for being the first custom map in halo online, this is a big step

Might I ask for the short version of how this is done? Is there a resource I can reference to learn how to create and import custom maps to Halo Online - Eldewrito?

Ok so first of all, there's not a well supported method yet.
If you really want to learn about modding Eldewrito you need two tools: Assembly, and TagTool.
Assembly is a GUI tool with some limited capabilities, TagTool is a generally more advanced tool.
The way I did this map was I modeled it in Blender, and imported the model as a giant forge object basically.
This Is not the optimal way for custom maps to be done, and you are rather limited on the complexity of the map due to engine limitations. The limit is somewhere around 25k vertices on the model.
I recommend joining the Eldewrito discord channel(s), and just hanging out, talking to people who know, and trying to pick up as much as you can. Generally, people will be glad to teach you about the tools, about the game files, etc.
There's not really any readily available documentation on creating maps, because it's really just something that can't be done "cleanly" yet.
I also recommend learning the C# programming language, because that's what Assembly and TagTool are both written in. Being able to add functionality, and fix issues with these tools is an invaluable tool to have when it comes to modding the HaloOnline.

Hey man, was this done in the forge editor or another software?
If it's done in another software, can you make a tutorial on how to get that running and importing into halo 3?
at the moment I'm trying to get the old halo 3 .map files converted and imported into Halo Online, with very little luck so far.

This was done using Blender for 3d modelling, and TagTool for importing into Halo Online. NOTE: This is not imported as an actual map, it is imported as a "forge object" - it is no different than a crate, barrel, traffic cone, etc; just a more complex model. TagTool is a constant work in progress, with source-code publicly available.
If you are serious about adding content to HaloOnline, your best bet is to download VisualStudio 2017, download TagTool source-code, and just learn to program in C# as you go.

      Yeah, I get ya.
So it's pretty much the same as a 3d mesh/object and means it's an entire thing.
My first idea was to make a map in Unity and import it that way, didn't think about Blender I have tried adding old halo 3 maps into the game and even edited the UI and code to try displaying it in the map list with no luck so far.
Hopefully someone one day will figure out a much easier way of doing things, I'm gonna give your method a try shortly.

We need community members dedicated to furthering the progress of TagTool and content creation. This *requires* usage of C#. Programming is really not that hard, there's just a steep initial learning curve.
