I remember, when I was friends with a supposed "Goth band" trying to make their splash onto the scene. These were two sisters, the daughters of a wealthy father into Hollywood's music scene and involved with the Grammys. I offered to drive all of us with my girlfriend, to attend the Coachella Music Festival in a new car I had just bought with a custom sound system. The audio changer was on a random selection mode when this Cranes song started playing. They threw a tantrum, yelling into my ears (which I have hearing sensitivity anyway) berated me with, "This is 'not' music... !!!", "You obviously don't have a 'trained ear' to recognize true talent, when you hear it" and both demanded "Change this damn music and don't switch it over to those 'no-talented' Cocteau Twins -- either... !!!" I couldn't take it anymore, as my girlfriend said she thinks she saw flames shoot out of my ears. I immediately took the nearest off-ramp to a Taco Bell parking lot. I shouted, "You two, have been trying to become famous since the 7th grade. Daddy can't buy your way into everything. People recognize the Cranes, that alone, is what makes them better than you'll ever be -- 'Get The F**k Out... !!!' " --- I drove off and left them stranded behind. If other people don't like my music, I say "Aww... that's, just to bad for you". I've always told people: " 'Good Music' makes you feel content: 'Great Music' evokes the imagination and exudes passions". The Cranes make Great Music.
A timeless classic. Crazy to think that the last time a video was uploaded on this channel was right before all hell broke loose throughout the world, which unfortunately seems to be the new "normal" of the current era.. ..But thanks for the positive nostalgia boost!.
Come This Far was my first favourite from this album. But Shining Road grew on me upon repeat viewing. The music video really seals my utter love for this song. The best part is the final chorus, especially when it builds up to 2:29 before Alison and the rest of the band goes off on the chorus. It was beautiful.

That feeling of being in love in the 90s with this track as your soundtrack
