There this kid who lives near me who constantly begs my little brother to use his nerf guns (most being mine lol) and so he uses them sometimes. For Christmas he got an Ultra One and frankly I actually felt sorry for him. Such a waste of his parents money when they could've easily bought him literally any 50. Caliber blaster for a cheaper price but instead fell victim to Hasbro's scummy marketing and got him a crap one

Haha, the ultra four's $7 sale was my first and only exposure to ultra as well. I bought 5 for free shipping. Definitely glad I did since rebarreling it for elite/short darts results in a 100+fps blaster cheaper than a firestrike. Plus it's much easier to prime due to the gearing. Only trouble is making the barrel have a nipple at the back of it in order to push the ultra dart sensor in at all times. Epoxy on some spare plastic and you're good.
I tried the priming handle on the Ultra 4 once and tbh I'd buy one if it was at the price you got it for just for the prime Maybe then I could rebarrel it to fire Rival or Elite
The ultra 2 (in my opinion) is one of the most innovative blasters to ever come out of a line, it’s the best sidearm blaster in my opinion as well as the backwards loading system like a revolver
According to some people like coop772 he was shooting regular ultra darts with the ultra 4 and over 90% of the time, it was very accurate plus this accuracy will be very amplified with the accustrike ultra darts.
I recently got back into foam blasters again and had a Nerf ultra i bought on a whim and was wondering why i didn't find any bullets anymore. Now i see. Stuck with some N1, blasters and Dart Zone
The Ultra 2 was an instant buy for me and it's just as awesome now as it was the day I bought it. I tend to buy at least one blaster from every Nerf series.
I will have to disagree with the accuracy thing. I have a little button thing that was not even twice the size of a quarter, and I managed to reliably hit it from about 25 feet over and over.
Would you rather have a nerf gun that can fire up to 100ft away but the dart can go 90 degrees away from your barrel or a nerf gun that can only fire 10ft but is laser accurate?
About the accuracy, my ULTRA 4 is almost like a sniper rifle. I just line up the sights, and I hit a target such as a 16 oz. bottle from 20 to 25 feet away. I'm not sure why, though.
the ultra pharaoh is actually pretty solid compared to the ultra four, however the stock is bulky and it has an uncomfortable scope, but the prime isnt too hard and gives a realistic bolt action feel.
Another con; the Ultra Darts are made of a styrofoam material, meaning it can snap an break easily with enough force. But with a dart, you can bend them, but it’ll ruin the performance of it
I bought the 4 out of curiosity, and later went and bought the 2,3,5 and Pharoah. Yes, they all have ergonomic problems, and the accuracy is terrible. That plus the ludicrously expensive ammo really puts these out of the reckoning unless you're a collector. With the 4 and 5 I had to shave the trigger guard and trigger respectively just to stop my hand getting sore. The 3 you have to be careful how you hold it to not smack your fingers. The 5 is quite hard to load as they made the loading port too tight. The 2 has an interesting rear loading system but the chambers are out of line with the flywheels, further killing accuracy. The Pharoah has a fixed tube on top (not really a sight) that actually makes it harder to aim. The whole line will be consigned to the garbage bin of history, and decades from now we'll be looking at this line as an example of how NOT to design blasters, and especially ammo. It feels like a nasty money grab from Hasbro, and I pity any child that gets one of these as a present or with their hard-earned pocket money.
You may not but when it's just 6 kids and we decided I'd be the sniper, the ultra 5 is my Barry 50 cal. The bolt is satisfying and it hurts so much for kids anyway
It’s such a shame because the ultra series are some of the most aesthetically cool looking blasters on the market. But the performance & price are not worth it.
if you want a single shot orange and white blaster buy a jolt and save 15 dollars for something that fits in a pocket not a bag. well at least it has good FPS readings. edit: plus it can use most darts even off brand ones while ultra is supposed to be cost cutting yet it uses completely new darts. edit two: you might like it for its ability to stay on target but for a similar size there are many other blasters that have higher capacity for the same price.
4 was a good choice to start with, either that or the 2, I’m not a massive fan of ultra either but I HIGHLY recommend the 2, it’s just an all round fun blaster
How does using you left arm feel. I feel like my left is one of those limbs that you think are like... add-ons/less feel able like ummm.... In my opinion I also feel like it's my weaker arm but if I worked it out it would probably be the same but like a secondary. I just wanted to know if you felt the same about your right arm
My fav blaster is firestrike I hav had it for 2 years now and my hyperfire broke in 6 months lmao and just got a retaliator which is better to say the least
I hated the pull thing at the end or bottom. That was a pet peeve finding it good might be the big seller for me, ultra isn’t terrible. It’s what you would expect from a typical nerf blaster. I had a hundred in the last 6 years. And i’m 13. I love nerf. But I wish I had more. And more realistic ones. Which is why I’m buying something not nerf for once in my life.
I get most people hate ultra blasters especially the ultra one but it’s honestly not as bad as they say cause even though the accuracy is dog crap the ultra one has 24 or 25 darts I (don’t remember) that’s a good enough capacity to hit something and it looks like a grenade launcher so it looks badass and there are cons but not as bad as people say
dont get a nerf ultra 3, it jams really easily and even jams when there isnt any bullets chambered, mine is jammed to the point where if i fix it, it will jam again and again and again, i m just saying, it jams easily... but i do like the fact that it hits hard
The absolute only reason Nerf created the Ultra series is so you are forced into their eco system of overpriced DRM activated darts. They can't stop production of elite dart shooting blasters because they're still very popular, but Ultra is just the start of Nerf's incredibly cynical path down from being the "gold standard" to being the third party option to Dart Zone.
this is only my opinion… I think the nerf ultra four is one of the only ultra blasters I would buy. I think it is a very well made blaster but it does have some cons to it.

I don’t buy them because the ammo is REALLY expensive and I can’t find any cheaper 3rd party sellers where I live nor on Amazon.
If the ammo was let's say 10-15 cents per pop, I feel like the series as a whole would be received better (not perfect tho).

Aesthetics are the only thing that actually works like it's supposed to (except the gold stuff being only on one side).
