The reality is that good hardware will not make a difference between these operating systems, and weak hardware will be in favor of 7, since there are no unnecessary background processes.

@@TsunamicBug They meant that good hardware is powerful enough to where there is a nearly imperceptible differennce for gaming, and that only on weak hardware will opting for the lighter windows 7 make a significant difference.

@onlyromanian4002 That's because the game was actually only meant to work with win 10 and win 11. But Moders already patched the game to work on win7.

There's also the problem of lack of drivers for modern HW in Windows 7... or at least drivers less tested than W11. That might affect performance and stability in some scenarios and configurations.
Another problem is the lack of certain features, like DirectX12 (officially, I know "Dx12 for W7" ports exists)

idk why but i feel less input lag in windows 7 than win 10 or 11, i'm 100% sure its not just a placebo, specially when playing old fps games like csgo

if you own latest hardware i.e ryzen 5000 or intel 12th gen , then use win 11.

    • @Psionifier

You could use 10 but newer stuff are all made for 11. There's about 15% difference when it comes to multithread performance.

@@aftech2148 Don't use windows 7 in 2022 (nearly 2023) It's not worth it and there really is no reason to. It's easier to get your hands on a copy of windows 10/11, and Winows 7 is outdated in both is feature set and has hit EOL (End Of Life) meaning that Microsoft no longer supports it. There are major security vulnerabilities compared to the likes of Windows 10 and Windows 11. Most applications that haven't already dropped support for windows 7 will probably start doing so soon.

The point is - how many PC in the world are infected directly by used vulnerability of W7?) Not by single virus, backdoor, miner, or spy program. Directly this vulnerability.
And we must remember another thing) There are some vulnerabilities in W10 too, potential at least) And W10 (or 11) today is way better target, because there are many companies and business.
And the fact Microsoft works on defence is absolutely not 100% protection for all users.

I hate design W10. This is a pure cancer in graphic view, for my opinion. And boring updates too.
And I have no even antivirus programs) Only adguard and that`s all. And there was no even one threat I remember, on my PC) I scan my PC ones a year to find something at least.
And if Steam will go away from W7, I will go on the torrent, there are so many games with "no pay - go play") I need the whole life more than one - to play through all the games there)
