Awesome tutorial, very easy to follow and very helpful. I made the exact same thing but with a flower image as part of an assignment and it turned out really good. This was easier than I thought it would be.

I'm getting a little pixilation from my selections with the wand when copying and pasting in the new segments which leaves something like a 1px line missing from my segments. any tips?
Try Quick Selection Tool which should be towards the top of the Tool Bar. If you can't find it or it's just not there, try to hit W and see what tool comes up. That's the keyboard shortcut for wand tools...That is if you haven't done any of things already haha.

You might want to add the usage the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/Cmd + J (copy selection to new layer) instead of Ctrl+C , Ctrl+V
