The perfect example of a time when they still knew how to build cars with a soul. No contemporary car can even come close. Thank you. This made my day :)
There are 3 Ferrari models that take my breath away. This is one of them. I wouldnt have guessed that I'd like this color combination as much as I do. But I love it! Gorgeous automobile!!!
My goodness what a beautiful work of art and what a spectacular noise. This has always been my grail Ferrari, even when friends had the Testarossa pictures on their wall I had the Daytona. A wonderful presentation of a stunning car. Gorgeous Patek Phillipe too.
I was accelerating hard down a freeway on-ramp in my Ferrari 308 GT4 when there was the sound like a huge sheet of tearing canvas. It was not my gearbox shredding but the sound made by the V12 of a yellow Daytona as it sped past me like I was standing still.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this! The last comment about the engine being built so well made me laugh out loud....it brought out the child in me! 😀
This is my favorite Ferrari. I lived in Las Vegas from 1973-1974 and there was a red/orange Daytona always parked at a hotel and I adored it. I agree that is the best color I have ever seen on a Ferrari. I never saw that color before. I saw another Ferrari Daytona and it seemed to have a glass roof over the seats. I appreciate all the work you have done. You have great taste my man and a fine report on this car.
Beautiful car, wonderful presentation I will probably never own a Ferrari, never been in one but love them. My only super car outing was in a Maserati Khamsin which was lovely.
I am very envious of you Tom. That car is absolutely sublime. Those looks, that sound. The daytona always reminds me of Brigitte Bardot for some reason.
He's right ! Spending large sums of money to restore a beautiful car like the Daytona makes sense. This currently is estimated at a million dollars, I believe. Very rare, and sought after by collectors. Stunning video review ! Thank You for sharing !
A great video as always 🙂 I’d just like to say that whoever set up the in-car side view camera did a brilliant job. Being able to see a full view of you driving the car is a nice change from the typical TH-cam car vids where the camera is tight to the driver’s upper body and face. Being able to see the full interior view, the gear stick etc really makes me feel like I’m in the car with you and adds a lot to the viewing experience. Very well done And what a gorgeous car 🤤
Tom won’t need to hit the snooze button because the outrageous price he is going to ask for the car will keep him awake nights worrying he might have overplayed his hand. (I think he’s made a safe bet. Among the super-rich these days, rarity and originality are worth a huge premium on an already valuable car that seems poised for a big jump in demand among the fashionistas.)
Having had the pleasure of driving a Daytona over the Brecon Beacons a decade ago - I can vouch for need for the power steering upgrade - once up to speed it was absolutely fine, but for parking and low speed manoeuvres it was positively truck like. Glorious machines - and what a peach of an example. 👍
Tom I think your stock is amazing but you are a very smart, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It would be hard to not buy from you. I sold family cars for 25 years and had a similar mind set. I loved it. I used to feel special in a D plate Supra, with knackered tyres. Your cars look great and I like the fact you are prepared to get the cars perfect for the next owner. You should have placed more audio in the video. That Daytona sounds phenomenal.
Here we see what results if very much was done right making this car. With its power it was ahead of its time. The colour mix is very nice. As long as there are people like you to spend those amounts of money on such cars we all will be able to enjoy it at least by watching this.
What a stunningly beautiful car, and well done for presenting it so well. I've had a "thing" about Daytonas since I saw one on Prova plates in 1967 or 1968 near Modena in northern Italy. If you put a rational hat on, the there are many modern cars that are faster, have better handling and are much more economical. But it's not about being rational when thinking about a car like this. Emotions take over, which is how it should be.
Hi Tom. Came across your video having stumbled across Catchpole's mediocre review of a 365GTB/4. Congratulations on such a fantastic restoration (and video) on what I consider to be Ferrari's best road car ever. Hope you did well with the sale, as Daytona prices do not reflect the the true value of the car. Surely values are held back due to the number of examples produced, although this is not reflected in F40 (not a fan) values, a vehicle produced in similar numbers. Having one of the limited number of RHD examples I'm sure helped you in taking the plunge for the proper restoration in Modena. Having driven many of these, I realise the ongoing complaint of heavy steering, but I would leave the car as produced: the steering is perfect at speed (although parallel parking will work up a sweat!). Lack of cold air box is understandable, given the inlet noise and spectacular presentation under the bonnet (only bettered by the 365GTC/4 with it's side draft Webers, sure to stun any bystander!), but again I would opt for the factory solution. One thing you do not mention is the use of the 9" rear wheels, which were not original on the 365GTB/4, which was given 7.5" front and rear, with Michelin XWX 215/70 x 15". As I recall, the 9" wheel was introduced on the 512 BB, equipped with the newly introduced 225/70 XWX. Not a complaint, I would do the same, as they improve the handling of the car. For what it's worth, the only "standard" production road car from Ferrari that for me rivals the Daytona is the 365 GTC, a superb car which can run with the Daytona up to 100 mph, and with lighter steering as well. While the 330 GTC is outstanding (and better looking with it's side air vents), the difference in performance is incredible. Also, I think the original coachwork build quality on both the 330 GTC and the 365 GTC exceeds that of the 365GTB/4. Sorry to be so pedantic, as I am sure you know all of the above. Again, great work!
Superb presentation by all measures. Every boomers' fantasy dream car. Especially as I recall R&T testing saw 172mph. The E-Type was truly 145 out-of-the box, Bolster saw 151mph in the near contemporary DB6 Vantage by way of comparisons. It would be 20 years beyond the Daytona release the 928S4 would achieve 171mph in manual form. Daytona was mega-still is!
One of the Most Desirable Cars ever Designed . Good in the Understated Colour for an Understated Car . A Metallic Blue or Green would work too . And , of course , the SOUNDTRACK ! A magnificent Gran Turismo vehicle . What would be the Sale price on one of those these Days ? Would love a answer to that . Anyone ?
Oh, my goodness! Absolutely “unreal” - I saw one listed several years ago that was in the bronze mettalizato like this, except that the hides on that particular example were in a dark lipstick red. I agree totally that this is a great color for a Ferrari! Looks like the one you’d buy as a birthday present for your mistress (if you can afford a cherried-out 365 GTB/4, you can afford a mistress 😎🤣). Well done, Tom, and a deep, respectful bow to Leonardo Fioravanti, the man who penned it from a clean sheet of paper ❤️😎! Believe he has his own design-studio near Torino 🇮🇹, nowadays. I would take this berlinetta even over a spyder! Bravissimo 😁!
another thing I can't afford but delight in. That color is so great I had respect for the drummer until he took a red can of paint to it. I no longer respect the drummer because I think that is an amazing factory metallic bronze. I think an equally bright metal flake purple or aqua would be something that plumped me up every time I gazed at it - not that the Daytona alone doesn't do that. Spectacular F-Car and glad to see it's back to spec on color and btw - The underhood shot of the 12 webers flexing open is an incredible first for me - you got me there!
Any chance that the first owner of this car was (Prince) Nicholas von Preussen? He was a work colleague in London and I remember him buying a Daytona in about 1972, although I never saw the car nor knew what colour it was.
The perfect example of a time when they still knew how to build cars with a soul. No contemporary car can even come close. Thank you. This made my day :)
This is how you do a TH-cam car video. Pure CLASS. Well done, Tom.
Thanks Richard!
Have to say credit where it's due. The restoration and rebuild has allowed the rebirth of an absolute stunner. Great work.
The color of this car should have never been changed. What an incredible color. Well done. Beautiful.
One of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. It looks more stunning than ever in that color.
Absolutely beautiful, and well done for putting it back to its original colour. 🤎🤎🤎🤎
Not many cars look good in brown, but we couldn't resist putting this one back to its original colour.
Absolutely splendid Daytona! I've never seen a Daytona so thoroughly described and presented. Thank you!
Thanks Jonathon!
The car looks newer now than it did in 1972. Beautiful.
Restoring the original color was spot on. Truly a remarkable example of automotive genius and so well presented. Well done.
Thanks Gregg!
I was accelerating hard down a freeway on-ramp in my Ferrari 308 GT4 when there was the sound like a huge sheet of tearing canvas. It was not my gearbox shredding but the sound made by the V12 of a yellow Daytona as it sped past me like I was standing still.
What a stunning example the epitome of style
Absolute perfection on the restoration. Incredible 365 GTB.
Stunning car , beautiful interior , I loved the under bonnet shots , throttles opening up on the carbs .
What a amazing noise !
It's even better in person!
That paintwork and interior is beautiful. What a great place it must be to sit in.
It really is!
Fascinating video. That engine sounds really amazing on film , can't imagine what it's like in real life ! Superb car. Thanks for sharing 👍
Whenever you hear it on film, times it by 100 and it'll give you an idea of what it's like in real life!
This car fits you perfect, Tom.
Open trumpets...think that is a must. Another excellent video, thank you!
My absolute favorite car ... If I had to only choose 1 car forever , This is it !!
Good call!
I love the dedication and the focus on small but important details!
Gorgeous colour. Great video. Thank you Mr H.
Thanks Martin - we'll keep them coming!
If you haven't seen the film gumball rally 1976 you should, there's a red Daytona Spyder racing a cobra 427 for most of the film .
A friend of my father showed up one rainy night with this exact car when it was brand-new. Awesome car.
In the exact car? Chassis #15981
@@TomHartleyJnrLtd No just the same model and color.
Just stunning, loved the driving segment too :)
Thanks Dayno!
Totally stunning love that colour it just pops
Simply stunning, absolutely gorgeous 😍.
Couldn't agree more!
I love the sound of the V12 when he lets it go. What a fabulous car.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this! The last comment about the engine being built so well made me laugh out loud....it brought out the child in me! 😀

Tis car is absolutely beautiful. Great restoration work.
I can't believe I'm actually about to say this but how plain does it look in red after you've seen it in that colour?
A stunning colour isn't it!?
I am very envious of you Tom. That car is absolutely sublime. Those looks, that sound. The daytona always reminds me of Brigitte Bardot for some reason.
Thanks Aidan!
I love this colour combination!
Lovely car done to perfection .
Tom makes a fabulous video he is so passionate a proper gentleman ..
Fabulous - I saw this on your website, and pleased you've featured it. Beautiful spec.
How could we not! Thanks James!
Amazingly attractive color.... Can't say I have ever seen that particular color on a Ferrari before
My all time favourite car so beautiful.
Tom... Spectacular automobile just a piece of art Bravo 👏👏
Thanks Sandy!
Nice touch having a camera on the throttles, beautiful car. 👍
Thanks Lyndon!
Amazing! One of the best looking Ferraris imho. And in a fantastic color! Thank you for the video 👍
That is just stunning. The colour really shows off the line . Great work Tom. Bella macchina ❤️
Right decision on the color.
He's right ! Spending large sums of money to restore a beautiful car like the Daytona makes sense. This currently is estimated at a million dollars, I believe. Very rare, and sought after by collectors. Stunning video review ! Thank You for sharing !
Now that was a great piece on the 250 SWB.
Well done Tom and the lads, that was a pleasure to watch.
Great video Tom, the test drive was the icing on the cake! Cheers, Chris
Thanks 👍
Love it Tom! Just so you know, I drop whatever I’m doing when I see you’ve made a video, and I watch it regardless
Great to hear Richard!
Had a friend with a Mondial back in the day in the same livery. Gorgeous!
That is a gorgeous Daytona! Also really like the 5990 Nautilus you're wearing, great taste!
The longer you watch the video the more the paint appeals. Well sorted. As you say.
Besides the Framm orange cans of death, you spared no expense!
A great video as always 🙂

And what a gorgeous car 🤤
Thanks Chris - appreciate the feedback!
Just imagine getting up everyday to go and do Toms job, certainly wouldn’t be hitting that snooze button! Fantastic car, great video 👍

(I think he’s made a safe bet. This is a great channel, this gentleman knows how to present a car. Subbed
I love Daytona’s!! One day, just maybe one day I’ll win the lottery or earn enough to own one!🙏🏽 just maybe!
Having had the pleasure of driving a Daytona over the Brecon Beacons a decade ago - I can vouch for need for the power steering upgrade - once up to speed it was absolutely fine, but for parking and low speed manoeuvres it was positively truck like. I clicked the like at number 365...sorry, now 366, more to come I'm sure. Gorgeous work Tom.
Thanks Trevor!
Stunning car. We drove past you when you were filming it.
You can vouch for the noice then! 😏
Absolutely stunning beautiful restoration.
Stunning is often an overused word in the car world. This car is indeed STUNNING.
Love PP Nautilus matching this car’s design perfectly.
Fantastic colour
Tom you deserve a medal!
Beautiful and classy.
Tom I think your stock is amazing but you are a very smart, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It would be hard to not buy from you. I sold family cars for 25 years and had a similar mind set. I loved it.

You should have placed more audio in the video. That Daytona sounds phenomenal.
Really good video. The level of detail and knowledge you have is amazing. Very interesting. Thanks for making and publishing the video.
If a Genie popped out of a bottle and offered me any (street) Ferrari ever made, the Daytona would be it. Now let me find that lamp....
I can smell the car through the internet just looking at those black clocks. Wonderous.
Just beautiful.... what else can one say ...
Brilliant video, very enjoyable and educational thank you for sharing.
Our pleasure Gail - glad you enjoyed it!
Stunning example.
Really great car, sounded very good too.
Perfect colour scheme, I'd have anything other than red. (Subscribed!)
Great video, audio sorted too 👍 and what a beautifully restored car, thanks
Thanks Barrie - glad you enjoyed it!
Another excellent video....great content and informative. Looking forward to the next.
.....nice watch also.
Thanks Jeff - much appreciated!
Fantastic! What a great presentation, thank you
Beautiful color! It gives a vintage look!

As long as there are people like you to spend those amounts of money on such cars we all will be able to enjoy it at least by watching this.
Gorgeous color. Definitely the right decision.
We think so too!
I would never have thought that the F40 & Daytona were related in that sense.

Wow. Stunning and great noise
My childhood crush.
It's a shame the owners of cars like these never bloody uses them. 😩
My all time favourite Ferrari just looks the part also do like the 550 as well

Had to watch again. Just class
I never realized how similar the Ferrari Daytona and Datsun 240z side profiles were. They’re both so beautiful.
To think back in 1971, as a teenager, in Montreal these were selling for around $20,000 cad dollars! Incredible !
Beautiful. Same color - Marrone - as my '87 412.
What a lovely car! Also lovin' your PP.
