I've always believed that music is not something we put together, but something we receive. It's out there, all around our vast universe, waiting for the right receiver to open up and receive, and then bring it out into audible form. You may not approve of the following, but as a Christian believer I believe in the one who put it out there in the vast open. Our universe is all about order and syncronicity - beauty an grandeur; not about randomness and chaos; you've stressed on creativity, which naturally necessitates a creator, and that's the one responsible, I believe, for all that you've received and given us over the years. You've always been an outstanding receiver, Yanni, and you've just proved me very right, old pal, and for it all - a thousand thanks.
Yanni, λουλούδι μου!!! It's so gratifying to hear you speak about all your experience in the exactly moment of creating. I have no words to express how your songs move my soul. They came into me and make fly... And it's amazing... it's magic... it makes me live... You are an angel of music in this world!! And every day I ask God to protect you in your journeys. Yanni, God knows how much I enjoyed this master class...probably one of the best videos I have ever seen in TH-cam for the last 5 years...I could relate to every word you said...I 300% agree with everything you mentioned and I can't believe how great you could put the process in a system to make it explainable for others!!! Oh my God...gave me so much confident about what I knew...I was always not sure if what I have understood about music especially composition and improvisation is right or wrong but watching this video more than anything gave me confident to follow the right direction!

I've been listening to Yanni since i was a little girl..My mother used to put me to sleep with his music back then... His music was and still is a magic journey for me!! I am now doing the song writing and pre production of my own music.. I was really frustrated because 3 months had past and I couldn't finish that song.. 3months.. not a single vocal line.. And then I found this video!! It moved me deeply!The next day I woke up and finished that song!Thank you my friend!!! Thank you for everything you've done for me.. For all the journeys and the inspiration that you've given us!!!

I watched a huge number of videos Yanni talking, explaining his process of creation over years but I can easily say that this was the best Yanni video I have ever watched. Getting insights of his creative process this detailed is especially important for me because Yanni has great influence on me. My creative process while I create a piece of music is pretty much the same as he describes. I would like to thank Yanni for creating those magical pieces, my favorite being "the Rain Must Fall", being an incredible influence in my musical life and finally making this video. This video and what Yanni narrated about the making of Nostalgia really touched my heart. Thank you YANNI.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom. It is so true! Whether I am writing a song, or mixing music, I have a hard time getting into the creative "zone". Once I'm in it, I avoid am afraid to stop working because I can't get back in. I even skip meals and stay awake late into the morning if things are going well.
I will try your advice and perhaps someday I will be able to enter the zone when I like. Peace.
