    Superb interview!!! As a Thai, I was so pleased and thankful for what you and your husband did for Muay Thai.
    All Thai legends that you have been interviewed were the real deal at their time. Vicharnoi and Dieselnoi are the top of the top not only in their era but of all time.
    For this interviewed with Namkabuan, this was the best thing that could happen for honoring Namkabuan right before he passed. Probably this is the only real interviewed that Namkabuan ever having a chance to speak his minds out.
    Great job!!!!!!!!

    Namkabuan was actually scary considering his Ploughing technique. He was one of the few whose technique was banned post Ring fall of Rainbow I believe.
    That fight of his with Therkiat after he cuts him with an elbow is crazy. That wound did not bleed much despite being deep. Only Namkabuan can get angry without raising his blood pressure

    What's the plowing style he refers to, and why did it get banned?

    • @8limbsUs
      @8limbsUs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The current rules are that you cannot take more than 2 steps while holding a caught kick. Plowing is prior to that rule, you could catch a kick and run someone clear across and in some cases out of the ring. They banned it for safety reasons.

    • @Skiamakhos

      @@8limbsUs ah! Yeah, when you put it like that I can see the image, like the supporting leg is the plow blade & the kicking leg's the handle.

    In case anyone wants to know why plowing was forbidden in Muay-thai here's the link. One of the fighters accidently broke his neck while plowing.

    Nice interview. Sad, but glad it is saved for posterity reasons. Curious, was he a heavy smoker or drinker?

    • @mytube9182
      @mytube9182 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ajarn Pramot, his teacher gave an interview that Namkabuan didn't drink or smoke. He also mentioned Namlabuan's bone metastasis as his cause of death (that isn't reported in news). The riddle here is, so if he didn't smoke then what'd have caused his lung cancer, the primary disease before the cancer relocated to his bones. One thing we know is his restaurant is mainly selling Thai style pan Bar-B-Q, such a place is full of unhealthy smokes, let alone the the fact that customers are smoking a lot in this kind of restaurant. Can never judge what exactly was the cause but given that it wasn't smoking there's still a good explanation.
