      I'm sure it will be more than $6000, if they decide to sell it commercially.

      this is lrobably an stumate of parts. but an rc turbine can cost you 3k. I would say partwise its more 6-8k. But I doubt this would market initially under 30-60k. VAT. Margin. Vendor margin. Marketing bla bla bla... u know

    You Go, Frankie!! Since I was a child I've dreamed of flying, I mean really flying! And to see Frankie Zapata make it a reality was an awesome moment for me! I could not help laugh, cheer and cry at the same time. I tip my hat to you and crew. Well Done, Frankie, Well Done!

    The kind of stuff you would expect from a super corporation like Honeywell. This is epic, I can not understand how this is not more widespreadly promoted. A milestone in the aviation industry.

    • @playprostudios712
      @playprostudios712 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Don't mean to be the conspiracy theorist here but what if the Aviation Industry sees it's potential as a threat somehow? And they tried to buy but the developers refused to sell? There actually have been many brilliant ideas that never saw the light of day because they got bought & shut down so that their entry wouldn't disrupt anticipated profit patterns of existing ideas that took years & Billions to set up... my two kobo.

    • @tokyowarfare6729
      @tokyowarfare6729 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretry sure they saw as a threat to a secret project that is costing tax payers zillions of millions.

    • @Rhacman
      @Rhacman 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can't see commercial aviation being too worried about competition from this as a form of travel. Even their trained pilot flies it over water for safety concerns. Its range is also highly limited due to fuel capacity. It's a form of recreational flight like an ultralight or parasailing. You can already purchase and learn to fly an ultralight aircraft but it hasn't, nor will it ever, put a major dent in commercial airfare. It's a limited niche so it only gets limited exposure.

      Rhacman thats only because right now we dont have the technology to make it commercially usable to the public. But from here it will inly get better, this is still a real hoverboard now, now its just about someone making it more compact and effecient at the same time.

    • @domvasta
      @domvasta 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      unless you live less than 2.5km away from work and can refuel at work, it's pretty useless.

    • @playprostudios712
      @playprostudios712 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      For now it may seem useless but think of every other tech that's been perfected over the years through endless innovation. Like how touch screen has evolved right before our eyes. I'd be optimistic about flying on one of these to work... what bothers me most is the laws that will follow to attempt to regulate it's use or worse, the accidents that will necssitate the need for those laws to begin with.

    • @domvasta
      @domvasta 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is energy density, you literally cannot carry enough fuel to do that without weighing it down too much to carry you, if you want to carry enough fuel to get someplace you need a bigger rotor, which means the thing has to lift itself as well. to work it needs a thrust to weight ratio of >1 which means the thing needs to weigh less than the weight of the air it can push down and adding more fuels isn't going to help, this is why jetpacks aren't a reality yet.

    • @domvasta
      @domvasta 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the biggest jet plane, the A380 has a thrust:weight ratio of 0.27:1 from it's engine, it only gets into the air by going fast enough to push air downwards, this means it cannot hover.

      Stanislav has it right for all these years, we've dreamed it, read about it, comic books, and animations. The technology into this has got to be insane, wondering what kind of jet engine, the thrust can be seen as he passes around the lake on the water. I wonder also if there is an assisting stabilizer of some sort... SWEET...

      Ive had a few debates on line over whether eVTOL will allow us to land car sized aircraft in shopping centre car parks. Seeing Franki Zapata land on that raised platform with 1 cm precision proves to me it can be done.

      Resource jets not more than 100 hours.
      There is 6 pieces, they are all 24 000 $
      This is only the engines. That is necessary to constantly change.
      In the near future these things yourself can afford only the army and the police.

      Dope Dealers can afford lots of them.. Make it into a RC drone, instead of a 150lbs Man, put 150lbs Dope.. Very Profitable.. Without a Man on board, it's legal to shoot down.. BUT,
      Radio Control it from a mile away, nobody gets busted.. I see a big Future for someone who wants to Make Millions with NO RISK..
      Have them made in China, Cheap and Disposable, you can make it Autonomous.. It'll fly to your safe drop place. Drop the Dope, Fly off and Self destruct, No evidence, That's cheaper than paying a mule to run.. Drug Dealers can afford hundreds of them, then swarm them all at once, Cops will never get them all, and Your Dope goes though.. $$$$

    • @3DPeter
      @3DPeter 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      those jet engines make way to much noise, so a normal drone would be fine, because
      there are alot of electric drones that can carry 2 pounds or more, and you wouldn't have
      to waste them after each flight, because when a package is delivered, then you press
      the return to home button, and it wil fly back on it's own. And you can let it fly at night,
      al by itself to a waypoint you sellect on your screen, and at 500 foot height, you don't hear
      or see it, so it's ideal for smuggling drugs over borders, and i wouldn't be suprised when
      that is already being done.

    Absolute awsome!!!! Sad to think the US army had something similar back in the 50's or 60's....The Wasp....was also very cool and could have been a game changer then....but!!!

    This is very real! It was only a matter of time before someone figured it out. Many sleepless nights of trial and error i guess but it is worth it.Think of all the applications this could have, from domestic to military applications. The patent owner(s) are trillionaires already.Respect!

    I have a good suggestion for Zapata Racing. If this product can apply for the scene of a fire in particular the skyscrapers anywhere, we all believe that the people can be easily to be rescued in a short time and will not see the helpless people jumping down from the windows without any choice.
