I honestly think that GTA VCS is the combination of all GTA games. The gang hate from GTA 3, The business and the drug aspect of GTA VC and the takeover concept of GTA SA. That makes this game very special.

When I was a kid, I remember going to the game store to buy GTA San Andreas for PS2. Unfortunately, it wasn't available so i saw GTA Vice City Stories on the shelf and I bought it. I fell in love with the game story, soundtracks, vibe...
VCS was so good. I mean, it was the first GTA game where they deliver the money straight to you instead of going all over the map to get it like in Vice City and San Andreas, I mean going all the way to San Fierro to get your cut was annoying.
Nowadays people from all over the world, even my country India included are talking about this masterpiece. Here in India, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5 and Xbox consoles and mostly PC are the main devices to play video games. Android phones top the list. The game is perfect. I played all missions. Everything was perfect. Pedestrians were unique skin models. No cloning was there unlike previous games. Victor Vance was introduced as a lethargic character in GTA vice City but in Stories , he was a perfectly fit Soldier serving USA. He had moral character. His story was deep. Back in 2006 no one heard this game. Rockstar Games always try to show 1986 VC but 1984 VC was also very unique and amazing. Ammunation sold Heavy weapons. Missions were interesting and beach patrol missions were too good. I completed them all to swim infinitely. Graphics were 3D. The game was more detailed than GTA VC. Tommy Vercetti had charisma, charm and witty mind Victor Vance had morals, human beliefs and realism. So bad that Rockstar Games killed him in the intro and everyone thought it was Pete Vance. But Rockstar themselves confirmed and told that Victor Vance was killed. His walking style was so lethargic. The guy can break necks and skulls by his military training.

I've just finished GTA VCS 100% for the second time (first was on 2006) and even though there are some glitches and freaked up commands and mechanics, I still love it, Vice City and VCS will always be the best

I hope we can make Lucia and Jason fat, skinny and buff. Fat cj was the funniest gta protagonist in my POV so I know fat Lucia would be super hilarious
Great game. But i remember it having very many bugs. Cars would dissapear after you saved them in your garage. Fbi cars would turn from black to white. Sometimes cars would hang upside down on some bridge. The game felt a little rushed in a way
Plus to add, whatever car you brought to the mission marker will disappear after the mission cutscene, so you'll be forced to use whatever's nearest it
I don't claim my opinion as fact but I feel like Vic didn't die in VC, it was Pete, his brother with Lance at the deal Tommy got ambushed in. It just doesn't make sense for the retcon to bring Vic back. I do like the Empire business battles, it felt very arcade-like. I always take the prostitution for the car alone.
This is one of my favorite games in the 3D universe. I played this everyday after college the first month it came out. I almost didn't get the game because I didn't have ID. Luckily my college ID got me approved.

I played on Emulator PS2 on PC with a controler i haved fun when i was playing. i completed this game on 96% before my controler broke completed sadly.
I remember playing this game on PSP back when it first came out in 2006. I wasn't expecting much given that it was a PSP game & no one else I knew had even heard of it. But it turned out to be one of the best GTA games that I have played. With a memorable story, characters, hilarious satire & immersive open world. Also an empire building feature that kept me engaged in the game for many countless hours.
I still play it today, absolutely love the game... both vc and vcs will always be my favorite gta games due to era, music, story, characters and the city itself...
*VCS is relatable to IV , it's kinda more gritty then VC ,the plot is serious , tragic just as the main line of IV , the perspective is reminding of Niko's as both of those Anti hero's are Soldiers, the soundtrack's adds to the whole atmosphere*

In 2022 I finally found out how I can play this on PC by emulator. I was very excited to be back in Liberty City and especially Vice City. I have to admit that I enjoyed playing LCS and VCS more than some of the modern titles.
I'm not sure if I'll get through to anyone here with this, but VCS was packed with Opie & Anthony references and voice work This was easily my favorite game on PSP, though LCS was great too- and also later Chinatown Wars
Actually whole gameplay of gta vice City stories is far better than gta vice City and victor vance would even swim in water but whole storyline of gta vice city is much better than gta vice City stories.
I learned my business strategy for saints row 2 thanks to this game. It’s not enough to eliminate every gang that’s just makes life easier you gotta buy businesses and use them to fund your war lol
I think the main reason why it is underrated is the fact that it was made first and foremost for the PSP and it came out when the Xbox 360 already existsed. In an ideal world this game would have came out for PC and Xbox 360 first and then a while later for PS3 once it came out. Of course with much better graphics than what we ended up with.
Since people talking about LCS and VCS now i have a 'what if' question. What if the GTA San Andreas have the prequel too like the LCS and VCS ? Im always wondering the character is must be between sweet or ryder and what about the plot ?
I believe that GTA 6 will be the gta game and game of of all time so powerful that we can see an epic story, gang wars, realism, physics, criminal empire and love story. So powerful it could beat GTA San Andreas
VCS is honestly a top 3 gta game for me. It's just that good. Some of that is probably nostalgia as i got the ps2 version when it launched, but it honestly is the most fun game of the 3d era imo to replay next to III and VC.
Its weird that in my country Indonesia, There are only Three GTA game avalaible for the PS2 at that time, which is the VCS, LCS and San Andreas, I swear to GOD, i didn't even knew that GTA III and Vice City was existed until i touched the internet in 2009, when i search for the game on my local game store, i shit you not i couldn't find one PS2 Disc for the Vice city and GTA III

VCS is the best non main game to the series. If they did this for the main game it would've been amazing. Too bad they failed to do that but with GTA 6 they can fix the problem and add in more.
The PPSSPP emulator is another fantastic way to play. I never once had a problem playing it on my tablet with an Xbox controller, and I was able to get 100% completion
VCS is severely underrated, and is way better than VC. VC greatly improved on GTA 3, no doubt, however, it lacks a proper, cohesive criminal underworld storyline that should be in a GTA game. Building the criminal empire was cool, but the lack of gang involvement makes the game a bit boring to me. What you said about Vic being relatable is very true and this is why I don’t like Tommy as much as others do. He’s just not relatable to me and plain unlikeable at times. Tommy’s best qualities are his intelligence and no-nonsense attitude, but other than that he comes across (to me at least) as selfish, greedy, narcissistic, and self-serving a-hole, who is almost just a talking Claude. Vic is none of that. Sure, he’s got a temper and he’s a killer, but he genuinely loves his family and does whatever he can to protect them and his friends without question most of the time. Vic does have an empire somewhat similar to what Tommy eventually would have, even a more powerful empire, but despite the way Vic goes about it, I can still relate to him way more because he’s doing this to provide for his family. Tommy is doing it for selfish reasons and plainly for himself.
In An alternate Timeline Vic lives and decided to stay away from the criminal world and turned all of his criminal businesses to legitimate ones. Apartments, groceries and gas stations what people needs and decided to share the profits to Mary Jo and Mary Beth to support and raise her.

No pc official* port made this game underrepresented. Games which rockstar made platform exclusive are underrated
i always appreciated how much more hectic and chaotic the streets were in VCS. its basically showing how the drugs started coming to Vice City

Judging by the outrageous prices used copies of this game is selling for, I don't think it's THAT forgotten.
In 2022 I finally found out how I can play this on PC by emulator. I was very excited to be back in Liberty City and especially Vice City.
I have to admit that I enjoyed playing LCS and VCS more than some of the modern titles.
I have the game on PSP and PS2 and I've beat it multiple times.
I might replay it again today or some day in the very near future.

I learned my business strategy for saints row 2 thanks to this game. It’s not enough to eliminate every gang that’s just makes life easier you gotta buy businesses and use them to fund your war lol
great game I still have my psp copy of this game and the strategy guide classic they don't make them like this anymore and the theme is my favorite
You can also buy this on the PS3 digital store (possibly PS4 too?) but it lacks analog control so you'll always be driving around at full speed.

@@dietisgreat For some reason getting it on PS3 is an easier prospect and from what I've seen most people who play GTA's just speed around anyway.
I think the main reason why it is underrated is the fact that it was made first and foremost for the PSP and it came out when the Xbox 360 already existsed. In an ideal world this game would have came out for PC and Xbox 360 first and then a while later for PS3 once it came out. Of course with much better graphics than what we ended up with.
To think of a pad that suits our preferences best? Holy cow, i'd never want to go that xbox route. These alignments are brutal to me.

I believe that GTA 6 will be the gta game and game of of all time so powerful that we can see an epic story, gang wars, realism, physics, criminal empire and love story. So powerful it could beat GTA San Andreas
VCS is honestly a top 3 gta game for me. It's just that good. Some of that is probably nostalgia as i got the ps2 version when it launched, but it honestly is the most fun game of the 3d era imo to replay next to III and VC.
I bought it the same day of its release in 2006 and I haven't found that game to be that good. VC was far above.
Its weird that in my country Indonesia, There are only Three GTA game avalaible for the PS2 at that time, which is the VCS, LCS and San Andreas, I swear to GOD, i didn't even knew that GTA III and Vice City was existed until i touched the internet in 2009, when i search for the game on my local game store, i shit you not i couldn't find one PS2 Disc for the Vice city and GTA III

VCS is the best non main game to the series. If they did this for the main game it would've been amazing. Too bad they failed to do that but with GTA 6 they can fix the problem and add in more.

The PPSSPP emulator is another fantastic way to play. I never once had a problem playing it on my tablet with an Xbox controller, and I was able to get 100% completion

VCS is severely underrated, and is way better than VC. VC greatly improved on GTA 3, no doubt, however, it lacks a proper, cohesive criminal underworld storyline that should be in a GTA game. Building the criminal empire was cool, but the lack of gang involvement makes the game a bit boring to me. What you said about Vic being relatable is very true and this is why I don’t like Tommy as much as others do. He’s just not relatable to me and plain unlikeable at times. Tommy’s best qualities are his intelligence and no-nonsense attitude, but other than that he comes across (to me at least) as selfish, greedy, narcissistic, and self-serving a-hole, who is almost just a talking Claude. Vic is none of that. Sure, he’s got a temper and he’s a killer, but he genuinely loves his family and does whatever he can to protect them and his friends without question most of the time. Vic does have an empire somewhat similar to what Tommy eventually would have, even a more powerful empire, but despite the way Vic goes about it, I can still relate to him way more because he’s doing this to provide for his family. Tommy is doing it for selfish reasons and plainly for himself.
In An alternate Timeline Vic lives and decided to stay away from the criminal world and turned all of his criminal businesses to legitimate ones. Apartments, groceries and gas stations what people needs and decided to share the profits to Mary Jo and Mary Beth to support and raise her.
