It doesn't matter if Lacy didn't let him know in time that she couldn't make it. You don't welcome people, put stencil on them then let them go out for some fresh air before start tattooing to suddenly remember that they stood you up the other day! If they had had an issue, they'd talk about it since the beginning like the adult that apparently they are.
Didn't he know that's part of EVERY job dealing with people 🙄 don't work with humans if you have no tolerance. I interned as a social worker in a social housing company and missed appointments without any notice are not a rare thing. As we were supposed to come to people's homes, we would make the trip for nothing. That's annoying but if someone was being rude to a client, they would be fired on the spot. If you are not paid by the hour but by the client, you should be even more careful with your behaviour.
I agree! But if the artist is consenting and letting her stream then they shouldn‘t be salty about how it‘s going down. If they didn‘t want a lot of people giving their opinion they just should have said not to stream.
I don't agree that it's very strange. A bit odd, yeah, but it's the world we live in and this girl seems to be famous somehow. As long as she asked permission and got it (which seems to have been the case from my understanding) I don't think she was in the wrong for streaming.
Having a friend in the space sharing making the client stress and worry about placement is frustrating enough, but live streaming probably didn’t help the back and forth. I would be a bit frustrated too, especially when I book more than one appointment a day to be able to pay bills, spending loads of time placing and replacing a couple centimeters can be tough, and redrawing part of the piece would take even longer. but I wouldn’t have been mean about it, I would have explained the situation, ask her if we can regroup and I would definitely ask not to be live streamed.
When I was a nail technician many years ago, I had a client I worked with once and we did not get along. Months later she came in when I was the only one working she came in with a broken nail. I completely refused service to her and booked her the next day with someone else. It was truly better for both of us.
If the artist was researching her before the appointment, found out all of the (publicly available) info on Lacy's domestic disputes, and came to the conclusion that she beat her boyfriend... THEN WHY DID HE AGREE TO TATTOO HER IN THE FIRST PLACE?? All that says to me is this guy thinks it's important to do background checks, but doesn't view abuse as grounds to turn someone away? Not saying she was the abuser or anything, but that's clearly what the artist thinks of her.
Yeah it was definitely used as a bludgeoning tool to hurt her as opposed to an actual stance against domestic violence. Then the whole “omg don’t film my kid” even tho they had no problem with it beforehand (and idk if she even filmed the kid at any point)? And now lying about the situation on social media? Weird people.
Nobody should be treated this way! Every person in that establishment came at Lacy out of nowhere and attacked her. I would have cried and ran away in that situation...
But he put the stencil on? So he was going to tattoo her. But he backed out because of the comments on the live stream and retaliated against her? Yeesh.
Last month, I had to cancel a haircut literally 10 minutes before. I was sick earlier in the day and fell asleep. Woke up, still sick, called in a panic... And they were incredibly nice! I said i was happy to pay a cancellation fee, but they didn't want one since i was sick. I just saw them the other day. They were happy to see me feeling better, not upset about the appointment!!
I've always been lucky like that with my hairdresser. I get my hair washed every week and I can call her just before I'm supposed to leave the house and say I can't make it. Works out as a good half hour break often.
I had to reschedule my tattoo twice. Once because I had Covid & once because I had the stomach flu. My artist was awesome. He’s like, “Yep. I don’t want that stuff. Please stay away. What new date looks good for you?” When I was finally able to go he was like, “We’re healthy! Yay!” 😆
I've been in a similar situation with a tattoo artist! I have a chronic illness that by it's nature is unpredictable and I unfortunately had to cancel the appointment the day before. The artist and the receptionist were understanding and professional. When I did come in for the rescheduled appointment the artist was very kind, and asked how I was feeling. None of this nonsense
It's truly baffling that they wanted her to leave for making him look bad, and their way of handling it was to talk to her like shit and make themselves look bad. Like what? 😅
Again (as a tattoo artist) WE ARE LUXURIES. We NEED clients to make a paycheck. To live. If an artist whose well established is saying theyre slow and theyre having issues booking for example... maybe because this is how they treat their CLIENTS that they need money from.
A tattoo shop I know, if the artist posts they have a cancellation for that day or the next... they have people tripping over themselves for it. He could rebook it ten times over. But even if he couldn't that's what the deposit is for, because sometimes things do come up. So even if he couldn't fill it, he was still paid for doing nothing. He can't claim the design took effort so... he was just being lazy the day before & didn't try to fill it, or he has a bad rep/poor following already so no one was interested. And it sounds like she didn't even dispute losing her deposit for the previous day. So idk what their issue there was. It isn't like she just didn't turn up the day before then walked in like she owned the place the next day, she clearly made contact to tell them (according to her on the Monday...2 days previous). However, if that upset him then why would he even start putting the stencil on? Why not turn her away then? I think they agreed to the live thinking it would gain customers through exposure, but then he realised (after seeing the lives comments) that people weren't liking his attitude...unfortunately that is his own problem, you cannot blame someone for portraying you badly when it is your own words and actions that they are witnessing 🤷🤦. So, imo if the tatttoo artist decides they aren't going to tattoo the client, they shouldn't quibble about giving the deposit back, unless maybe the client was an asshole. I wonder if she paid on card, and if so, whether she can chargeback?! Hmm.
@hawkeyescoffee6399 like his whole "made me miss out on 400 quid." Like stfu... no because she's still there paying it no one would've filled his spot that quickly with that damn attitude. Ever.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 and to randomly bring up something probably traumatic from her past about jail for DV , like he did a quick Google search and saw the worst thing and stuck with it hoping to hurt her feelings because HIS got hurt. Like treacle says. His ego got bruised.
So frustrating. Thanks for calling this bs out. As a person with autism that constantly gets blamed for other ppls poor communication towards me this is a situation I've been in to many times. If they didn't want her to live stream, communicate clearly. Always putting their own feelings first not self reflecting and then take it out on the person that was actually trying to be reasonable. You explained their toxic behaviour and doubling down so perfectly. Thank you. So often these social dynamics ppl back yhe rude domineering person and you get left and excluded. I'm glad her followers saw through their bs.
I understand the why it would seem weird to livestream your appointment but also with the state of customer service especially with these small businesses, I’m v glad she got the whole thing on film and is able to pull up receipts because imagine hearing this as a story time where there wasn’t any tangible evidence ?! Such scummy behaviour from the “artists”
lol So you would be ok with people coming into your place of employment & live-streaming you all day? Convos with coworkers? Everything you say being blasted to an audience who can’t wait to tear strangers apart? Having a horrible day, & then having strangers on the internet critique your every move. This tattoo shop was trash, but pretending it’s ok to use businesses for content is gross.
@@isitoveryet9525to film inside any establishment you should ask first and if she asked and he agreed then there shouldn’t be an issue… if other workers didn’t even know then that’s on him not her…I might not like being filmed but if someone came in with permission to film from my boss I’m not gonna blame the person filming I’m gonna blame my boss
@@isitoveryet9525no i wouldnt bc i work as a cashier in a grocery store and not as an artist whos business relies on positive reviews and word of mouth while theyre permanently altering ppls bodies, hope this helps 👍🏽
Stencil placement is so important. I went into a flash day with an artist I really admired and they argued extensively with me about why they couldnt move the stencil and the placement i wanted wasnt possible and using flash as gap fillers doesnt work. Never had an artist refuse to move the stencil before and was kinda of flabbergasted. Completely put me off that artist and i have not seen them since.
@ghoultooth I have no idea. Especially since when I finally convinced them to just try it, it actually fit perfectly into the spot I wanted??? No idea why they were so pressed about it other than just wanting to get through their appointments as quickly as possible.
I feel like she deserves a full refund but I also agree, I would have felt so unsafe in that space I would have cut my losses. Being able to afford even a small tattoo is a rate treat for me, even more so now that I'm a mom, actually haven't had one since I've had her, I still would have cut my losses even knowing that I will not be able to book elsewhere. I'm surprised she wasn't sobbing from being stuck between anger and fear
I cry more when angry, I absolutely would have had tears flowing down my cheeks, but blazing with anger. I would not have been as calm as she sounded. Idk her situation with regards the arrest but it seemed from this glimpse like it might take a lot to get her to a point of hitting someone, so perhaps was a self defense situation, or maybe alcohol had been invovled?! Who knows. Either way, what he said was disgusting.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 I won't speculate on that part but I completely agree, mo matter what the situation was that caught her those charges it was a terrible thing to say. It wasn't his business or his place to speak on it.
Before the reveal they had dug through Lacey's past I got the vibe they had an opinion of her made already because of how they were treating her even after watching her stream from her own perspective because they were refusing to give her a chance they wanted to hate her. I honestly think they made assumptions about a "tiktoker", went through her content, and confirmation bias took place.
Stuff like this is what makes me so happy that I've never had an issue with the artist I do to. Eight years and no problems, much less disrespect or harassment!
So I had an appointment in October which is the same month that I had a heart attack. I went to the hospital (didn't know I had a heart attack) and the doctor told me that I had to stay for tests. I messaged the tattoo artist letting him know the situation and asked to rebook with him and all he replied with was "it is what it is." I really liked this artist and liked his work but after I told him I had a heart attack and he wouldn't work with me for a rebook, I lost a lot of respect. Its really hard finding a tattoo artist where I am so having found one and then that's the experience, just disappointed.
@@petthequeenofmaddness8592 I would normally agree except that (from the brief comment here) they didn't seem to show any empathy at all? Apparently all they said was "it is what it is" and didn't even ask if they were okay? If they had concerns about liability, I imagine they would have said so. It's the apparent attitude that gets me. You can run a business and still be a human. Yk?
Man that whole tattoo studio is trash. I feel bad for anyone that unwittingly chooses them. I agree with all your points though. They 100% definitely thought they’d get clout and changed their minds when it wasn’t in their favor. They have such rude, wretched people working for them. The gaslighting is also *not it*. Edit: Also, that comment that she should go beat up her ex or current significant other and get arrested knowing she was a DV survivor is horrid. Shame on that artist for saying that.
I’m just glad she filmed it! This artist refusing to give her back her money when he has no right to because he’s the one that is stopping the tattoo not her, she didn’t do anything wrong, it lets her form a possible case to get her money back
Hi Treacle I've just booked my next large tattoo for the end of May and I can't wait! My artist even gave me a discount this time so I've gone from tattoo virgin to valued customer in less than 18 months which makes me feel weirdly proud 🤣
We’ve seen TikTok’s on this channel of artists putting up with nightmare clients and they still have more respect and class. Lacy did nothing wrong and shame on those absolute bullies.
Commenting before the video being over, but... if he was upset at the comments, why did he decide to make it SO MUCH WORSE? Like instead of being professional and asking her, "hey can you tell your viewers we're cool?" instead he decided to prove them right and be a total POS. Brains, where are they? Not in those "artist's" heads.
I love how passionately you spoke about making your tattoos unique! As someone who has had a custom tattoo stolen by someone, it sucks! I’ve only had it done once and I can’t imagine the anger I’d have if it were MULTIPLE people that copied my tattoo. People spend so much time making their tattoos so personal, to have that just taken and put on someone else is just such a gut punch. You are the absolute best girly!!!
Yup! Been there too :-/ had my finger tattoos stolen repeatedly and they're still up on Pinterest and Google images 🤦🏼♀️ twice since September ive seen people on IG with my stolen tattoos
@@informitas0117my account is now private so no one can see my artwork. However people could just have the human decency to be original and not copy other people’s art.
Eww... the people at the shop really made themselves look horrid. There were so many chances to professionally decline her business if they were that opposed to having her as a client. They made themselves look like absolute trash business people. And about her personal issues, that has nothing to do with her as a client if she wasn't behaving inappropriately or abusing them or their business. Dragging up personal stuff was cheap and gross. They wanted attention, well, now they have it. You couldn't pay me enough to go there. Yuck.
Passive aggressive arseholes. Awful situation but it saved her from getting the Pinterest special. I hope she gets a beautiful tattoo by an amazing and kind artist.
she absolutely deserves a refund ! she was harrassed and on top of everything she didnt get anything actually tattood!!! all he did was lay a stencil down. id be PISSED if they did alll that then tried to make me pay for that experience too !!!
The beginning of this video reminded me of the tattoo I have on my arm that I found out was stolen art :') I got a rather impulsive flash tattoo last year while assuming that the artist did the design herself (naive I know it was my second tattoo) and then a few weeks later I saw that exist design on pinterest at least 4 times by just googling 'sun and moon tattoo'. Idk what to do with it now, I still like it but some of the lines have not healed well and I don't like walking around with stolen art on my arm. I've been debating either getting it altered to be more custom (while fixing the lines) or just straight up covering it. If this comment section has any ideas I'd love to hear them :) It's just a basic sun and moon with faces that overlap and some clouds tattoo. I knew it wasn't an original idea, I just thought it was an original drawing :'(
I think the idea of having it fixed and customized would be really cool, especially if you do still like the tattoo. Obviously stolen art really sucks, but it's also an opportunity to make it more your own while keeping the basic concept.
I’d say have it customised. If you like the artwork, you shouldn’t have to cover it up fully when it could be transformed into something really unique!
Girl same thing happened to me!! I came in with a unique design and he redesigned it to be something really basic and refused to change it!! I got it done and later that day looking it up saw the exact same tattoo on Pinterest!!! Luckily it’s easy to fix but why are artist like this??
No refund if it was the client themself being problematic, but she wasn't. They 100% should give her a refund. If they will hold a deposit even when a client cancels (which is fair) then if they cancel then they should relinquish the deposit. He is a POS, and thats not at all her fault for accidentally exposing his awful behavior. Good luck to him getting future clients 😅
This is a bit of an everyone's an AH situation. I think live-streaming a tattoo appointment without the artist knowing about it well in advance is kinda sh**y. I don't know if she had agreed upon filming, but if she hadn't, she really put the artist in a difficult situation. Yes, he could have asked her to stop filming, but there are millions of those videos online where people in customer service are made to look bad when they ask you to stop filming. And (I'm saying this as a self-employed person in a creative field), agreeing to be in a live-stream for publicity is understandable. Advertising is hella expensive. Getting online visibility when you are a business owner, not a content creator, is hard. We all pray for someone to tag us, or praise us online. Refusing the opportunity to get free publicity means actual money lost. All of that being said, at least based on the live-stream, she did get treated poorly. Of course, we don't know what went on before she started streaming. Maybe everything the artist says happened. None of that was an excuse to get personal. I'm not a people person, but when dealing with customers, I'm willing to bend over backwards to make them leave my shop happy. As much as I prefer making my art over dealing with challenging customers, in the end, without them, I have no business. Bad reputation might get you a couple of clients who think it's cool to be bad, but good reputation brings you a lot more. Also, if you love your tattoo artists, or any of your local businesses for that matter, give them that free publicity sometimes. It costs you nothing to tag them, but it makes their day.
The lipstick you're wearing is just great! This is just such a wild, weird scenario. I have no clue how I'd react if I was another client at that studio
I understand the fustration of someone trying to do their job and having someone go on live and having random people giving all their different opinions. It can rub people the wrong way. HOWEVER That does not excuse the way she was treated. They fully ganged up on her and escalated a situation that could have been easily resolved. It could have been a simple “look I don’t think we are seeing eye to eye. I think you need an artist that flows with you better. Here’s your money back and I wish you well”
I'll be honest, I wouldn't go through with a client that was live streaming their tattoo and constantly going to them for advice and having that streamer like attitude. Like I don't come to work to be told how to do my job and to be micromanaged, but the whole ordeal should have been done differently
Totally agree. I also find it odd how people keep saying that they should have just asked her to stop streaming, when the real tea is that she never should have been streaming in the first place. I don't know, I'm just a big believer in personal responsibility and being considerate of others and I would never even ask if I could livestream in a business. I just wouldn't do it, it is weird and people may agree to it despite them feeling uncomfortable.
So like at first I got the tattoo artists' frustration at having people on the live trying to tell him how to do his job. Like I get that. But then when things go to 100 for no reason is crazy They should have first asked her to stop the live or pause it until they get ready to start or something. They could have done so much to solve the issue. And yeah if she is there and willing to get tattooed and you are refusing then you have to give her money back
I’ve brought art that I DREW to my tattoo artist and it’s the ONLY times they’ve copy-pasted a piece on me. Otherwise, even with very simple designs, they take it and use it for inspo for their OWN designs. I get why some tattoos are popular (the semicolon is one that comes to mind) but copy pasting a whole design is so wild 😭
Did one of them say they had their CHILD in the studio? That’s why they’re uncomfortable with filming, I didn’t think that’s legal, no one under 18 isn’t it 🤔
I did look into this and there doesnt seem to be a law - in the UK anyway - against children being in studios, you just can’t have a tattoo done until 18 🥴
@@treacletattsAh right, I was in a studio the other day and a lady had her child in the waiting area with a friend, they needed a wee and the receptionist said no one under 18 was aloud on the tattoo floor, it must just be their rule then which tbh is a good rule to have. With ink/Body fluids etc probably isn’t the best place for a child to be, everyone’s got different situations though I guess.
lauren you always look amazing but i have to say your fits/makeup in the past several videos have been absolutely stunning im obsessed with your current vibe & style you’re killing it girl 🫶🏻🖤❤️🔥
this video is about something serious, but this is unrelated-your look today is *chef’s kiss*. the color palette, the aesthetic ITS ALL SO SATISFYING and i’m loving watching you
I was 20 yrs old when I got my first tattoo. I did have the artist do a custom original design but I didn’t end up with what I wanted. I had told the artist I wanted sunflowers 🌻 but she said she refused to do that bc “ that’s cliche and over done”. Being young, naive and feeling intimidated I went along with this. It’s a decent sized piece and I’ve wanted it covered up for years.
'Artists' like that are the reason I am so scared to make appointments with new artists. I am very sociaphobic, I always feel like a burden to others, think the stuff I say is stupid or annoying etc. etc. I found an artist whos work I rreally, really love and got nearly all of my tattoos from him. I nearly had a panic attack when I met him for the first time to start my right sleeve because I am constantly scared that people are mean to me or annoyed by me. If something like that would have happened to me I think I would be done with tattoos forever because never again would I risk this happening again.
Being live streamed while at work would absolutely get my back up. And she was being annoying about the placement. But nothing justifies behaving like this with a customer.
I saw this on tiktok the other day, sadly I’m not surprised. I’ve been in many rude/intimidating tattoo shops. . I left my last tattooist as he kept harassing me & making me feel uncomfortable. I am lucky with a kind & understanding tattooist now. . I felt for her because I know what it’s like especially when you’re on your own & people are ganging up on you ❤
The whole shop was unprofessional, but tbh any actually professional shop would probably politely ask that clients don’t livestream their appointment to begin with.
I just want you to know this is one of my favorite channels even though I’m not a tattoo girly (I have two tiny ones) I find everything you talk about so interesting!
I agree with the artists. It’s a private place, they’re at work, they have a right to not be recorded and disrespected at work!? It was definitely provoked.
Seems like everything else they’ve brought up is just to be like “here’s all the other things and now you’re recording in my private business and I want you to go because if this and all the previous events!?”
Just to give you like a different perspective, I’m a piercer and work in a kinda street shop. Clients come in and some are nice but some are so rude. They FaceTime their friends and give me dirty looks and question everything I do as if I don’t know how to do my job. I’ve never acted the way this tattoo artist has but I have told peoples friends to leave the room because they were giving me dirty looks and wouldn’t get out of my way when I asked nicely. They then gave me a bad review talking about how rude I was. However when people act like that I want to tell them to get out like I don’t need to pierce them. But I’m too scared to speak up for myself most of the time.
I feel you so much, as an tattoo artist myself i can tell friends that play backseat tattooers are super annoying and frustrating to deal with. I have a +1 policy in the work area for that reason. There's just one other person besides me and the client in the tattoo area, so my client can have feedback of their friend but i don't have to deal with 2-5 people asking all kinds of questions and standing in my work space for no real reason. 😂 Usually people are super cool with that policy, if they are sad/upset, i tell them they can come in one by one and that's usually fine for them. I also make sure to explain why i do it aka there's limited room, it's my working space, safety and hygiene reasons. ☺️
I feel pretty conflicted about this - the artists were very unprofessional and should never have escalated this, but livestreaming a tattoo appointment and reporting every comment back to your artist about what they should fix also comes off as unprofessional. I understand stencil placement is very important and it's one thing to FaceTime a friend for their opinion, but to sit in front of your phone and ask random people on the internet what they think (when we know no one is ever going to agree because... it's the internet) just feels like a waste of everyone's time. Again, it's on the artists and business owners to be professional, they NEVER should have spoken to her like that, but it just seems like weird behavior all around.
I can't believe the lies the artist was spouting! She was streaming from before she walked in, then again once he finally decided to show up. It shows how long the streaming went for, and it was not 3 hrs! Also, trying to 🐂 💩 about no other tattooist being involved, when you CLEARLY hear the other tattooist having a go at her! So unprofessional! She may have cancelled her earlier appointment at short notice, but that's what the deposit is for! If he couldn't get another client with (according to him) 24 hrs notice, then the shop must have a bad name! Any tattoo studio worth anything will at least have walk-in customers, if not others calling for appointments. Yes, she definitely deserves her money back. Why should he be paid for doing nothing? He didn't even design the tattoo!
Just curious do you not like flash tattoos (based off the beginning of the video where you say 100 Becky’s have that and to only get customized work) because as much as I don’t really go tattoo shopping on Pinterest I’d be a hypocrite having flash and lots of very traditional tattoos (snake handshake etc) that you see many people have. I know you like traditional as well so was just curious. Anyway back to watching lol I’m only like 5 mins in
I love your videos. I think as far as the tattoo industry, now, you are very knowledgeable and enjoy the way you convey things. I’m not sure know how the tattoo industry used to be and in some places, still are. Not saying they are good things just that some things aren’t as shocking as you convey. Rude tattoo artists? Unprofessional tattoo artists? Par for the course for YEARS.
Why does everyone need to film and livestream everything. So annoying. If you plaster every bit of your personal life all over social media, people will make comments about it.
The artist was totally out of line and brought up what is clearly a traumatic event (no matter how you look at it) *just to hurt her*. And this is someone who is supposed to be a professional? Inexcusable, disgusting behavior.
this isn't unprofessional to me, its their business and she's rudely livestreaming and reading off other peoples comments to the people doing her tattoo. im sick of people defending people rudely filming in public like this, they can deny service if they want
I’m so glad my tattoo artists would never behave like this to anyone! Also they always bespoke design my tattoos as far as possible, even on my leg sleeve of animals the background is unique to me.
I’m curious if she asked permission to film a live stream in their private business? What are the legal and confidentiality rules? She told the artist that the chat thought the tattoo stencil looked straight, so obviously he was aware she was filming, and didn’t tell her to stop. I don’t think she can be held accountable for what others comment on her channel. Mods can always mediate and block, but the chat was reacting to the bad behaviour of the artist. Interesting to see how this plays out. I’m only halfway through so far. She’s making Him look bad? Sorry he’s doing that all by himself. She’s being quite polite under the circumstances. Exactly Lauren, if they don’t want to be recorded, they should say so up front. She should have asked and maybe she did… they just didn’t like how others saw them. Awww…. Don’t be a douche then!
I have 18 tattoos and the majority are custom!!! I love all of them and I get so many compliments. I love being the only person with these tattoos and I love the flash I get as well. Edit: also I have a shin tattoo and when it’s visible it’s one of my most complimented tattoos (it’s a flaming sword) and I love it but god my artist and I spent SO LONG on the placement lmao.
I used to have a really hard time letting things go, came from an abusive childhood, but I never treated someone like that...(I mean as a kid, but once I moved out I was able to learn a lot about empathy) Like I was in a public Facebook group chat, and this lady was super mad being so mean, so I butted in with as nice as I could be and kept trying to advocate for treating people with respect. She screenshot pictures of my daughter and sent a bunch of death threats. She was mad someone was giving away free puppies, because she felt all pets should be free and was talking about a kitten in July? IDK I think she might have been psychotic. I don't mean it in a mean way I have been in psychosis, and it's terrifying. (Having a baby can trigger postpartum psychosis so if there's a history of mental illness be aware of that risk). Long story short, I feel really bad for her. I hope she gets help. I filed a police report and live on a secure grounds that requires getting past security to get in and she doesn't know where I live and my hair is green and I'm 20 lbs heavier in my fb pic. I'm sorry I'm rambling
I have a tattoo on my chest from an anime called FullMetal Alchemist, it’s the homunculus tattoo from Lust. This tattoo is really popular and a lot of people around my age have it. The artist talked to me about doing black shading within in and the red that the tattoo has to make it unique and I agreed. So it looks a unique to me and I love it!
I've watched a few live streams from a client, and I really like them. I actually prefer them to the artist doing it because for me you get a better feel of the 'real experience'. Unfortunately so many tattoo artists are like this, the first one I went to was so hostile and mean for no reason and it took me a few years to get a second tattoo. Sometimes it's better (and safer) to just cut your loses and consider that money gone than to fight with them
I keep trying to think of an explanation but nothing makes sense. I wondered if he has connections to this ex but then he would have already known. If he was worried about the live then being rude knowing it's going out makes it worse. My first tattoo was done by someone really badly, both mine and my partners, although theirs was worse. There was more than just the mess of our tattoos. Then we found a new place in a totally new area and he is amazing, pretty sure he undercharged himself too. He fixed both our tattoos, really cheerful guy so it was fun being there with him. I'm glad I don't have to worry about people like this.
This is why I don't post photos of my tattoos online. I found the perfect tattoo artists to design my tattoos to fit me and I would hate for it to appear on Pinterest!
There are so many different ways to handle this situation. I have had problems with customers, I am incredibly patient and will usually let their foul attitude roll off my back (even if I b*tch about them later to a close friend!) but it is very very rare for me to flat out kick a customer out. They have had to been incredibly rude and abusive in their mannerisms and language. I have let a customer full on scream and curse me out for something waaaaay out of my control (I know I didn’t have to put up with it. Had been told repeatedly by managers but like I said… I am very patient) and the fact that I remained calm earned me praise and a tip from said customer meanwhile he told the manager when I had to bring him over that the other cashier who jumped in to defend me, needed to be fired. To be fair to him, her language and attitude was completely unnecessary and caused the situation to escalate. I even told her after he and his family stalked off that I did appreciate that she stuck up for me but her language made the situation worse. Anyway, with that being said, they had absolutely no right to treat that customer the way that they had. I don’t care what she did when they googled her (can I just say that’s creepy as f*ck?) name something about domestic abuse popped up, there is a level of respect towards customers that needs to be followed. 1. Politely tell the customer that you are no longer feel comfortable with helping them but you will direct them to someone who will. And if, then, no one else wants to help them, then you apologize and tell them that they have to leave the premises. Honestly, you also could tell them why but you do not have to give them a reason especially if the boss or owner is there. 2. After telling them to go, you give them a full refund. If the stencil work has a fee then yes, you may keep that and explain to the customer why but everything else should be refunded to the customer. 3. If the customer becomes hostile, you calmly tell them they must leave, if they don’t, you will contact the police and make your way to the phone. Give the customer a chance to make a decision, but if they still refuse to leave, call the police! Tell them that there is a hostile customer in store who has been calmly told to leave and they refuse. Depending on the severity or if you truly do not wish to have them return, give the okay for a No Trespass. This means if the customer returns at any given time, you do not have to engage with them. Call the police. What they did was completely unacceptable. I cannot stress this enough: Googling your client without any cause is creepy! For those who are wondering what cause I mean: if it appears like the customer is behaving in a shady manner. Edit to Add: That… actually hurt my heart to see Lacey look down when that artist threw the domestic in her face. Which by the way, is anyone aware that there are several “domestic violence/abuse” situations you can be arrested for and most of them aren’t like what you believe it to be. Say if Lacey and her then boyfriend at the time got into a very bad argument, he was in her face screaming at her non-stop… and she pushed him away and he hit something but other than that was fine. If the police is called by someone in the house or a neighbor and they arrive to question them… if her boyfriend had a bruise from where he hit something, she would be arrested for “domestic violence”. Again, she would be charged with it but that doesn’t necessarily mean she constantly abused him. People need to make that distinction. Was it okay for her to do whatever she did? No. However, it puts into context why Lacey reacted the way that she did. The lowering of the face was instant shame. Guess what? True abusers would not feel shame or guilt for what they did. And if she truly was as violent as they took her to be because she was arrested on charges of domestic violence, when they ganged up on her… she would have reacted completely differently. I don’t think it didn’t have anything to do with her live-streaming, the domestic violence, or the fact that she canceled her appointment. It 100% had to do with the comments (as they said so themselves) that said he was being rude. If that’s how he handles, and I cannot stress this enough, *online comments about rudeness* get out of the profession. He obviously has a childish attitude towards people. I’m glad I know what shop this is… thankfully I don’t live near them… but I hope that they realized… they blew up their own careers over their stupidity. 😂 “we got 8 new bookings!” totally had the same vibe as “thanks to all my haters!” and it’s really pathetic. I have never been in a tattoo parlor in recent years but I know about businesses that offer services like hair and nails… 8 new appointments is not the own that he thinks it is. That’s only 8 new clients and since he is so *sure* that they came because of the video, they are going to be very disappointed. Out of the 8, maybe 2-3 are there to get tattoos. The rest are there to see, witness, and *hope* they act the same way so that they can film it and post it later on the internet for clout. One more thing: the 8 new clients are not going to replace the other customers who are going to see that video and how spoke to Lacey and… if not cancel their appointments, they will completely ghost them.
In all honesty Everytime she went to the mirror sitting there forever asking her followers what they think is also annoying. I mean the guy was probably there all day and to have someone sitting there talking to her followers instead of the artist was very rude. And then to call in the night before and cancel was also rude. And she didn't even say for sure she said she may not be able to make it so he prob waited that day for her and then she just shows up like nothing it seems like a messed up situation because he didn't have to be so rude either
She did give him 48 hours notice, as per the rules. If he's telling the truth and that he didn't get the message till the night before, my guess is he didn't check his messages. Not entirely sure he was being honest though. But yeah, the lengthy mirror consultations with the live stream would've gotten on my nerves to no end 😂 but I'd have asked nicely if she could end the stream so that they could keep the appointment going in a timely and productive fashion. Too many cooks and all that
They were so grossly unprofessional. Do they think people can't see and hear the thinfs that were said on the live? He said he couldn't fill the slot that he'd had 48 hours notice of the cancellation on? How shitty a tattooist is he? I know of a tattooist (not any kind of celeb, not even in a buzzing city or anything) who would have people _clammering_ for a cancellation on the next or same day, even. Like with an hours notice there would be a dozen people asking for a flash piece, etc. Either he didn't try to fill it, didn't want to, or justbis not that popular🤷 . But that is what the deposit is for, anyway. And it soundsnlike she didn't quibble over that (she probably could have but obviously wanted to keep the peace to have her other appointment). I imagine they agreed to the live thinking it would boost their reputation. When they found out it was backfiring due to his attitude they took it out on her (really smart, dude, like why not just pull your head out of your ass, instead). How the hell did they think this would make them look? Seriously? IMO she was entitled to her deposit back. If she could prove she sent the message before 48 hours then it should have been both...I wonder if she paid on card if she can charge back? He was boasting about 8 bookings...as if it was from her live. And if it was, I would be very suspicious about their intentions after the way he treated someone who clearly has a decent sized following. Y'know?!👀
stencil placement is so important its better to redo it a couple times until the artist and client are both happy with it. I have a garter tattoo on my thigh and legs are not perfectly round and she adjusted and redid the stencils until it was correct. It took a while but I am glad she did. A good artist explains to the client why it looks the way it does.
Getting her deposit back was the correct outcome. I had a similar experience where my tattoo appointment got cancelled because covid lockdown was initiated. I did not cancel and the artist didn't cancel: the government did. When I asked for my deposit back, he said no and claimed that I cancelled. Only after a long text chain of arguing back and forth, calling him unethical for keeping the money, was he willing to give it all back.
While I don’t think it was the reason why he behaved like that and refused service, I do generally think it’s fine to refuse service because of „private“ things in the clients life. If I knew any of my clients were violent or involved in criminal activity or doing messed up stuff in general I wouldn’t feel comfortable working so closely with them and I think it’s totally fine to refuse service because of that. I don’t know Lacy‘s situation so I cannot comment on her specific case, but I do disagree that you need to be professional and serve someone who you don’t feel comfortable with no matter the reason. If any of my clients told me or I found out they abuse their partner, I would ask them to leave. It’s not my business but I don’t feel comfortable with having this person around due to my own past.
LMAO, she got the whole thing on video and he still had the audacity to say, "tHatS nOt WhAt HaPpEnEd". Red flags from him beginning to end,
He thinks we don't have eyes and ears.
I think she had every right to get her money back, but it was a dangerous situation to stay in. Horrible and unprofessional
8?!? 😂😂😂 Lauren is a savage
Live streaming an appointment from the client is very strange
But yeah even with that tattoo artists shouldn’t be unprofessional like that
I agree! But if the artist is consenting and letting her stream then they shouldn‘t be salty about how it‘s going down. If they didn‘t want a lot of people giving their opinion they just should have said not to stream.
This whole situation just seems odd.
I don't agree that it's very strange. A bit odd, yeah, but it's the world we live in and this girl seems to be famous somehow.
As long as she asked permission and got it (which seems to have been the case from my understanding) I don't think she was in the wrong for streaming.
Yeah you would think you'd try to be on your best behaviour.
See this is how it should be done!! Very professional on your end 🩷
No cause if he had an issue with her "not giving notice" why did he not discuss this with her BEFORE THE TATTOO
Right!!!
Exactly!
If the studio didn't want to deal w/ her, they should've refunded her deposit & told her to never return.
if you take someone's money, then choose not to get them service for personal reasons, you give them their money back
For arguments sake, even if she was problematic, their behaviour was unprofessional.
@isitoveryet9525 If they're OK and gave the permission then why not? It seemed like he was allowing it at first?
Whaaaat!! That’s wild 😨
That’s nutty. Sounds like they weren’t confident in their own ability, maybe?
That's honestly appalling behavior on their part. A heart attack is a genuine medical emergency! Where is the empathy? Jfc Hope you're okay now.
@@zanzaboonda they might have been scared or worried that if something were to happen they might be held accountable
"Get your shit and get out" "We're just talking!" my GOD the nerve of these people
Oh, hell no! The attitude and the unprofessionalism are freaking stunning!
I’m just glad she filmed it! This artist refusing to give her back her money when he has no right to because he’s the one that is stopping the tattoo not her, she didn’t do anything wrong, it lets her form a possible case to get her money back
This whole situation reminded me of winning at a fight you’re having with yourself in the shower over a made up scenario.
He’s just so disrespectful it’s freaking crazy
Commenting before the video being over, but... if he was upset at the comments, why did he decide to make it SO MUCH WORSE? Like instead of being professional and asking her, "hey can you tell your viewers we're cool?" instead he decided to prove them right and be a total POS. Brains, where are they? Not in those "artist's" heads.
So freaking happy there's never any drama with my tattoo artist. Just a chill man in his 50's always ready with a cup of coffee and a good talk.
If you are scared that someone can copy you, simply don't post it online. You don't have to.
@@informitas0117my account is now private so no one can see my artwork. However people could just have the human decency to be original and not copy other people’s art.
The whole situation is disgusting...it honestly just sucks how bad the industry is going down hill!! 🤦🏻♀️
Pretty nasty, having the whole shop jump on you.
Usually it's just the counter staff at my shop that give me a hard time. :p
Eww... the people at the shop really made themselves look horrid. Yuck.
If they didn’t want her to stream they could have said so??? Like hello
Some tattoo artist don’t even allow recording, let alone streaming? Wild
I had communication issues either my last artist, but he wasn’t an @sshole. Unless the client is being abusive/disruptive, not need for the attitude.
I knew it wasn't an original idea, I just thought it was an original drawing :'(
Ah so sorry to hear that my love, sometimes art theft happens with clients being so unaware which sucks but it’s truly not your fault 🩷
“I’ve seen this on a hundred Beckys baby!” ❤😂😂😂
Wasn’t expecting that. Gave me a giggle.
Love your videos! I get my first tattoo in February after watching you for years, can't wait!! ❤
Yaaaaay! How exciting 🥳🩷
Thank you for highlighting who this artist and studio is so i can make sure i and anyone i knows never goes there!
Completely irrelevant to the video but the nails, the lipstick, the necklace, the blouse, it's all so satisfying... such a vibe 😍
I understand the fustration of someone trying to do their job and having someone go on live and having random people giving all their different opinions.
It can rub people the wrong way.
HOWEVER
That does not excuse the way she was treated.
@@Megan-cd6sh it seems from what I understood the tattoo artist was asked by her if she could do it and he agreed to it before she started streaming
Yeah I agree.
So like at first I got the tattoo artists' frustration at having people on the live trying to tell him how to do his job. Like I get that. But then when things go to 100 for no reason is crazy
They should have first asked her to stop the live or pause it until they get ready to start or something. They could have done so much to solve the issue.
And yeah if she is there and willing to get tattooed and you are refusing then you have to give her money back
Treacle is the only TH-camr I have my post notifications on for. Always the best day of the week when I see the notification!

Gosh, I love your vids and your style. I adore how cool tattoos look on you, it’s like you were born to rock this style. 😍 🎉

I am lucky with a kind & understanding tattooist now.
.
I felt for her because I know what it’s like especially when you’re on your own & people are ganging up on you ❤
Oh my goodness I’m so sorry my love 😭🩷
The whole shop was unprofessional, but tbh any actually professional shop would probably politely ask that clients don’t livestream their appointment to begin with.
I was waiting for thissss! ugh always looking forward to your videos, 100% favorite content creator out there :)

If a tattoo artist talked to me like that I would cry
I really like these videos because it’s sparks others to get to know their own selves, and encourages emotional intelligence
I just want you to know this is one of my favorite channels even though I’m not a tattoo girly (I have two tiny ones) I find everything you talk about so interesting!
This was chaos from start to finish oh my goodness. Bruv you're also on a live PEOPLE CAN HEAR YOU BERATE HER.
She clearly wasted the artists time. I dont know how anybody could side with this girl.
They owe her the days deposit. I’d have called the police and waited in the parking lot. Hi, babe you’re on TH-cam now! 😂
Aside from the horrible disruption you look amazing i this video!! Love the sweater especially
I livestream and some people say some wild things and you can’t control it. To blame her for that is craziness!
Your lipstick color is everything! ❤
Hell, I had to book about 4 months out with my tattoo artist. And it was for an already designed 5 hour tattoo.
😳😵💫 yoooo WTFFFF. never seen a grown man hop in his baby bag of feelings so fast. unprofessional doesn’t even begin to cover it.
LOL!!!
"Well hi honey, you're on TH-cam now!" Hahah, love it 😂
I’m curious if she asked permission to film a live stream in their private business?
You look stunning as always, but this shirt! I need it ♡
I am currently being snowed in, and I hate the snow, so this helps ♡
Thanks lovely!!🫶🏻
I’d happily take the snow from you if I could cause I love it!!
@@treacletatts I will gladly send it your way 🤣
Thank you 🤗
I have 18 tattoos and the majority are custom!!!
30:22 the Green lines really look not strait at all on the leg (knee-ankle)! She is better off with not having that tattoo in the end
You are such an inspiration for me to get to know more about tattooinhg, im always looking up to you :D
Well it is called Anarchy Studio....seems like they took their name literally.
