      Thanks. New project will begin in late November now that the Skana kayak is done. there is always something being worked on, just not something of interest or different.

    why use red cedar? because its so lightweight?
    otherwise wouldn't it be better off to use just pure yellow cedar?

      Mostly for weight, but red cedar is pretty soft so easily dented. So a denser wood is on the outside layers. I did another set for the club and they wanted them even harder, so ash was used on the outside layer.
