I hope the video gave you more of an insight into the true life of Sissi. Currently I am contemplating on making a video about Sissi's children, whose lifestories are quite tumultous. Let me know what you think about that idea! :)
This video caught my eye because while touring Austria, I remember on the tour a big deal was made of this one Queen Sisi that she was the most beautiful queen of all queens ever. However, when I look at the painting of her sisters and her daughters, most, were equally as physically beautiful. Also, I know women of her time placed great emphasis on their waist being very small, but if you look at her arms in the painting, they weren't thin, making one wonder if she was hiding a lot under all that cloth of her dress. Like today, women went to great lengths to obtain and maintain beauty standards of the current age. It's not so much the waist today, but the face and breasts. Especially women with money go to great lengths to have a skinny body, with large breasts and a perfect face with bright white straight teeth. Nature most often doesn't provide this recipe, so they go under the plastic surgeon's knife, more than several times, and the denist's/orthodonist's chair living on Starbuck's black coffee, in the gym for hours, to obtain it. I saw your video about Sisi's daughters and the second daughter was also beautiful and worked so tirelessly for the people she felt safe staying in the country during a time of war. I wondered why they didn't mention her on the tour. I can imagine that it has more to do with the books and movie's about Sisi that has given her this major role in the tourist's industry. I don't believe that it is because no other queens were this beautiful, and no other royals worked this tirelessly for their people. I can see why the people of Hungary would hold Sisi in great esteem, but when we were touring Hungary, I can't remember them mentioning her.
Thank you very much for this video. my sister and i are from Germany and have been watching Sissy every christmas since childhood. This film is very informative about her real life. Love it. Very well made.
Sissi was Indeed a very remarkable beautiful highly intelligent woman, she never knew true happiness in her life, a lost soul in many ways and sadly her life was cruely ended by the assassin, thank you for the indepth story of sissi's life. 😊👍
I am so glad I found your channel! Your videos are beautifully made and I am eager to see what you will create in the future! And yes, I want to hear about Sissi‘s children, would be very interesting to learn more about them! Thank you for keeping me entertained during my break🧡
I remember going to see this trio of films as a very young girl i have watched themso many times i think the names were sisi then sissi mother and empress then sissi queen of hungrey i could be wrong not afraid to admit that but would watch them all again great

Anna of Prussia was not married at the time. She was engaged to Prince Frederick William of Hesse-Kassel who was 16 years older than her. Franz Joseph met Anna when he was 22 and she was 16. He became very infatuated with her and wanted to marry her. His mother wrote to Queen Elisabeth of Prussia and asked her, "whether there is any hope that this sad marriage to Prince Frederick, which they are imposing on this charming Anna and which leaves her no prospect of happiness whatsoever, could be prevented," but to no avail. Archduchess Sophie predicted that Anna's marriage to her betrothed, Frederick William, would be unhappy, which turned out to be correct.
@@savagedarksider5934 I think Franz Joseph’s marriage to Anna would be more compatible. Anna dutifully produced 6 children with Prince Frederick even though he was emotionally distant to her. Sissi left Franz Joseph in Vienna to travel the world. She neglected her wifely duty.
the audio is SO BAD!! please work on this! it goes in and out and it is so hard to listen to. I love these stories but please please work on the audio.
I truly enjoyed your video. Are you aware of the disclosure made in 1982 by the last empress of Austria, Zita, who said to Viennese and French journalists that Kronprinz Rudolf did not commit murder-suicide but was assassinated by henchmen of Bismarck? It seems that Emperor Franz Josef let the suicide explanation exist because of fears that the truth would trigger a war with Prussia. Little did he know that Archduke Franz Ferdinand would be assassinated at Sarajevo in August 1914, triggering the 1st Word War... :-( Apparently only a few individuals knew the truth, including Sissi, who never recovered from this horrible news. This would explain the last 9 years of her life spent in deep mourning and depression. She predicted that an horrible conflict would arise from events in the Balkans and that the Austro-Hungarian empire was doomed. She was right, unfortunately.
I hope the video gave you more of an insight into the true life of Sissi.

Fun fact: Sissi was not franz josef first choice of wife; his first choice was Anna of Prussia; but she was already married.
Interesting!
@@historyfoxy5278 imagine what history would have been if Franz Josef would have married her.

I did read about it. It's a really interesting theory. I'm afraid we'll never know for sure what happened that day.
