having massive issues with people not being able to get tickets. They're getting hundreds of ticket sales for people that are overseas. Unfortunately for the team, they will need to increase the seating significantly if they want to compete with the top championship teams. What sucks about that is they will run into issues like you said with the sewerage system that will slow them down.

    • @mcraw4d
      @mcraw4d 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Very good point. They could offset some of that with grey water cisterns that filter the water for use on the field or recycle back into toilets. Waterless urinals can also drastically reduce water/sewage needs as well. Sill don’t think that would be enough to sustain a stadium bigger than 20K.

    • @Red_Snappa
      @Red_Snappa 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Those sewage limitations you refer to have now been lifted and the full capacity has been given the green light. So it will be up to 16,500 WHEN/IF it actually gets started....which no-one seems to know the answer to (outside of the club of course)!
