With interest rates where they are, is now the right time to make a move?

A recent magazine asked me to chime in on this question, and I thought I'd share my answer with you all.
The interest rates have been at historic lows for a few years now. The recent increase has created the perception that interest rates are now high. Let's look at the bigger picture! Over the past 50 years, the average interest rate has been 7.75%! Rates near 6% are quickly becoming normalized and are likely to stay for the foreseeable future. Folks who have owned real estate for a long time understand that real estate continues to be a stable, safe and profitable investment.
With that said - you should move when you are ready! One of our primary functions as realtors is to facilitate good decision making.
