No. I would constantly doubt and feel you’ll abandon again. When my now ex took a position in another state, I went with. It’s just what happens. There needs to be discussion about careers and moves before it ever comes to it.
The fact that Evan said “Promise you’ll never leave me” AND THEN PROCEEDED TO LEAVE MAX. Actually heart wrenching. Anyways, Max totally had a point about the long distance thing. It’s not like he was asking for long distance to be just as fulfilling as living together, but the fact that Evan didn’t even bother trying it first before breaking things off was so terrible. I can’t really blame Max for trying again though. If I liked a guy that much, I’d probably hope he had changed for the better too.
So Evan leaves the man he "loves" because he doesn't want to cheat on him. JUST DON'T! And then he tries to cheat with him! Yeah....Evan can PISS OFF, NON OF WHAT HE DID WAS OK!
I feel like sometimes they don't when they give up too easily instead of fighting for the relationship and trying to make it work together . I really like the stories here but lately I feel like one of the main characters in the story has been very sensitive and letting things sly too fast from the partner or too nice where they don't stand up for themselves and being kind of a push over .
The proper response to Evan’s proposal: “So, let me see if I understand. You gave up on us without even giving us a chance, without even trying to be faithful. You left, and when you finally realized how much you missed me, you were so afraid that I would reject you the way that you rejected me that you never reached out. You moved back to the city and still didn’t bother to try and get in touch. I only found out that you were back in town because you were busy having sex with my boss. When he introduced you, you pretended that you didn’t know me, lying by omission to your boyfriend. You kept coming around to my workplace, never telling him about us, so he had no idea what I was going through every time I was forced to interact with you for my job, forced to see you two dance and hug and kiss. You gave no consideration to how trapped I was or to my feelings at all, over and over putting me in a situation where, yet again, I had no say and no choice. Then you take multiple opportunities to flirt behind his back and try to start something up with me before even breaking up with him, keeping your options open while putting me in the position of participating in infidelity, a position you refused to be in to begin with, which is why you dumped me. All of this after making me promise to never leave you but never making the same promise to me, which, if nothing else, was one of the few instances where you weren’t misleading anyone. So, uh, did I miss anything? No? Excellent talk. Please make sure to close the door firmly behind you when you leave and have yourself a great life as far away from me as possible.”
Max accepted Evan's pursuit too easily Without even considering the consequences of another long distance separation due to work or whatever, For a period of time. Evan still has his need for physical touch afterall. Before deciding to " take things slow" I'd want to address the elephant in the room. See if Evan can be celibate when left alone to pursue his own devices.
I would probably have done tge same after a tear of wearing myself down with heartbreak and regret, and then I'd probably try to find a way to justify my total lack of self-respect. It's not an ideal sutuation, but at least Evan gets what he wants with relatively little cost to himslf, and Chandler really doesn't care about anything for longer than a month or to, if that long.
A flashback within a flashback? A ridiculous concept and completely unnecessary to the narrative. I'm so sick of these spineless idiots who keep going back to the awful, abusive ex. Didn't even make him work for it. Have some self-respect, for God's sake!
The story feels rushed, especially towards the end. Max makes the 180 turn way too quickly in my opinion. A normal person would need a considerable amount of time to process this. There are more feelings and emotions involved in such a process. Evan admitting to Max that he made a mistake and that he still has feelings for Max should start a process of conflicted feelings and hurt that need to be delt with, before even considering to get together again, which can be beautifully described by a skilled writer. In this story it's described in the simplest way possible and it feels very much rushed. The story could be beautiful and heartfelt but now it's mediocre at best. My compliments for the narrator he did his job wonderfully. By the way, Max accepts Evan way too quickly back in his life after the break-up and the betrayal. He lacks a spine and Evan has some guts to approach Max this way, he should be way more apologetic. He really shows he's selfish and lacks basic empathy skills.
Do you think even those who abandon us deserve a second chance?
Nope
hell no, after all i dont time or energy to waste on giving chances after all I am no balloon.

I don’t agree with their relationship and I don’t think he should forgive Evan
I'm sorry but from what I can perceive about this Evan guy is that he's exactly those Toxic manipulative kinda guy.
