Great video. We bought a 2024 Jayco Swift Outback from this same dealership late last year. They were great. Your setup/packdown video helped us choose what sort of camper we wanted. We find it very quick and easy to do.
@tbduggan85 yeah it's good, other than Jayco not installing the brackets on the side of it to attacg the poles to for the bag awning (luckily wehad a gazebo with us), the sink leaking and the cutlery drawer breaking off on our very first trip out, it's good haha
Yeh I had one for a few trips to caravan parks - not terrible. Took it to the cape and sold it immediately upon return. Difficult to get in to the fridge mid trip for food if I had forgotten to put anything in the car fridge, utensils etc, front seal leaking and letting in dust and rain so had to duct tape it up every morning, fridge also being absolutely woeful on 12v which was a wiring issue from new. And as mentioned by @jeep2701 the bag awning adds so much time and aggravation. Also great to set up or pack down in the rain as your pushing the wet canvas on to and over the bed ends... which leaks through so you end up with a wet bed. If I were to do it again I'd have just bought the full size bunk van straight up, or if funds dont allow get a second hand hard floor camper and put the kids in swags under a gazebo or awning. If you just want to stick to Big4s then maybe not so bad.
Yeah minimal internal access when it's packed up. If money wasn't an issue we'd have gone for a poptop caravan. But as a starting point, the Hawk was perfect for our budget.
Give it six months and it will take longer, it’s not a criticism just real life reality……….we had one did 5 trips and went to Jayco pop top van before moving onto full size semi off road van. They are definitely for the younger brigade and this who want more Offroad access.
They are the perfect starting point for young families. We started off with a Jayco Hawk touring model. We loved it and it took us to so many places. But after a year or two we upgraded to the 15ft Jayco Journey OB bunk model. With anything though, it's your belongings that take ages to pack up. The van itself isn't too bad.
We bought a Swift (from the dealership in this video), the salesman reckoned that many Jayco dealers have been asking for the Jayco factory to offer electric lift (the JackaJay system) as an optional extra but so far no indication they will. Our previous camper had the electric lift. I actually prefer the manual wind-up. It’s not hard, goes up faster and it would work even if the battery was dead (though our last camper did have a backup option to ‘jump start’ it from the car to get the roof up).
Good pickup. Probably should have clarified, pack down was filmed first. We packed up, then set up again straight away. I changed the order in the edit. Wouldn't recomend leaving lights on long term. 😆
Don't forget to turn the internal lights off before winding it down.
Correct.

Just ordered a Lark Outback on the weekend, even though this was a Swan, it got me excited all over again 😂 can't wait for delivery!
That's super exciting. Good times ahead for sure!!!! Congrats
How’s the Lark? We bought a 2024 Swift as we wanted the smallest one we could get, but very nearly went for the Lark.

@@ford05xr6 haha bit of bad luck! Hope Jayco took care of everything for you.
@tbduggan85 yeah mate, it's booked in to be fixed in a few weeks, good bit of gear otherwise.

It’s the awning that drove me insane when I had one
Yeah the bag awning was a slow point. I reckon the wind out would be the go!!
And the bed end flies. Packing them up in the rain is no fun
Bag awnings are awful. The Fiamma wind-out awning is the way to go. And we don’t even bother using the bed flys.

As in things sag, stretch, and go out of true? Or you get sick of doing it and slow down?

Where's Ledbrook?
😆 gone caravanning
2024 and still not an electric winder??
Electric would be over complicating it and would a lot to the price tag. The winding up part takes no time at all.
@@OutdoorsCBR yep fair enough, i used to have an eagle--- awesome vans

So cumbersome especially in the rain. And no warranty on unsealed roads. Only on bitumen. That’s a big miss for me.
Great starting point to get in to the van market IMO. Not sure your point about the warranty is correct. We drove ours on dirt plenty of times.
Nope these new ones are better then the 22 swans
There are some nice updates
Good way to burn the camper down with the lights still on just saying

They're LEDs.
It won't burn.
