CAPCOM VS. SNK 2: MARK OF THE MILLENIUM 2001 / MILLIONAIRE FIGHTING 2001, also known as CVS2, is a fighting game originally released by CAPCOM in the year 2001 for Arcade.
The game is a crossover between renowned characters from Capcom and SNK, two significant fighting game developers from the 90s, starring the main characters from their franchises, such as Street Fighter and The King of Fighters.
CAPCOM VS. SNK 2 was later released Playstation 2, Dreamcast, XBOX and Game Cube.

Shin Akuma's SNK picture looked very demonic & devilish. It is also considered to be a rare picture of Akuma where Akuma actually smiles
Shin Akuma had been known to have bigger fireballs in the Capcom-SNK crossovers & the Capcom Fighting Evolution games
Shin Akuma not only has the strongest Raging Demon in the game(with the 33 hit combo instead of a 15 hit combo AND the "godlike" symbol) but he has the Misogi, a much more life threatening special.
This Misogi is very absurd
FUN FACT: This version of Shin Akuma also appears in Capcom Fighting Evolution as the secret boss as well.😀

SVC CHAOS kept this Shin Akuma but changed him. SVC CHAOS did give Shin Akuma infinite meter, but made his Raging Demon significantly weaker than Regular Akuma's Raging Demon to make his Misogi his ultimate Exceed move.
In the end of the day, whether you defeat Shin Akuma or Ultimate Rugal, both endings show Akuma coming out on top.
SHIN AKUMA: Akuma dies, but gets resurrected by both the Orochi & Satsui No Hado powers. The two powers tell Akuma that they won't let him die & will make sure he gets stronger.
ULTIMATE RUGAL: Rugal suddenly here's a voice "This mind is not strong enough to control my power" and then Rugal's body gets taken over by an Akuma-like entity. He says "i am the one with no name. I am nothing & everything." and leaves
I had noticed that there was a preference for Shin Akuma to be the strongest boss in the game because Rugal doesn't have a move with Instant Kill

@@fightinggamemovelists I think it depends on if you are playing Ratio mode & are using Shin Akuma or Ultimate Rugal as a Ratio 4 character. Ratio 4 characters do the most damage

0:59 That move has to be a counter to an enemy's attack for it to work. Similar to Rock's & Geese's counter grabs & Yamazaki's counter move

After seeing the story of Tekken 8, i immediately went back to CVS2. In Tekken 8 the boss Devil Kazuya defeats the other boss Azazel in battle after the 8th King of Iron Fist Tournament gets attacked. Afterwards Devil Kazuya absorbs Azazel's power & becomes True Devil Kazuya. Seeing that made me instantly conpsre it to what happened in Capcom vs SNK 2 where in both Akuma's & Rugal's scenarios, one boss defeats the other boss & receives the power from the boss they defeated. Akuma defeats Rugal, then Rugal gives Akuma the Orochi power & turns into Shin Akuma whereas if Rugal defeats Akuma, Rugal absorbs Akuma's Satsui No Hado power and becomes Ultimate Rugal.
I could only imagine that if in Tekken 8 Devil Kazuya decided to summon AKUMA instead of Azazel and absorb his power....then we would have had another Ultimate Rugal on our hands! In fact, Kazuya actually encountered Akuma in the Tekken 7 story!!!

Everytime i unlock Shin Akuma after defeating him in arcade mode, i play 3 on 3 mode and use Shin Akuma & 2 other characters. My aim was to beat the game with at least 3000 GPs with Shin Akuma. To accomplish this i would aim to:
1. Get perfect victories(50 GPs)
2. Hit the 33 Hit combo Raging Demon(long combos means more GPs)
3. Get through stages without losing any rounds(the complete bonus keeps increasing by 10 GPs)
4. Defeat the secret boss(300 GPs)

FUN FACT: Shin Akuma's character ending labels him as a "martial arts god" who disappears into the fire but will one day return. That statement ironically fits Ultimate Rugal's story ending after the player defeats him. After the player defeats Ultimate Rugal, he gets consumed by the satsui no hado, an Akuma-like entity appears in the fire and later disappears

Both of the secret bosses Shin Akuma & Ultimate Rugal have white hair which means they are very supernaturally powerful, demonic & godlike. Seeing them reminded me of the Dragon Ball Super villain Fusion Zamasu, who also had white hair and had godly powers. Plus, like the CVS2 secret bosses had two sources of power.

SVC CHAOS: Shin Akuma is the Capcom final boss while the Capcom secret boss is Red Arremer
This version of Shin Akuma was very different from other versions of Shin Akuma from the stand alone Street Fighter games. Other Street Fighter games like Alpha 2 & Street Fighter 3 Second Impact had Shin Akuma as just Akuma going full power and his symbol was the same as Akuma's. But HERE in CVS2, Shin Akuma was the reault of Akuma after Rugal gave him the Orochi power to merge with the Satsui No Hado making Akuma much more godly.... LITERALLY. Shin Akuma 's symbol in this game literally means "godlike".

Why use the secret boss in the stage where you fight a regular boss
The final osaka stages, the arena, the castle rooftop & the burning city have vibes of the final battle scene from the Lion King:
1. Dark clouds
2. A lightning storm
3. A fire that engulfs the area
I never thought of it that way
