Blazing Fury was built in-house by Herschend Entertainment in 1976. They've kept it as long as they have because it's become a tradition among families to ride the "hokey old dark ride". Dollywood has always catered to families, and they've kept it because there are people who rode as children with their grandparents, who are now grandparents themselves riding with their grandchildren. I too think Blazing Fury is approaching the end of it's life, but if Dollywood continues to maintain it like they have it could easily stick around for another 10 years.

This year, I visited Dollywood during the blizzard when it was only open for four hours and everything else was closed. Everything, except blazing fury. The first two times I rode blazing fury, I gained a greater appreciation for it. I've came to admire its last airtime hills due to its respectable airtime. However, after experiencing it a third time, my dislike for it returned. Due to that trip however, I now have a special spot in my heart for this ride and more appreciation for it. However, I can understand why you could dislike it.

This ride is pretty forgettable. However, when my wife and I rode in the back row, we got hilariously dangerous feeling ejector airtime on the first drop. Like, thighs hitting the lap bar strength ejector. We were both hysterical afterwards for the rest of the ride. Gotta do back row on this.
