I'm a pensioner so am unlikely to benefit personally but am a shareholder to help others younger and fitter than me and keen to help you realise your vision. Great sharing, I don't live in England anymore, love England but my life took me on a long journey. Where I live now, I founds a local famer who brings his pickup truck with milk churns down my street 3 mornings a week, I take my pot out and his puts however much milk I ask for into the pot, fresh raw milk. Then I discovered that another local farmer has a relative in my street and delivers free range eggs to him which he sells, twice a week, they don't lay as well when it is cold, but I always seems to have enough. To me this is wonderful and means I can support my local community. I haven't bought a vegetable in a supermarket for years, why on earth would I? Keep encouraging people and I see that the UK farmers are setting up a website so you can find who sells what where. Being a country woman none of this is foreign to my thinking and way of life, it is true a small change by many transforms and creates a new society.
Yes, I've made small changes the last few years, my dad goes to a lot of farm shops, we just get him to pick up what we need while he's there, eggs, honey, that sort of thing... I'll keep the deliveries for the heavy stuff, just start using the local butcher and greengrocer again, slowly phase it out xxx

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment. Unfortunately, as with everything in life, many of us are excluded and looked down on because of personal egos and biases. I support a local farm shop and I buy from them, everything that I possibly can. Unfortunately, they aren't prepared to meet all needs. The farmer himself is the kind of person who hates his customers, and he's now looking to turn the shop into an Air B&B because he can demand huge sums. I, for the longest time, talked about the things that are now happening. In fact, more than 50 years have elapsed. I had to give up on the Woodlander Initiative when I realised that I couldn't overcome the barriers put before me, and I don't imagine that I'm the only one. There are numerous organisations from which I've been excluded, because people have their own biases and build them into the system.
