  • The wolves were captured in Wallowa and Union counties over the weekend. They'll form the foundation of Colorado's own reintroduction efforts, which voters in the state approved in a 2020 ballot measure.

I live in the mountains of Colorado and many people said they have seen wolves up here already including my wife and brother. A first responder at work said the sheriffs department has caught people breeding wolves and just released them into the wild here in the past. They also say the black squirrels are extinct and I’ve seen them myself. Places don’t get funding if they don’t make up stuff and that’s easy money for them.

I love the wolves...they are my favorite wild animal...they seem to be my spirit guide...However, i live in the country in South Centeral Oregon and we do have many, many cattle ranches here and i can see why the ranchers would have a fear of wolf populations.. But if the wolves were set loose up in the higher, unpopulated areas, where they could be wolves and live and hunt and populate without human interference it would be great to see them come back from near extinction...After all they do have a purpose, they help to thin out deer and elk herds, taking down the sick and weak, or eating some of dead animals.. I dont see as many cougars/ mountain lions, or bobcats as i used to when hiking, so it helps balance out the need for preditors.. To keep the forests and back countries cleaned up.. They are beautiful animals and watching them is amazing .I'm thankful that we have groups like these reintroducing more of them into the wild...I just hope they do it responcebly and only release them far into the high mountains to give them a chance, cause i know many cattle ranchers, law or no law, will eliminate them if they come after their livestock...sad but true...especially during birthing season....

Wolves are not endangered haven’t been fir a long time. Tyransaurus Rex was here first too but who wants them? When the wolves and grizzlies start killing things they shouldn’t people may change their minds if they don’t have their heads in a bucket. They will end up killing a lot of elk and ultimately hurt the hunting income Colorado currently enjoys. Wait and see when the pack grows to hundreds of wolves you’ll see that it’s probably not appropriate to introduce wolves into populated areas. Protecting old growth forests is another mistake that will only result in massive forest fires that the government will claim is due to climate change. Not a lot of common sense coming out of emotional decision making.

If you have something to add that strengthens your point of view say it. Telling people they are losers or to grow up add nil to the conversations and don’t count. I sad it isn’t appropriate to make decisions in environment emotionally and you say grow up? I’m only saying this so maybe you could grow and add something to the thread in this . If you can’t I understand I won’t answer you again. Have a great day !
