If that was your first time ever, I cannot even begin to imagine, how above and beyond your next tutorials would be. I understood everything and got the same result on my Illustrator! Hallelujah!!! You're a great teacher and that was fantastic!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ We want more! Thank you for your sharing.
And by the way, I will never understand those losers who have no life, giving thumbs down to something so beneficial, like the video tutorial above. They are beyond help!
hi, thanks. great tutorial. i've watched a few different tutorials about this technique. It's basically the same technique, but when it comes to drawing the rectangle it's usually a different size and in different position. how do you know where to make the rectangle and what size and where to place it to get the pattern to repeat seamlessly? I want to make a braid of irregular size.
Hi Naeem, Hope you are good? Thank you for your comment. It is true that there is a small overlap when the brush is applied to circles, but if you adjust the brush pt size and also the size of the circle it can make the overlap very small, once you have done that then 'Expand' your braid circle - object --> Expand. Then using the direct selection tool tweak it just slightly by moving the anchors. This brush was designed for linear and soft curves but with a little adjustment it will work on circles too :) hope this helps you.
great video but i am having a problem, can anyone help? my rectangle will not intersect at the 14 minute part of the video. help? it's making me insane haha
