Ma'am this is beautiful, please make a video for dark skinned dancers like me. I feel the way make up is done is SDN is so beautiful, you don't change the natural skin colour or try to make everyone look the same. I have observed your videos, it's so beautiful how everyone looks like themselves and like godesses in their own natural beautiful colour. I have not seen that anywhere else. This is just one of the many wonderful things that sets SDN apart. ❤️
Selection of pancake colour according to your skin tone is most important. For Bhairavi’s skin tone, she uses pancake no 28 or 29. For Harinie’s skin tone, no 27 and so on. Choose yours... rest making over is same for all... Shobha - Am I right ? 😊
Yes, Smt. Sheela Unnikrishnan, you are absolutely correct. Bhairavi's pancake no. 28 Harinie Jeevitha's 27 For skin tone darker than Bhairavi can use 29 and similarly, fairer to Harinie shall be 26. The pancake brand is mifi that costs around Rs. 130/- 🙏🏽
Where I lived and used to teach dance, the professional makeup man would make everyone look like clones. The arched eye brows would be drawn in the middle of the forehead. Everyone will hale apple-lips. Even the mothers can't recognize their own children. I would do the make up for all my students myself - enhancing their natural beauty. The hair-do and helping to get dressed would be done by the parents. The make up would be the last thing done before they go on stage. I did the natttuvaangam and also sang the songs - since I am a qualified music teacher as well. Literally it was a one-woman-show! Watching these episodes make me travel down the memory lane after several years. Nostalgia! :)
Initially when I used to do my own makeup I always went wrong with my eye make up... But eventually , going to more competition s and performance s I got an experience of doing makeup.. This is also an art! How amazing it is dance is so beautiful 🥰😍🥰😍🥰
Mam I adore your style of teaching and dance.....I wish your success keeps stepping ahead fr many generations......I am so lucky that I had atleast learnt basics in your dance class when I was small....
Namaste Sheela amma, I've been in journey of dance from 12 yrs and due to higher studies I had to leave dancing. I found one of your video incidentally during lockdown..... Since then I'm watching your videos regularly, I have started dance practice on regular basis. Your videos gave me the thrust required to start dance again. Really greatful to you Mam... Waiting to visit your institution🙏🙏. Once again thank you soo much for your videos... You are a great visionary for Classical dance. Shri Gurubhyo namah🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
A beautiful make up, with a fine and elegant finish!✨🙌✨ As on every Tapasya Episode! In tune with my favorite dance school and dancers. Greetings and blessings to all. 🙏
very nice mam you are my only favourite throughout my life you are the best in each every thing love you mam we are eagerly waiting for your other videos also this video is usefull for many mothers who are doing makeup for dance to their children even me to my daughter thankyou mam
These are all such beautiful girls. I wonder whether there has been any sthree whose beauty was so perfect that even one stroke of manjal or kumkumam was not needed. The skin golden, eyes like black bees, flush on the cheeks, forehead crimson with Shakthi . . . Would Madhurai Meenaakshi, Kaanchi Kaamaakshi, Kaashi Visaalaakshi, have looked like this, naturally?
Oh....., Thanks a lot mam ...., I was extremely excited when I saw this post on my TH-cam recommendation Also it was amazing ...., Even shobha mam is not a makeup artist she gives her best and completely it was wonderful....., Much thanks ..., I thought of this yesterday( why can't sheela mam post the makeup products which she uses for her kids)? So for this question 👆 You gave me a huge answer Love sdn always Such a creative eye liner given for your student ( THE STYLE ) ....., HATS OFF SHOBHA MAM....., It's my guess mam ( Next video would be konark dance. fest)😊
Mam this makeup is awesome... One tip is to use a. Moisturiser on the skin for children so that their skin doesn't get affected by the makeup products.. :) otherwise it's just awwsumm
Mam...Love the way you did the eyes. I want to find out how SDN wears the tiara or the small crown on the back of their head above the braid. I see that particularly with SDN dancers. Can you please make a video of how to put that.
Namaste, Thankyou for the informative video. What brand of spirit gum is used for the pottu? I sweat a lot and my pottu tends to start moving sway from the forehead and turn sideways
Mam from which store do you all buy ornaments? I dont find good quality in my area...if you say from where you buy i may try to buy from that store through online🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I think they use traditional Kajal (కాటిక) if you go for an old beauty shop, they sell a small box in green box (not eyetex) it's different. That kajal is more dry with which you can avoid smudges. Normal eyetex kajal can get smudged due to the sweat
How do you get the eyetex to go on so smooth? Maybe because I live in the US and it's colder here at times I can never get it to go on smooth like that. Here we use the liquid eyeliner but the brush for that is too thin that it's hard to sometimes get that smooth look and fill easily
Thanks for the helpful advice on makeup...I have thin/receding hair which makes my forehead look longer..i have tried bringing the chutti down and using a large pottu but nothing helps...any suggestions?
Very nice maam. Can we know the pan cake numbers for different skin shades. Or can u make another video for a bit dark shaded skin. Maam and don't you use base before pan cake ???
Ma'm, what sponge do you use while applying pan cake? The sponge that comes with mifi is very harsh on my skin. Also, Is there any role for foundation? Can we mix it with pan cake? I have dark skin, but none of the pan cakes suit my skin completely.
Namasthe. We use a separate sponge which is available for Rs. 30/- in the stores. Pancake is applied with water, using the sponge. Wet the sponge in water, squeeze the dripping water away and take pancake with the wet sponge and apply it on the skin. We DO NOT use any foundation generally. This seems to be good and you may also agree seeing our videos. If you are of Bhairavi, Rajadarshini or Mrinalini's skin tone, number 28 or 29 should be suitable.🙏🏽
Ma'am Namaste. Being inspired by the video.... I have been trying to apply the makeup several times but what happens is it becomes patchy..... Please help me sought out the problem...... With regards
Ma'am i had a 1 year break from bharatanatyam. Now when i started practising again i feel so much pain and im not able to sit in aramandalam for even 6 or 7 seconds. Im really worried right now. Please tell me what to do. I can even practise thattadavu. I asked my teacher about it but she didn't reply me😔 please ma'am give me some advice. I really want to become a good bharatanatyam dancer but now im really sad. I can't sit on aramandalam.😞😞
Gradually start practising with patience and perseverance... you can also follow the early episodes of Tapasya to get the step by step tips... best wishes to you
