When Bo tells Din her father died defending Mandalore, it was so impactful seeing him stop in his tracks and pay respect. That "This is the way" felt like he uttered it with the utmost respect for a fallen contryman!
A reminder that Bo-Katan Kryze is one of the best characters in the Star Wars universe, for the people who didn't know that already. And Katee Sackhoff fills this character with an incredible amount of depth and so numerous layers... Din Djarrin has obviously been written to become "The Mandalorian" who unites all the -divided- people of Mandalore who've been spread all over the galaxy ; but Bo-Katan Kryze exudes an aura that is rare in the galaxy, she is a skilled and very resourceful warrior who has become ever more wise over the years... She's more than ever a leader, but moreover a natural protector capable of wholeheartedly doing what it takes to save her loved ones (she clearly is not indifferent regarding Din Djarrin, not just because of the Darksaber, but because his deep desire to restore the past glory of Mandalore is a flame that she shares too, within her very self ; and she definitely won't commit the same mistakes that lead to her sister's death). ...Reason why I don't see them fight against each other for the Darksaber, but instead uniting their forces in hope of better days for the Mandalorian civilization... I wouldn't be surprised if her and Din end-up together, ruling Mandalore together, as Queen and King of New Mandalore.
I absolutely lost my shit when they showed the mythosaur. But the moment before that, with Bo watching Din enter the water, felt like the real point of this absolute BANGER of an episode. In that moment, it felt like she rediscovered the power of hope and faith in the darkness. Really, really loved this episode.
i genuinely hope that the both factions mellow out. that Bo and the others discover their faith again. and that the watch realize they don't need to blindly follow the creed (religeous extremism) to be truely mandalorian. What i am wondering is, if the dark saber is still Din's now. i know he took it. But the mecha alien disarmed him, and Bo killed the mecha alien. So in theory we now got a Harry Potter Elder Wand scenario.
Bo tried to show him the waters meant nothing. He showed her they mean everything. Loved how you could see her trying to take the piss out of all his beliefs but by the end she had her faith rekindled tenfold. Especially when she saw the Mythosaur awaken, (which in songs of eons past, will herald the new age of Mandalore)
I have a feeling that Grievous looking thing will some how become the semi main villain and he'll have to use the mythosaur to defeat some big ass droid or something it uses.
@Willy Wylde I have a feeling the main antagonist will be a Mandalorian, maybe even deathwatch, in a way it is thematically fitting for both Bo and Din. Bo because she used to be a member, and Din because the children of the watch are clearly connected to them
Notice that Din's Helmet Rule was interrupted too. Almost Like the force is saying...The Helmet Rule is just made up but. The rest has meaning. I think Bo-Katan sees it too.
The only reason I think Din fell so far so quickly was just to give us a sense of scale for the Mythosaur. And he definitely fell, lol. Dude just stepped right off the edge.
I thought I was the only one who thought grogu was being sassy this episode. A couple times it felt like he was rolling his eyes or being like 'well duh.'
There's something about Din that's so innocent/naive despite being a highly-skilled fighter. It's why he continues to trust Peli and fall for her scams, but it's also why he's so willing to go to Mandalore and redeem himself. His way of viewing the world means he wouldn't dismiss the possibility unlike the Armorer and Bo Katan. That's why he's the one who causes the discovery of the mythosaur. Still not sure if he fell or was pulled under the water; Bo Katan wasn't that far behind him, but it looked like she had to use her jet pack to catch up - or is his armour that much heavier?
I don't think he's necessarily falling for her scams. I think he is weighing the pro's and cons of "falling" for the scams. He can either fall for hers, or fall for those of another, probably less skilled and friendly mechanic. Plus he gets a trusted babysitter out of her. I think he fell. there was a steep drop off and with the weight of the armor he sank pretty quick
But now Bo Katan saved Dinn twice she can claim the "Black Saber". She has also bathed in water so her ancestors and rightfully claim the throne of Mandalora.
Before jumping in, Bo-Katan put on her helmet. That could technically be pulled under her "being forgiven" as well. Also, THE Mythosaur. I have nothing more to elaborate...
When Mando said "this is the way" to console her over his father, and she was kind of dumbstruck, and silent, Grogu gives her this look, like "You're supposed to say it back!"
I think you are close to being right on Din re-indoctrinating Bo Katan back into the creed. When they were talking about her Father and Din said "This is the way" the look on her face I read as starting to soften for Din being able to lead the Mandalorian people. This season is rockin hard.
Fun fact: Bo Katan and Duchess Satine's father was Duke Adonai Kryze. He was first mentioned in Star Wars: Build the Millenium Falcon magazine published in 2014-2016
They're gonna meet somewhere in the middle. Din is gonna learn to take that dang thing off, Bo Katan is gonna believe in the myths of the mines and the mythosaur.
@Mathies I agree. I think by the end of this season they will realize that both of their beliefs arnt necessarily completely right or completely wrong. I believe Din will see ancient Mandalore statues showing the first Mandalorians holding their helmets in their hands and not wearing them, or something like that. Could be wrong though
This was sooooo good! See that Bodin ship forming? I loved Peli's missing teeth from her BoBF adventure I loved seeing so much of Mandalore despite its condition I loved that freaky creepy spider bot creature I loved badass booty Bo (and her ship) I loved the Bo bonding with Daddy and baby I loved the anxiety-riddled R5 I loved Grogu ...just doing Grogu things of course I loved Din bathing in the mines even if he didn't take off enough clothes 🤣 I loved the Mythosaur I adored this episode! 💖
One thing I love the show does is that if you know the lore you're excited, if you don't they still tell you. It is not in an info dump way but a story telling way I don't know what a mythasaur is but they tell you by her reading the plaque. Then seeing it I can work it out and see that it will effect her. A lot of shows that have steep lore forget the part that not everyone knows it. You still have to show or tell people who don't know.
Sad that the only mandalorian that sees Din as a mandalorian is his “enemy” Bo. If you think about it both Din AND Bo bathed in the Living Waters. I think the Armorer KNEW Din would have drown in the Waters and she didn’t discuss the possibility it would be dangerous aka sending Din to his death. Yet TWICE Bo his “enemy” saved his life.
Well maybe the helmets in the mines that belonged to past Mandolorians those where the ones who actually check back on mandolore but the never left making people think it's cursed
What an incredible episode! I didn't think we'd get to the Mines so soon but wow! I have so many thoughts and questions, lol. Loved seeing Bo-Katan use the Darksaber - what a great contrast to Din's struggle with it - she's 100% firm in her belief that she should rule and deserves it while Din not only still doesn't want to lead but he's conflicted, I think, about his redemption especially since he just realized the Armourer either lied or didn't know that Mandalore was not cursed. I love, too, how Din's re-swearing ceremony was interrupted before he could re-swear to never remove his helmet (great foreshadowing from Ep1's ceremony) - I don't believe he's completely redeemed yet because he didn't finish the vow. And boy, is Grogu more confident with the Force; loved that so much! A hint, I think, that he will say his first words this season as well. I got teary eyed seeing Mandalore as it is now after spending time there in TCW and when Din said "our people" to Grogu - hit me right in the feels. Sorry I'm longwinded, lol, but wow. Fantastic reaction and loved your thoughts and speculation well. It is long wait till next week, lol. 🙂
I think that Din will be able to wield the Darksaber with much more ease now, because now that he's bathed in the Living Waters below the Mines of Mandalore, while reciting the Creed (don't think it'll be an issue that halfway or three quarters into the Creed that he fell/sank to the bottom 😅) a great mental and emotional weight has been lifted from his heart and mind 🤔😌.
If the 'children's story' turns out to be true, is it still a cult? If the Watch had not kept the faith perhaps no one would have ever gone to the waters and rediscovered the existence of the Mythosaur. Also, since Grogu can commune with creatures, will he have a chat with the Mythosaur next week? This is the Way!
I'd like believe the Mythosaur is a creature of The Force and is as intelligent as the Zillo Beast. Plus Din shows that he is pure, noble, determined and a believer which is probably why the Mythosaur chose him and decides to reveal itself to Bo bec it probably sensed that she is broken, doubtful and cynical to the point she lost faith in the people of Mandalore. If Din is truly chosen and managed to earn the respect of the Mythosaur to tame it, that fully cements his legitimacy to be Mandalor, making the Dark Saber look like nothing but a glorified royal artifact. All that training of riding the bluurgs with Kuill and him telling the story that the Mandalorians rode Mythosaurs from Season 1 and Boba riding and training the rancor is one big foreshadowing to this very moment.
Is the dark saber still Din's ? I know he posesses it. But the alien disarmed Din, and then Bo killed the alien, so in theory we got a Harry Potter Elder Wand scenario. If she can only be the official leader of Mandalor by getting the dark saber in battle, then she did just battle the owner for it.
The question is, does an ambush count as a defeat? If din had fought whatever it was head on, would he have lost? Those are the questions the rest of the mandalorians would have, and a claim on the darksaber that is so easily questioned is not enough to draw everyone back.
So, of the three of them, Bo-Katan, Din, and Grogu, who is going to tame and ride the mythosaur? My bet is on either Grogu or Din. Grogu because of the way he was able to use the Force to calm the rampaging rancor down and Din because of the things that Quiil taught him about taming and riding a creature. I think that Bo-Katan will end up with the Dark Saber, but that Din will end up the rider of the mythosaur. I think that most Mandolorians would follow either the wielder or the rider, so, together, they can reunite all of the clans. Not sure if it would be a purely political alliance or develop into a romance, though.
Going off of the speech that we hear Din giving in the trailer for season 3, I'm getting the impression that what this is potentially leading to is the Mandalorian culture kind of leveling itself out as they finally start to unite as a people, ya know? Like the children of the Watch might become slightly less rigid in their ways, because these conflicts between their people will begin to heal...Maybe...Or maybe Bo will just start leaving her helmet on more often. XD
You know Omn, it really feel like it is Bo that going be redeemed and that she now is primed to sit on the throne of Mandalora. She save Dinn, and can claim the "Black Saber", she has bathed in waters of Mandalora again and has been redeem in the ancient tradition of her people.
Oh my force this episode was awesome I enjoyed every second and I want more dammit lol!!! Bo is just a badass love her. Can’t wait for more Din, Bo and Grogu adventures on mandalore and get some more lore this is the way x
With respect to "why hasn't anyone figured out it's not totally inhospitable," any Mandalorian poking around on Mandalore itself would have drawn Imperial attention quickly, so the timeframe for people to trickle back and poke around is only about five years max. I don't know how much the new timeline reflects the old one of Legends, but the Mandalore sector is pretty close to Imperial Remnant territory in 9 ABY (in Legends), so that five years might really be more like three or less. The Mandalorians have had to move on, and I imagine most don't really want to go back and see their homeworld in ruins, even if there is a chance it's not poisoned. But there are people who've been poking around, which is why Din came across that relic shard in some market or wherever he got it.
Wait if the Dark Sabre is like the elder wand. Didn't Din Just loose it to the cyborg thing I call Dollar Tree Grievous and with Bo defeating the DTG wouldn't the Dark Sabre be hers?
yeah i think din was very worried about the creed, and being an apostate so he's struggling wielding the darksaber. i think his speech about the mandalorians being scattered across the galaxy was also possibly hinting at him feeling the weight of carrying the darksaber 'cause he now knows that it comes with the responsibility of being the leader of mandalore. i think he's feeling pressure to unite the mandalorians and take the lead of them to take back their home. i think he maybe thought that bo katan would take that weight off of his shoulders because she's from the royal but when she looked so hopeless last episode, that worried him even more that he was gonna be the one who has to do it. i also think mandalore being cursed was just REALLY GOOD propaganda by the empire and now that they are gone (!) finally it took din to discover that it wasn't all true. i also feel like bo is maybe warmer to din and his admiration for the creed. ultimately this will be all about finding a middle ground between the different factions and uniting the people to be one nation again and i think with 2 episodes so far this season is doing a great job at building it all up. it did enough at least to get me hyped for the rest of this season and season 4 and it is thought provoking to me 'cause as you can clearly see from mt comment i've been thinking. great reaction as always!
In a way, Din is right. What are the Mandalorian’s without the Creed? They don’t have a home planet and they are all scattered. I think he will be the bridge between all the fractured sects. He can be the middle ground between Bo and the Armorer.
I got it! Din carried the saber after taking it from Gideon. His conflict began after the took off the helmet. He’s completed his task he will be able to wield the saber now. His creed will be intact again.
Favreau recently said there was a 2 year gap between The Rescue and Boba Fett. Grogu had a deent amount of time to remmeber hsi training, as Luke suggested to Ahsoka. He shouldn't be falling as much.
What if Mando and Bo both fly back to The Mandalorian coven and they both confirmed that they bathe in the waters of the minds of Mandalore, and then the armor turns around and anoint both of them back into the Mandalorian clan
🤣🤣 I was waiting for the “fuck you” OMG why do they keep ending each episode like this…. Yes I know why. Grogu trying to speak though Will seriously kill me.
We don't know whose those helmets were. Other Mandalorians might have been on the planet since the Purge, and died. Din said his charts were wrong. That may have discouraged others (not just Mandos but also scavengers looking for beskar) to land on the planet thinking the air is not breathable. Whether you believe or not in the mystical legend, the symbolism is there: Din, a fearless stubborn Mandalorian, was able to get to the mythosaure's lair in the living waters underneath the mines of Mandalore, with the help of his friends. So he is the "chosen" one. My theory is that the mythosaure is a force-sensitive creature like Bendu in Rebels, and that the creed is true: only Mandalorians that cover their faces in public and follow the ways of the Mandalore are worthy of riding the mythosaure and becoming rulers without cursing the planet.
Your theory about the watch could be a possibility. I just watched this episode and holy shit. I flipped when Bo katan wielded the dark saber. Great great great reaction especially when you saw the Mythosaur. I was hit too with holy f#$%. I had to watch a second time to be sure.
First episode it was ok not exciting for me but this one suck me right back in!! Bo and Grogu stole this episode and the cliffhanger 😱. I can’t wait for the next episode! I wonder if the armorer will end up being the enemy in the long run. Hope to find out how this season progresses
I don't think she's rejoining the cult. She might be on a path to reform/reforge Mandalorian society. She saw the Mythosaur, she was the one who wielded the Darksaber like it was supposed to be hers.
I'm seeing this a lot, but I truly don't think the mythosaur had anything to do with Din's drop. Mandalore was EXTREMELY messed up by the Empire during the Great Purge (as we see in the episode). The damage done has opened up all sorts of cracks and crevasses (and exposed the Mythosaur in its slumber, which appears to be ending), so when Din went to confidently take a step down onto the step he thought was there... He suddenly learned that a full suit of Beskar is not great swimming gear...
@Dai che è venerdì True, but it’s kinda hard to believe he sunk so deep that fast especially with the buoyancy of his body. Yes, metal alone can sink fast but a human body can’t. I was just thinking on season 2 when he met Bo-katan and jumps in the water to save grogu, he was able to stay afloat…
@Dai che è venerdì If that was the case, Bo wouldn't have had to use her jetpack to propel herself. He was obviously pulled down. Falling down into water doesn't look like that.
Im glad we got to the mines so early, so now we can get the meat and taters of the season. Also i like the theory that the watch had a part of Mandalore's downfall to go back to the good ole days. I mean most cults want to go back to when their radicalism was considered, "the way." Great reaction as always.
I found it interesting that Bo-Katan was so mocking of the Mandalorian faith and the Night Watch cult, but did we just witness her having an awakening? She bathed in the living waters, and looked into the eyes of the great Mythosaur, she is not going to be the same... Will she follow the creed? Or go back to her old ways???
Hey Omn I was later reading the episode that this situation, when the Mythosaur appears, can change many things in Mandalore and especially in Star Wars.
You know, if you think about it, the Death Watch espoused this very fundamentalist return to traditional values, and they embraced terrorism as a tool to convert the Mandalorian people back to how they "should be." But... the Children of the Watch just have the traditional values. They don't have an agenda for others or any desire to use terrorism to convert people. They just are who they are. That sincerity of belief might just resonate with Bo-Katan a little bit, even if she mocks them as an ignorant cult. I don't see her ever converting to them, but I could see her learning to respect Din Djarin for that sincerity.
When Bo tells Din her father died defending Mandalore, it was so impactful seeing him stop in his tracks and pay respect. That "This is the way" felt like he uttered it with the utmost respect for a fallen contryman!

The imagery of Mando taking a selfie with Bo in front of the Living Waters is hilarious.
You mean Din selling his bath water and giving a free vial to the armourer
Din is the only Mandalorian to become a damsel in distress twice in a day.

All that training of riding the bluurgs with Kuill and him telling the story that the Mandalorians rode Mythosaurs from Season 1 and Boba riding and training the rancor is one big foreshadowing to this very moment.
You're overthinking it
@@Pinkielover maybe, maybe not. That's just my speculation
I don't think Din was pulled down ... Beskar is heavy AF
The LIVING Waters? “Living” because the Mythosaur is ALIVE in it?!?! SQUEE! 😂
Bruuuuuhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! That ENDING!!! Fuck I’m so stoked
Man, when the credits started I was all "NOOOoooooo". Awesome episode.
Not sure if it would be a purely political alliance or develop into a romance, though.
i'm hyped for your bad batch reaction
👍🏾Thumbs up for putting up your excellent watch & review so early 👍🏾
And Timmy/Din even eventually fell down a "well" in the ep, so the Lassie analogy is an apt one.
Grogu you lovable scamp
Wait if the Dark Sabre is like the elder wand. Didn't Din Just loose it to the cyborg thing I call Dollar Tree Grievous and with Bo defeating the DTG wouldn't the Dark Sabre be hers?
No only through a direct challenge
@@drewwar9344 umm...?
Bo Katan didn't believe in the myths of Mandalore. Now she does.
yeah i think din was very worried about the creed, and being an apostate so he's struggling wielding the darksaber. i think his speech about the mandalorians being scattered across the galaxy was also possibly hinting at him feeling the weight of carrying the darksaber 'cause he now knows that it comes with the responsibility of being the leader of mandalore. i think he's feeling pressure to unite the mandalorians and take the lead of them to take back their home. i think he maybe thought that bo katan would take that weight off of his shoulders because she's from the royal but when she looked so hopeless last episode, that worried him even more that he was gonna be the one who has to do it. i also think mandalore being cursed was just REALLY GOOD propaganda by the empire and now that they are gone (!) finally it took din to discover that it wasn't all true. i also feel like bo is maybe warmer to din and his admiration for the creed. ultimately this will be all about finding a middle ground between the different factions and uniting the people to be one nation again and i think with 2 episodes so far this season is doing a great job at building it all up. it did enough at least to get me hyped for the rest of this season and season 4 and it is thought provoking to me 'cause as you can clearly see from mt comment i've been thinking. great reaction as always!
16:00 So Bo-Katan also bathed in the waters of The Mines of Mandalore. Imagine that!
12:06 I wonder if that electrostaff this General Grievous looking cyborg was using was a survining piece of "The Duchess">?
In a way, Din is right. What are the Mandalorian’s without the Creed? They don’t have a home planet and they are all scattered. I think he will be the bridge between all the fractured sects. He can be the middle ground between Bo and the Armorer.
No one else noted that the sound of that cyborg did was the same as Grievous did it? For a moment I thought it was him
I got it! Din carried the saber after taking it from Gideon. His conflict began after the took off the helmet. He’s completed his task he will be able to wield the saber now. His creed will be intact again.
The quality of this season is excellent so far! Some of the best content Disney+ has put out!
I hope
I think the mythosaur reveal hints at one of them becoming the new Mandalore.
🤣🤣 I was waiting for the “fuck you” OMG why do they keep ending each episode like this…. Yes I know why. Grogu trying to speak though Will seriously kill me.
I really liked your observation that Din struggled with the sword but Bo Katan did not. Din may not be the one to wield the dark saber.
THIS IS THE WAY!!!!!!!!

Frankenstein: IT IS AAAAAAALLLLIIIIIVEEEE! THE MYTHOSAUR LIVES!!!!!!
Thank you, Omni.
I'm fairly certain he just sank. There likely was a wading pool there at one time that collapsed during the Purge.
Possibly, no one returned from the surface of Mandalor until now
Thank you, Omni! 🌊 #Omn1Media #StarWars #TheMandalorian
I think your assessment of this episode was spot on. It was a really fun reaction. Can't wait for next week!
He needs training from Bo Katan or Sabine. He’s extremely bad with the Darksaber.
Always a pleasure seeing you react to mando omni.
👍From scotland
This episode was amazing
seeing a mythosaur was soo cool and awesome
I think the cyborg was replacing Mando's body juices with BBQ sauce.
Very awesome Episode!
I believe the mythosaur is force sensitive and pulled him in.
He just fell...the beskar weight as any other metal
I mean most cults want to go back to when their radicalism was considered, "the way."
Great reaction as always.
He lost the Dark Saber to the creature in "combat". Bo won it from the creature. I think it is hers to wield now.
Pretty good episode, glad we got all the setup done last time.
I hope that that cyborg creature didn't use to be human because that would be *_very disturbing_* 😰😱!
At first I thought I was Grievous
Pretty sure Grogu was hungry. He had the soup after Din.
Sweet review.
