Lyrics:
Do I need your arms around me?
Do I live my life for you?
Do I always feel so warm each time
I look in your eyes of blue?
Oh, oh, oh (oh, oh, oh)
Oh, oh, oh (oh, oh, oh)
Oh, oh, oh (Do I love you?)
Oh, oh, oh (Yes I love you)
Oh, oh

I’m still listening 06/02/24. Love this tune by The Ronettes. Remember them on Shindig and Hullabaloo.
I am nearly 78 years young and when I listen to this record I am 16 again, what a shame we do not get music like this anymore. the world is a sadder place now we have lost Ronnie RIP
It wouldn't be the same if they made anything like this today. The reason this hits is because it represents a place and time in history.. lovingly.
@@You_Dont_Like_My_Music Amen..very well expressed.
What ever Phil Spector did , he brought us the Ronettes, the Crystals, the Righteous Brothers, Sonny Charles , Ike and Tina Turner and The Wall of Sound. The soundtrack of my youth and my life. We always open our Christmas presents whilst playing the Christmas Album. Now my grown up daughters do as well. I’ve been listening to this sound for 60 years!!
Only Tina Turner
Phil brought spiritual to music
Seems his childhood haunted him. So sad
Phil S. was the finest record producer of the pop era , I remember him from the 1950's as 'The Teddy Bears' thence to his 'wall of sound'.
Do I Love the Ronettes... Do I Love the Sixties: beehive, teased hair, Cleopatra Eye Makeup, short skirts, all the great music - being young!
Happy days
I like it
Bouffants ,not bee hives
The Ronettes oldies but goodies
@@KatyReminiec9399 What exactly is the difference? As a 9 year old I loved their beauty innocent of other considerations but I remember being baffled at how they stayed up. My mom, who preferred the Jackie do which I thought was the bouffant would only laugh and say "We gals have to have some mystery."
Takes me straight back to being 14 . I saved my pocket money, bought this on a single and played it on our HMV Marconiphone stereogram. What days to live through!! I’ve never stopped listening since. The sensational Ronettes and The Wall of Sound.
Yes. Thank you, Phil Spector!
Okay, I admit it: A hard rock guy loves the Ronettes. Just something about them that is irresistible.
The Ronnettes songs have been covered by Rock bands .
Trust me Ronald, you were not the only rocker kid who put on his big sister or cousin's Ronettes album when the other guys weren't around.
Same man
@@susanmoran2154 Can you give some examples. I'm curious.
@@dammbleth2 well for one one on the spot, is a punk rock cover by the Ramones - "Baby I Love You"
Just heard the sad news. That amazing voice of Ronnie has entered eternal rest. We were blessed to be able to enjoy her amazing sound along with her sister and cousin. RIP Ronnie Spector.
So did I, Thomas. RIP Ronnie and thanks for the great songs. You are with your sister, Estelle now in Heaven! Neda, I off you my condolences. Please stay well. I'm also sorry to hear that Ronnie had cancer!
Omg no! 😭
One of my favorite singers in this great group... Their music will definitely live-on... Because it is timeless...
WELL, I HEARD THEY
( US MILITARY) EXECUTED MICK JAGGAR, FOR TRAFFICKING TEENS AT HIS CONCERTS FOR YEARS I THINK SHE WAS A TRAFFICKER TOO, MOST ALL A AND B MOVIE STARS SINGERS GOT EXECUTED FOR CRIMES TO HUMANITY..SAD! IF YOU SEE THEM A CGI, CLONE, ETC. USED FOR NOW. BYE BYE, BEYONCE, MADONNA, OTHERS..YOU WERE EVIL...
@@karengray8618 What the hell is this all about ? Please explain your comment so that it makes sense.
OKAY !1 THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST INTRO'S TO A SONG, EVER !! OMG, DID I RUSH OUT TO BUY THIS 45 !! I STILL HAVE IT, TOO. RIP, RONETTES --------MJL, 77 Y/O
I love how dreamlike their songs sounded.
Her voice is absolutely exquisite.
This is one of those oldies that never will see a turntable enough times. Tops "Be My Baby" any day.
I love this song so much I hate for it end. So, I just play it over and over. It touches me in a profound way!
Me too !!
My Post above explains it girl groups only lasted until the Beatles came along
AGREE
I agree
Me too - it will be always be my all-time favourite song in any genre
will never see heavenly music like this again!...glad I grew up then
Right? Me too!
What? You don't consider Justin Bieber's music heavenly?
@@daves7079 Not really, but that could just be me though lol.
@@daves7079 ha....I do not think anyone will ask to play his music 30 yrs from now
@@daves7079 This is a joke isn't it?
A song that deserves so much more airplay!
Yes .
I couldn't believe it when I found out this song only peaked at #34 on the US pop chart and #35 in the UK back in '64
Underated song for sure
@@lindaeasley5606 JFK had just passed, and it did not get the air play it needed.
Since XmRadio it's getting Alot more AIRPLAY 60son 6
Has said this Shows more Range than be my baby
My all-time favorite Ronnettes song!
Heavenly!
I love you Ronnie!
A CLASSIC!!!!
Indeed! There were singers that had pretty voices like Karen Carpenter but the intensity in the old tunes like this cannot ever be matched. So much heart & soul in her voice. Harmonies are also a must in songs of which today’s music is totally lacking substance!
Very underrated song. It is very surprising it did not chart higher. It captures the essence of Phil Spector's wall of sound.
It's actually just a little too "busy". The fill tracks tend to wash out the vocals, kind of losing the song itself. Just a bit too wall of sound for the average pop listener, which probably cost it in popularity. Had the vocals been an obvious "front track", and the fill obvious "backing", it probably would have seen similar popularity to their smash hits
I love this one too. I believe it was overshadowed by "Be My Baby" for it to have gone further on the charts. But a true Ronettes fan loves all of their music.
I @@ludditeneaderthal I agree, Ronnie forward is always better.
This would sit perfectly in the Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" album. 😍
This is my favorite Ronettes song. Heard that Ronnie Spector died..Too bad younger people don't appreciate the great music we had in our youth. RIP Ronnie. Love you.
I still do and I’m 22 🙂 my father inculcated a lot of these melodic tunes in me during my childhood days. They honestly give me a bitter sweet feeling because i take solace in these knowing it was a time like this that existed just sad I couldn’t experience it. I tie my younger days to these old tunes while looking at the clouds all dreamlike
@@theeternalnightmare2630 You had a cool dad.
you know who died.............so i came here. lol i could listen to this song for an hour straight . the bass intro. the melody....the backup singers...........60s PERFECTION
Yes I do and It sure is, an incredible mix of every ingredient to make the perfect pop record that will endure forever , certainly one of my faves of all time and one of the best intros ever !.
If this song had been released six months earlier, it would have been a huge hit. The lyrics were so simple, yet effective. The British invasion was in full swing, and the girl groups were on their way out.
This song is my fave of the Ronettes.💖 The horns, the vocals, the bell-sounding instrument is magic✨
The Ronettes have to be the best girl group ever. I also include the Crystals in my comment. I am an old rocker from the 1960's who road a 600cc Norton Dominator. The classic rock and pop from this era will never die. Love it wish I could relive the 1960's again. (I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Ronnie Spector - such a talent)
Agree with The Ronettes. Really like the Crystals but my second choice would be The Shirelles.
" Do I love you " ?
For always and forever, sweet girl. You were incomparable and irreplaceable. RIP.
The greatest Girl Group song ever.
Also Phil Spector's greatest production job. The drumming here [Hal Blaine] TREMENDOUS!
My favourite song of theirs. Earlier I listened to a documentary about Phil and Ronnie Spector . She was lucky to get out of that mess of a marriage alive.
God rest the dead I adored Ronnie Spector but be careful what you wish for you might get it she would not have given him the time of day if he had not been able to further her career she stated that when Phil's wife signed the legal separation papers at the courthouse she looked at Ronnie and laughed and walked away could this be a case of Ronnie looking for love in all the wrong wallets
I don't mean to knock her too hard because she was not the first or last person to do something like that I'm just saying you reap what you sow and she should have taken a longer look before she leaped
The very definition of the Wall of Sound by Phil Spector. 13 seconds into the song the Wall is there. Ronnie is perfect in this song and frankly it’s my favorite by them. They were the best of the girl groups of that era.
The Black girl groups of the 1960's were the Top of True Soul music of my teenage era! Great to have been there! Rick Dwayne Rumpff, Celina, Ohio USA.
This is probably the song by the Ronettes that I like the most! 😁😃
It is also mine this should have been a number 1 record and not just because of the wall of sound production Ronnie sings with such conviction this time it's not be my baby which I also love its you're going to be my baby this time just like on walking in the rain she sounds like a woman and not a teenager I have such wonderful memories of seeing the ronettes tear the stage up here in NYC they sang and shaked their asses off!!!
They were the first bad girls of rock and roll they shattered the nice girl image I know Ronnie is in heaven rockin it with the black legends and british rockers that she toured with Ronnie Do I love you?Yes I love you!!! Rock in peace!!!

Being the youngest of 8, pop radio was always on in my home back in the 60s and 70s, playing current hits of the time and oldies - I used to like this song a lot. Sorry to hear of the passing of Ronnie Spector! My condolences go out to her loved ones! Unfortunately, we are in that season of life where we will be hearing more of this time of news! Thanks for the memories!😥🌷🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹
Do I love them? Yes, I love them...

This song will be remembered for many years to come. Never will fade away!!

I absolutely love this intro and musicianship and then Ronnie's vocals and harmony. Classic!
Rest in Peace Ronnie Spector. You brought such joy to the world.

I heard a few hours ago about Ronnie's passing. Before my time, but I like some of their tunes. I read her autobio. I hope it gets made into a biopic someday. RIP. My sympathies to Nedra, the only living member now.
I love when the piano and percussion come in. Thanks Phil and the ladies.
Iconic recording of the 20th Century
Rest in peace Ronnie . At least you and the other Ronnettes can sing to the angels.
The best song they ever did.
I am amazed this song only was on Billboards Top 40 for only four weeks and only reached to the 34 position. The feeling of this song is impressive.
An underatted pop classic of the 60,s - but to me unforgotten!!- girly group heaven!!
This was when music was music. Love this song! Heaven has gained a new voice in the Choir! Our loss, Heaven's gain. RIP Ronnie❣️

The best Girl group of all time. right there with supremes and marvelite-ies.
Absolutely amazing. I'm 29 and when I was a wee dafty, (9 year old or something) I was the one out of all my mates listening to this when I went hame and slowly being turned into a person who prefers older music. There's just something about the way it tugs at the heart strings. This must of blew peoples minds back when it first came out!
Hal Blaine on drums is just gorgeous
I love this song it is so great u do not hear music like this anymore the times were great and didn't have do anything special just have fun and love and peace always remember
Wish I had grown up during this era. Love these oldies but goodies 😉💙
Yes Sandra these were the best years for me to , wish i was back in them again especially in Dublin Ireland, we all used to join up in the coffee bar area with juke box on each table

My Favorite of them all. Fabulous. The Trombones and instrumentation really make this song. Unlike anything I have heard.

Yes exactly, 0:15 sounds exactly like Heroes and Villains
