4:20 Usually the machine will continue to operate and do well enough, even with gross quantities of lint, but it will be working harder. Sometimes, though, an almost undetectable amount of dirt will disrupt the machine's smooth function. If, as you have told us before, that lint or dust gets mixed with some oil, the machine may stop entirely. This video is a good reminder to clean your machine.

This is my exact machine which I still use as it's in excellent shape (it was a wedding gift from my husband so that tells you how long we've been married). I don't service it myself but I enjoy watching others do it which is why I watch your videos. I was just going through my manual and remembered that I had broken the buttonhole foot years ago and would like to replace it. Mine was plastic but I understand there might have been a metal buttonhole foot at one time. I'm hoping you can tell me how to find one to order? Thanks so much for these videos.

I would start by searching sites such as Ebay, Etsy, and Bonanza. Also, there are lots of Kenmore fan groups out there such as those on FB. They might point you in the right direction or one of the members might have one available. Good luck!!

Hi Thank you so much for this video. I just got this machine yesterday and I’m missing the screw and the lever that holds the high shank on the pressure foot in. Instead there is a wood screw in its place. I noticed this when I got home and I knew that screw, Which sticks out way too much was just so wrong. I’ve been searching to try to find out what actually belongs in its place. Thank you for showing that! Now I need to
Find out where to buy the screw and lever to replace it. Do you have any idea where I can get one?
