May 2024: evacuation from the north of Kharkiv region. Saved and saviors

Since May 10, 2024, officers of the National Police, the State Emergency Service, and the Coordination Humanitarian Center, which together with Kharkiv Regional Military Administration coordinates the work of volunteer associations and NGOs in the humanitarian sector, have been conducting an emergency evacuation campaign for residents of the northern border of Kharkiv region.
During the mission, more than 12,000 civilians and their small and large pets were rescued.
The Kharkiv Media Hub team coordinated the work of Ukrainian and foreign journalists at all stages of the evacuation mission, and was directly involved in accompanying journalists to Vovchansk and evacuating people.
We made more than 60 trips with journalists from 65 media outlets from 19 countries who told the world the truth about russia's attempts to create a “gray zone” in Kharkiv region, the stories of people who are forced to leave everything behind to escape russia's latest war crimes, and about Ukrainians who are united and never abandon their own.
We thank all the organizers and participants of the mission, fellow journalists and producers for their hard and dangerous work together!
