Jurgen Matthesius met his calling in Wollongong, Australia, where he transitioned from a mechanical engineering apprenticeship to full-time Bible college. After graduating, he moved to New Zealand to lead the youth ministry at South City Christian Life Centre, significantly impacting the Auckland community. In 2005, Jurgen relocated to San Diego, California, where he launched Awaken Church with just 50 attendees. Under his leadership, the church has grown tremendously, becoming a vibrant community that continues to thrive.
