hey, console player here, it's 100% possible to widen your FOV all the way to 110, it's quite literally the first thing I did when I started Apex.

btw dropping the gun for his mate wasnt even that good coz you respawn with your guns for like the last 4 seasons now. it was convinient in the past (I won a game like that too) but not necessary in these days

main things for me that says he is actually a silver player: FOV, not stowing gun at all, constant ads (on a 2x with that fov when you are shooting somebody from that close), and lastly he runs while staring at the floor

Ranked isn't about 1v1s, the fact that you think that's a relevant taunt shows how little you understand the game.
Ranked play is all about placing high, understanding how to stay alive, minimize risks, maximize opportunities, knowing when to attack/retreat, rotations, etc.
Your fundamentals are lacking heavily. There are so many basic mistakes in this video it's not even funny and I say this as a Gold MNK PC player.
If you were ACTUALLY Plat tier, you would be stomping the lobby you were in. You weren't.
I'd also note that this is just one game. Even more-so, despite this being the game you picked to submit (probably based on the 2k damage +champ) there are still way too many basic mistakes and issues present. If you want to reach Plat or higher, you need to start accepting your flaws and work on them. Ignoring these won't make you a better player.

I agree. I have only gotten Plat once and I'm mainly gold because I don't play ranked that much but at first I thought about him saying how he can't gain points because of his teammates was true but it looks like he's the problem.
Yes, but sooner or later he hit Platinum. Some players get Gold or even Platinum rank through placement, with 0-1 kill/assist and babysitting by their teammates. It's not difficult for any noob. Because the cost of entry into the ranked from Bronze to Gold is not too high. This is probably the main reason why they get this rank and due to matchmaking you get similar teammates who play like noobs and have worst strategy of playing.

This person definitely deserves that bronze/silver rank. No disrespect but they would lucky to make it out of a console gold 2 lobby. I think its as you guys mentioned somewhat, the damage and somewhat decent positioning is what is saving him. The FOV being so low is holding them down, and also their pacing overall. (Pacing does also seem to look faster on a higher FOV, but I don't think even that would make the gameplay from them look much faster.) Console lobbies from like from like mid gold and above might not be the most insane gameplay still, but it speeds up a lot more and players have a solid understanding of the game. This person seems to take a bit to fully process everything going on and runs after pushing and forcing his team to come get involved. (Which is crazy as they said their team tends to over extend)

One thing that stands out to me is his constant looting of phoenix kits. Phoenix kits keep you from fighting for way too long.
The only time I ever pick up phoenix kits is after a squad wipe and no third party. Anytime other than that would be a nuisance to the team
@@scrublord9505 I always carry at least one. The amount of times I have had to clutch up and a phoenix kit is a free reset. I play Newcastle he allows me to force the time to pull it.
@@qiqueqiqi specially being lifeline, as lifeline I never pick up neither phoenix nor med kits, you have the drone, specially once you get the first perk that makes the drone basically infinite, the time it takes your drone to heal up your HP bar is almost the same as it takes to pop a battery, so you can get close to the same effect as a phoenix in half the time...

as someone who's masters on console, he gives silver vibes but could reach gold. if the person in the video is reading this: make your fov 110, play a skirmisher since u play more aggressive or loba if u still want support. u don't need to retreat to heal, its better to take cover near ur team so ur still with them, hip fire when someone is close up, use your mic, holster ur gun more when fighting, and if ur solo q, it's best to just do what ur teammates r doing unless u know u can win a 1v3. it sucks but if u really wanna rank up, its what u gotta do.

Years ago I meet some little baby hatchlings running around on Apex and I gave them the advice to raise their FOV from 70 (which is the lowest and default setting) to 104. Years later those little hatchlings hit Diamond or Masters every season. I feel like a proud parent.

There's no way that anybody CANT reach plat with enough time.
You just need time to reach plat. Skills matter when its about diamond
As someone who has solo qued to plat I have found if you good enough you'll get there regardless of team mates they may slow you down but you will get there.
When I first started playing apex I immediately changed the FOV and I’m on PlayStation. He is also running in with double energy and no ammo lol.
Tbh even if your mates are throwing plat will be the minimum rank to reach as a solo q player. Im on mnk and my aim is average at best but Im still managing to reach plat if I keep playing. It really comes to your own experience + game sense like taking angles or give mates cover fire
From bronze through diamond you can’t rely on randoms. I agree it’s really your own skill to a point and then the -75 just kills your rank.
The skill level and aggressiveness of players back in the period around S4 and when Arenas existed are vastly different from now. Back then, you can grind your way up in rank eventually. Especially near the end of the season when actual Plat and above players return to their true ranking. Silver and Gold lobbies became less skilled. So even if you are a Silver or Gold in skill level, you can eventually grind your way up to Plat in the end.

One time in i think season 6, or whenever map room was added to kings canyon, i was in a ranked match with my friend and a random. I died literally next to a respawn, came back less 30 seconds after death, and my random still decided to steal all my loot from my box. So i waited till we were holding inside in end game. There was a team on the wall of repulsor shooting down at us, so i opened the door he was sitting on, punched him out and closed it behind him. I am also very capable of being a psycho in apex

As a low bronze player, I felt at home watching this gameplay
something i noticed about lower ranked lobbies is tht most of them dont try to take any advantages in fights and they all seem to lack urgency the lifeline played tht well at then end keeping height and not dropping but the enemy team didnt play tht great they could have sent it when horizon ulted but they didnt hs movement feels clunky and not just because he doesnt put his weapon away but his movement feels very clunky in general and the rotations arent have no rhyme or reason to them a lot of tht can be fixed by just communicating and one thing i learned from when i was stuck in lower ranked lobbies in lik season 3 is tht u gotta be able to carry sometimes and the only way to do tht is go to the range and hot drop in pubs and put urself if situations where u have to perform well i hit diamond a few times and my frist times hitting masters was season 11 15 and season 16 wht helped my moevemtn is tht i would go into pubs no fill and just try to stay alive as long as possible with no gun on a hot drop eventually i got good at moving and gettin to cover it also helped me play cover better i would just mess around and mess with the enemieswith movement and for me tht wa tap strafing and super glides and wht not but it didnt start lik tht but it helped me a lot then id do no fill duos (rip duos) and play tht a few times look at wht i did wrong in no fill u got no one to blame its all on u and then id do ranked and i got better and better it just took time to really learn the game too many people have too big an ego in this game hes silver but all hes gotta do if he wants to climb is to grind to get his movement and aim better and play ranked to get his game sense up there he can just play the bot lobbies and get good at movement

To be honest, low platinum is easy to reach solo q if you got the battle royal fundamentals. Everyone starts as a rookie, so don't be disheartened to get told to work harder. First step is to ditch the ego, and take all the advices you can get. Incorporate them into refining your gameplay at your own pace. It is how one improves. Ego will just impede your progress and stagnate your development (wasting your potential especially if you are still young). The fov in the video is simply no good for a fast pace shooter like apex, it's better to adjust it a little higher to improve awareness of your surrounding better.
And... you might want to switch to a legend that suits your playstyle more or you can tough it out the "solo q" way by adapting to your teammates, which means you won't be the initiator in most fight with average less damage output than usual unless you are using high mobility legend. So, just my opinions. The rest you will have to figure out your weakness and improve.

Thank lord I got over the mindset that I should "deserve" the rank I want and got myself to plat through blood, sweat and tears (figuratively) last season.
S17 really made the unaware as to how good people actually are.
A silver who thinks he deserves plat, actually may deserve it only if he just started the game. When I started to play Apex, I did get a silver immediately. Next season I got gold, and after that I got plat really fast. Silver is actually really easy to go through. So if he can't pass it after a while, he is actually doesn't deserve to try higher rank and ruin others games.
As a former masters, current diamond, this was painful to watch.

So I've hit plat every season and then switch to pubs since pubs is easier at that point on console for my skill level. This guy is silver or gold at best. I play with 105 fov on console. This guy should work on changing that and get used to it so he has more vision. He also needs to judge his teammates better. They weren't terrible and he acted like a pred/masters/diamond overextending early on. He probably hot drops almost every ranked game and gets mad at his teammates that lost the loot pool and didn't get a gun.
As a multi time plat player on PC solo queuing. This guys current rank is just fine and I'm only 5 mins into the video.

I used to be diamond but after the big ranked changes for S14 happened, i can barely get into Plat no matter what i do
For me whenever i play low level ranked like bronze or silver i just dont care that much about my teammates. I never expect them to be good at the game. If they are good, thats a plus but if they are bad then its fine. Its bronze/silver after all we got nothing to lose so just have fun🤷🏻♂️👍🏼

i just hit plat today, decison making skills were not there. Something that tipped me off early on is the way he throws grenades they have range for a reason, and he easily wouldnt have died for it if he stood back and arced it. He also just chucks grenades, which wont exactly be as effective as thinking for a second, He uses his abilities "fine" but not anything crazy. His lack of cover use is a big one I think someone put it so funnily when they said think of cover like the bat suit without it youre dead. I think when it came to key moments he made bad calls when his teammates seemed to be doing fine. This guy could use a couple videos on fundementals. I agree with boom and kandy when they called him "ballsy". Think of apex gameplay like the difference between arrogance and confidence. Confidence means you acklowledge that you have strengths but arrogance is when you overplay your part and think you can do more than you should be. hes playing lifeline, I play with a conduit/newcastle main, so when I say its vital that the healer is the one should be staying alive I know how it is. A healer should aim to be more passive than for instance a pathfinder or rev, which he didnt do. A healer wants to be active around their team for as long as possible. He also bails on his team a fair amount which in all honesty just not a great look as a healer. Battle healer implies that you make smart decisions as a healer, at the same time and being aggressive, more often than not in this game I could see an aggressive character benefitting his gameplay. If he was forced to play as a healer he should have tried to adapt to the role. In combat I think he got very lucky, his team and him didnt hold favorable positions as much as they should. Another big one movement, you need to be moving and even on controller, his lack of slides off strafing and sometimes standing still will get anyone killed. You should always be moving outside and in combat. A massive part of apex is positioning as much as any other shooter, if you have bad positioning then you are going to lose more fights. He def looks like a silver player in basically most aspects. You need to improve in order, your overagressiveness, your positioning, your movement, your use of cover and the way you play around characters you choose. Not trying to put him down, just try getting better at these and youre sure to rise at least a couple ranks.
