After all the (well deserved) roastings this thing got from various TH-cam guitarists, I'm shocked these guys had the nerve to, not only continue with this ridiculous project, but actually show their faces at NAMM with it.
Yeah, gotta give it to these guys for their persistence.
It really was less problematic that the thing maybe not so great. For brand new players or those who just want something to fake playing [think next kevel of air guitar playing], maybe this thing could be "fun" but not so educational for real guitar.

No, the REAL problem was how the company responded to those youtubers, transparently threatening repercussions for bad reviews.

We agree to disagree. Companies have the right to ask whatever price they need to/as they see fit. We might not agree with their decisions, like in this case, but that doesn't change the fact that in a market economy, sellers can ask for whatever price they want. They might not get it, obviously, but there is no problem at all with asking.

I walked by this booth at NAMM and it seemed to be pretty decent. There were even drum sticks that made drum sounds
This video was a train wreck.😮 I had to look. Get an inexpensive guitar or Casio keyboard. Hey 😅 even check out the cigar box guitars . These digital gimmicks came out in the late 80s. Now they are back! How ever . The "best of the worst"of this trend, was a Yamaha version. It taught basic guitar skills and songs.
I feel like for decades new players have been able to gut it out and learn - did we need this? Feels like transitioning to the real thing is still a barrier - you’re not removing the obstacle, you’re delaying the inevitable - assuming the goal is to play a real guitar

I have arthritis in my left wrist, I just put up with it.
I can see a market for really young kids or people with disabilities or ailments that prevent them from playing traditional guitar. I don’t hate the idea, dude’s just marketing it to the wrong audience
i would be the perfect one target for this company. I like guitar but this is not my main instrument so anything that would make it easier just to enjoy and learn a bit faster would be good for me. Also my fingers do hurt from strings, i totally got it when he said that

What about plucking or slap tapping and ice picking pinch harmonics double handed hammer on's , do you change the steel string or just clean them.
It looks like the latency is pretty high all the way around - especially between the strum or pick and the time the sound comes out. Hot pink? At least they could’ve demo’d with a model that had a photo flame top, or some kind of skull, bones and flame airbrush theme. 🤣 Can you tap like Eddie? How does it sound plugged into a Plexi, or AC30? 😎

Nowadays, there are plenty of affordable guitars + a daw or an amp that would still cost less than that "toy" and are way better than it.

This is an excellent product perfect for midi production, a must have in your arsenal of tools.
If you want to play guitar, building up your strength and finger callouses is a must do for advancing. This looks to delay the inevitable and perhaps even create bad habits. Plus, who the hell wants “piano sounds”. on a guitar!😂
I mean, as someone who sucks at every non-guitar insterment I would love a midi guitar to record keyboards and synths.

This is the worst thing I've ever seen. No string bends or fretboard tapping. Also for the price you could buy a pretty decent entry lever guitar and an amp.

Listen everyone has mixed feelings about this guitar I collect midi guitars like the ez ag electric acustic guitar and that one was made for practice as well and fucking rocks live I can see this guitar being something ide like to play at small live performance in the back yard of my house probably idk but it looks and sounds decent but i just can't wait to plug it in to a pedal bord or maybe a amp I think it sounds like a challenge but in realty is something small for beginners like me for small House party gigs is what it sounds like to me
Every decade or so, someone tries to reinvent the SynthAxe. None of them have ever taken off and they've only gotten sillier. If you want to play synth guitar, get a hex pickup and a proper synth. And if you don't want to work and suffer for callused fingers, don't take up a string instrument.
Price point is not bad, it's fun, and it's opening the door to new technology in the future. I don't get all the hate

I also have three kids and have trouble getting them to have fun while practicing, so I understand adding an element of fun is good for the younger generation. Having them learn the tradition way and Hoping passion will replace discipline at some point, though

I’ve really enjoyed my Rock Band Pro controller as a MIDI controller, and I’ve wanted a more professional version of the same concept. But I’ve been disappointed by every attempt I’ve tried. They’re never better enough (if better at all) to justify replacing it. So color me skeptical. I also think it is a huge mistake to market these as beginner guitars. If they’re good, they may be a decent beginner instrument, but they’re not beginner guitars. That feels like a bait-and-switch aimed at the people most vulnerable to such a tactic. Which only makes me more skeptical since it looks like you don’t think you can sell it on its own merits. Celebrate it as what it is: A different instrument with some commonalities with the guitar. And be honest with beginners that if they really want to play guitar, they should buy a guitar. I do look forward to giving it a try if I get the chance.
Cool to see these sort of guitars making a comeback and $500 is not bad at all. Looks a bit cumbersome to play though, seems like he was struggling with the strumming a bit.
