I love this video, and the sounds you can get out of that thing. Nice lights and framing. I just smoked an infused pre-roll and I just laid my phone down and just listened. Think I’ll do it one one time lol
Thx for sharing this. I love the sound, voice architecture and interface design of the Xpander ever since. Imagine a slightly smaller affordable rev.2 40 years later with some contemporary addons...just dreaming.😶🌫
My UBXA sounds better idk 😜💀 Jokes aside, I just watched Alex balls video on the expander so I’m ⛽️ had to check out the only kumite bro who I know who has one 🦾🤖
there is a youtube video called "Oberheim Matrix 12 vs Matrix 6" that will tell you the exact differences. One main diff is Xpander has VCO and Matrix 6 has DCO plus more...check it out!
I like this , but it just looks too hard to program - I tried the arturia and that was too hard - its really great sounding in the real hardware - but again , that programing ? too hard
I plan to post a vid on this is programming a sound from the init patch . Its sooo super easy to program you would be surprised. It really is as easy as a knob per function synth. The menu diving is minimal and the layout is cake to get in your head. If you know subtractive synthesis than you know this synth...
@@hanzvolt i am suprised , on the Arturia plugin I found it really hard. It sounds great - I am suprised you say that its easy , I have a yamaha dx7 and that is so hard to program , people used to program them , but it is very hard.
@@justinb9387 I have a DX7IID myself and I know what you mean...the Xpander is a breeze compared to the impossible DX7. Also are you familiar with the free plugin Dexed? Its a vst plugin that has controls assigned to all the internal parameters of the DX7. Giving you full control.
@@hanzvolt oh yes , I have dexed , its the only way to program - there is the dtronics programer ( hardware ) which looks amazing but exp. Glad to hear the Xpander is much easier to use. Its a lovely looking synth from a ' looks ' perspective.
@@hanzvolt I sold a Oberheim SEM this year and I never really liked it - The guy that bought it made an eight voice from it ( he collected 7 more - I was impressed ! the guy owned a studio he rents out and I had to wonder who on earth is going to program an eight voice he has made - it would be so hard to tune )
@@blendragon28 I just checked out some of your jams all jokes aside sounds very cool and looks like you got some pretty awesome gear man. I hope someday I can acquire some of that kind of gear too but these days just can’t afford it so it’s all Barringer for me also shared one of your jams on my channel. I thought it was pretty cool. Appreciate the banter man. It’s all love.
Sizzling VCFs and glowing VFDs are a neural warm blanket.
Audio bliss, great post.
Thank you!!

hahaha!!! thanks for the love homie. I just love to share the sounds from these synths
@@hanzvolt my pleasure, this synth has special powers!
I have always wanted one of these. I will have one…one day.

that would be a dream synth right there!!
I mean an expander and an obxa are totally different synths. The expander sounds great though
Synth heaven! 🤩
A UB-Xa could never do this.
but it can look like it does...😆
I heard Behringer’s cloning the expander soon and I heard it’s gonna be $500. That’s amazing. Can’t wait.
ohhh my...are they really?? lol freaking behringer...
@@hanzvolt just kidding 😂 i know the buchla enigma clone is almost ready. But dude that oberheim expander sounds pretty freaking awesome!!
@@synthsamuraiproductions you had me on that one...I wouldn't be surprised if they cloned one of their own synths.
@@hanzvolt Behringer will clone everything eventually. But no matter how much or well they do it you cannot beat the OG IMO.
@@hanzvolt haha now that would be epic. The behringer Poly B the Poly D clone
Sounds so freaking good!!
which is exactly why you NEED one!!!
love it
Beautiful!
Time for an UXpander.
uff just wow. now I need to own one! Thanks!🙃
well ill be posting more goodness from this beauty, some in depth modulation... you will want to sell a kidney to get one, I did...
Yeah! 👍. xxxxx!!
Awesome!
Just warn me if it's Behringer!
😆

😆Ha! Yeah he did a good vid. I watched it again the other day and I got gassed too. Had to power it up n jam!
@@hanzvolt hell yeah! Didn’t realize how many filter types that thing has. Freaking awesome
Is this essentially a Marrix 12 but 6 voice. An if so wouldn’t that mean it’s technically a matrix 6 with controls? Curious how close they are.

bEhRiNgEr bAd!!!!
When you say synth nerds, you mean playing notes without any musical meaning?
Yeah pretty much. 😆Playing non musical sounds to demonstrate the sonic capabilities and features. How certain parameter settings affect the sound.
