Fun fact: it would actually be possible with today’s F1 cars to drive upside down because of the amount of downforce they have
True, but these are based on late 80's and early 90's cars so probably a lot less down force. Still would not be surprised if those older cars could as well in theory.

Normal players aren’t down for the 10+ lap endurance races that us experienced racers are up for
So by the end they just grief or leave. Maybe 3-5 people are left actually racing

Actually I've heard that f1 cars can drive upside down. They have so much down force that it can almost act like a suction cup. The only thing is that, to my knowledge, is that it has to be the absolute perfect conditions, which doesn't include driving up a harsh angled wall. So, its half realistic half unrealistic

I remember going to the Long Beach Grand Prix a few years ago and Honda had a fact sheet about their cars. It stated that it's feasible above 150 MPH because of the amount of downforce the cars produce.
Modern F1 cars produce over 3 times their own weight in downforce at 200mph so in theory it should be easy on a flat surface..
However if the tunnel is curved like in the video things get a bit more complicated cause of ground effect and all that..

6:13 they come off easy because R* tried making at as realistic as possible because F1 cars aren’t supposed to hit each other but when they do (going 150 mph), parts of their cars come off
“Parts come off too easy” has obviously never seen formula 1 in real life. Yeah it is a bit excessive given that nobody knows how to drive in gta, and I feel like it should be non contact up until the 2nd checkpoint after the starting line or until after the first turn, and people going in the opposite direction should be put on passive
Parts do stay on F1 cars though, albeit being slightly mangled like real cars
I think GTA isn’t all wrong with the fragile parts but it’s a bit excessive, and inconsistent. I’ll slam into a wall and somehow manage to keep my front wing but then I tap it another lap and it’s flies off as if I slammed it. The games so broken yet I love it so much lmao
6:08 thats how fragile the cars are in real life. One small bump and the wings fall off. As far as the last one, yes thats actually possible because these cars generate so much downforce with the wings that they stick to any surface they're driving on like glue

Best way to drive the F1 car in GTA is to release the throttle and brake on the engine, this way you actually recharge the KERS system.

The open wheel update is based on formula 1 in real life. Hence why the cars are so expensive to make it realistic , amongst the features of having losing your front wing and other body parts very easily which does too happen in real life. Rockstars update was really good but people who can’t race properly or don’t know the real life counterpart just end up making excuses like these. Cmon saintsfan

The “boost” you are referring to is the F1 equivalent to DRS which can only be used at certain times between the 2nd and last lap that’s why you can’t use it on open lap
Actually it’s not drs, its KERS. Drs is used to reduce drag via opening aero flaps, kers is Kinetic energy recovery system Hence why the “boost” recovery via braking and letting off the throttle.
And DRS can be used anytime when u are within 1 second of the car infront of them and DRS is activatedcon lap 3 of the racr

DRS is a flap in the rear wing that reduces drag through the straits. It can be activated any lap (after the first phase of a race) if you are in a DRS zone and within 1 second of the car aheas
KERS is different from DRS. Boost is definitely kinetic energy being reserved, lol

As a f1 fan I gotta say, you don’t know what you’re talking about, f1 cars sound like that in real life and the whole thing about the care being to sensitive is also very realistic, f1 racing is about the speed and the way that you hit corners so you don’t have to slow down, it’s not like nascar for you just to bump into everybody and you can still drive perfectly
Rock star logic: Buy upgrades from Los Santos custom (spoilers) (rims) etc. Buys other upgrades from same shop comes back has to pay for old upgrades again if you liked how it used to look. I would understand the paint on the car but not basic upgrades like body kits.
You’re paying for the mechanic to install the parts not for the parts themselves however I do agree with you that maybe they should cost less the second time seeing as you’ve already bought the parts, you’re now just paying for the installation

The worst part is if you are in first and some idiot slams into you, you lose the front and back wing. Without those turning is not responsive. At that point you might as well quit the race, you will never get back into first, because you have to Pit, but now your lap will take 4 times as long to complete.

open wheel, i prefer to race alone, invite only server. Try and beat my own best lap times.
when dbl or triple cash/RP is on, you can race alone and make sure to take 8 mins minimum and make piles of $ & RP..triple is about $26k for 8 mins of leisurely racing alone. RP is idk, 4,000 or 5,000.

Saintsfan I don’t know if you have seen or watched actual F1 races but long story short, those cars are FRAGILE. A small piece of debris on the track can go under the car and completely shred it, I’m talking about the tires, the chassis, the suspension, the frame of the car, literally everything on those cars can be damaged by a small piece of stationary carbon fiber on the track

The damage is quite realistic. The kers activating on lap 2 is the same as irl drs (similar to kers as it increases speed) activating lap 3.

Parts falling off easily: Pretty much like a real F1 car. Also being rockstar, they won't usually make models with small parts that can fall off, they usually one big piece, like a door, hood or a bumper.
price: You pay millions of dollars for an F1 car and it isn't useless on the streets. Close enough to real life.
But What I can agree at, the physical contact in races. You cant run into other players in Arena Wars but you can in F1 races. Did Rockstar accidentally mix up the DLC files?

Kers boost would make the first lap racing even worse, as the kers could cause noobs to spin out even worse and ram into the corner even faster. Also the easy detaching parts are to deter the noobs from ramming.

I actually really enjoy the open wheel racers. I like a little bit more serious racing and though what you mentioned is true, collisions make the race more interesting imo. Though I agree, the rear wing falls off way too easily. The sounds a real bummer too, it would’ve been great to hear those engines purring like they should. Also yes, theoretically an F1 car can drive upside down due to the amount of downforce they produce

Yes, but racing with contact when no one is intentionally ruining everyone is actually a ton of fun. In non contact you have no real overtaking which is the whole fun of racing
@@The_Duude99 yes ik that but he is acting and making it seem there is no solution or way around the problem....I've races in both and non contact is still fun but it's fair usually... standard is fun for the aspect of risk and crashing but it's always kind sweaty and full of trolls who like to sabotage others

I work for Racing Point Formula One Team. An F1 car loses its front aero very easily, they are designed to shatter incredibly easily so they do not get stuck under the car and potentially launch the car into the air, similarly to what happened to Mark Webber in the 2015 Russian GP. With the 2019 regulations the cars can produce up to 2 tons of Downforce at 300kph, with the cars not allowed to weigh less than 733 Kg that is far more than enough to drive inverted in a long tunnel at a low altitude. Back in 1995 (the model of car I game) this was possible at a higher speed of 350kph, assuming the car has a blown diffuser and ground effect.

After the first lap it’s better than the beginning, only because people don’t go off start or don’t boost off the launch and then you crash, or the most deadly , the first turn, about 75% of the racers crash

You can choose standard and non contact if you’re the host, but I get your point. If it is a standard race I’d rather it be the first 30 seconds in passive, so everyone can get around that first corner successfully

Yes, f1 cars can theoretically drive upside down. They produce somewhere around 3.5 to 4x their own weight in downforce stocks a high speed, so that would be enough to allow the car to drive upside down as long as the engine has been adapted to run upside down
If you start at the front pull off the road just before the first corner. If you start towards the back of the pack, stay back. You will make back the positions and then some. Have yet to not get top 3 doing this. Its a big help.
I'm glad it's like this, it's common in f1 to have a big crash at the beginning, just hang back and wait for a good opportunity to pass while they all crash
And DRS isn't available for the first lap in F1
Going upside down is actually makes it more realistic because in theory the amount of downforce the cars produce makes it to go upside down in a tunnel.

yeah bro, the KERS boost on lap two is kinda realistic, although they dont technically use it now, the DRS sytem on f1 cars isnt enabled on first lap to avoid major crashes while the grid is still bunched up

Driving in the tunnel is realistic because of the downforce of the F1 cars they are able to stick to the surface even though you are upside down.
Just a heads up, there is a non contact mode. You will be in passive mode the whole race. Just thought I’d let you know but no one knows how to set it up that way.

I’ve been playing Formula 1 games and the multiplayer is literally the same, so when I tried these races on gta I wasn’t surprised, I usually win cause for at least 3 years I’ve been with assholes like that and I learned how to take care of them BUT THE CASINO HEIST WTF WAS THAT
Btw there’s something you can do to almost win every time :
1 - at the start you gotta absolutely get the boost and get to near 5th place
2 - you HAVE to make the first turn of the race AS QUICK as possible cause everyone will crash behind you and then you’ll be kinda safe
3 - if someone gets close behind you, brake and let him in front, even if you think he is a good driver, you’ll probably catch up later
4 - finally always choose the hard wheels, soft wheels have more grip but you’ll have to pit sooner, hard wheels have less grip but more durability. I always choose the hard ones and I have no problem turn or braking, only if the car is a little bit damaged
Im always using standard tire and never had problem.

well for the F1 cars, IRL the front and rear wing are designed to push the car onto the road giving it more down force and traction while taking corners at high speeds. Basically it's a car with upside down wings so technically you can drive on the ceiling of a tunnel
