The test drive looked super-smooth. Didn't whack your head on stuff but a few times and you were good and conscious by the end of it. I'd say it's a win.
Well I just got my truck back . I dropped it off at 9 am and I got it back at 1 pm today he charged me $250.00 and I think I made a rare good move to have him do it.😅😅😅
A jack under the rear bumper or trailer hitch to lift the body up until the strapped shock fits on loose. Since the truck is still mostly on the tires it'll be safe.
If you are wanting the 4600 series (Yellow and Blue), These are you're front shocks www.summitracing.com/parts/bsn-24-013284 And these are your rear shocks www.summitracing.com/parts/bsn-24-016186 I hope that was helpful.
@@djbrotherelectric It was a bet from a coworker. 😂 the challenge was to hold it on my arm for 15 seconds. I doubled it. I may be dumb, but I ain't a wuss. Lol
So, oddly enough, mine only fit with the rubber boot going down. Luckily, I didn’t hammer hard on the grommet/eye like you said. It’s still weird looking.
I wonder if either your tools have tighter specs than normal, or Bilstein thinned the paint on those parts in recent years, I had zero trouble getting tools and the locknut over it. Great video, was just what I was looking for.
I'm still here. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make videos for a while. I've had a lot going on in my personal life, including a cross country move. I hope to get back into the game though.
Try installing a 5100 front for a leveled 99 f150 4x4 ... Bilstein's data is pos. You'd have to drop the front control arms to fit the thing into place. Torsion bar type.
I noticed the scenic background as you drove through the Ford proving grounds after the shock install. Where do you live? I still think bolting the top first is easier. If necessary you can use a jack to push the bottom up and use a punch to line up the hole. (dunit a few times)
@@LambchopsChopShop I live in So Cal and I am getting ready to move to West Virginia. Got the rear shocks done and just received the Quad Front Shocks today and will be installing today. Yes this truck is 4X4. I don't know if, or what the difference is between the 4X4 and 2X4 coil spring size. That being said I feel like they should be interchangeable. Sorry I'm not more help.
@@jasoncharles6980 The fronts will only go on one way. As for the backs, I believe they can be installed either way. It doesn't affect the shock dampening. I just preferred the look of the boot on top.

yet...still, calming.

I may have over exaggerated the improvement... slightly.
Slick Honey is great for lubing those rubber bushings.
I'll be sure to check that out next time.

Hi
In the process of upgrading myself. Thanks for the entertaining and helpful video!
I'm glad I could help.
I have put the top on first than jack the bottom with a floor jack with a socket to push it up high enough. Socket is for clearance from the jack
That's a good idea. I've also seen you can jack the vehicle up by the frame until everything lines up.
😆 this guy is good lol
ok... the freekin intro bout made me horse laff... 😂
Hahaha, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I saw this video and it scared me so I am going to take it to a repair shop and hope they know what they are doing . Wish me luck

That burn looks intense. Couldn’t have been from a flashlight.
Yes. A very bright flashlight... for 30 seconds.

I used red n tacky Grease on my rubber bushings. It's lithium-based so I don't believe it will hurt the rubber..
Lithium based should be just fine.
Very good video
