Dan was but 22 years old when he played with MF. D What a talent. Details of his death and services have remained sketchy. He was living and performing in Ft. Myers Fla.

@@harryrodriguez-coll4040 Yes, he is standing in the lead trumpet spot. Like I said above usually all the cats in May's band were capable of playing lead. The 80's band with Roger Ingram, Wayne Bergeron and Peter Olstad is a good example of one of them.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BADDEST BANDS THAT FERGUSON PUT TOGETHER!!! BLOWING THE ROOF OFF OF THE PLACE....
Maynard assembled great bands that evolved throughout the years! Terrific!
Впервые услышал Фергюсона в армии 1976г.это была пластинка джаз панорама по-моему 3й выпуск -я был очарован!!!-шикарные музыканты !!!
Fantastic saxes starting at 38:00. Soprano to Bari. Matt Wallace, Chip McNeill, Sal and Curt. Mesmerizing. Awesome.
So sorry to hear that Dan died. Maynard loved him in the band. Great trumpet player obviously if he played and soloed with this group.
Fabulous!! Takes me back to the dozens of times I saw Maynard live . Brings a tear to me eye.... Thanks for posting.
Thanks for these posts. This is such a great era for the band!!
That Holton was a great horn!
Sunnybrook Ballroom with Willie Maiden - 1950s. Wow Nobody danced after the break.

Looks like Dan Miller plays lead on Cruisin for a Bluesin
Dan Miller is playing lead here not Craig Johnson.
Hard to tell with Maynard because usually, his whole section could play lead if called upon.
