      I thought asus e410 limit is 512GB SSD?

  • @japekto2138

    This is late. But, I installed a WD 512GB PCI-E 3 x 4 NVME SSD. No problem. I then cloned the 64GB eMMC to the WD SSD. Everything showed up okay in the UEFI and Windows 11 booted up with the WD SSD as the new C: drive. I left alone the eMMC drive and use it as a backup OS drive in case something goes wrong with the WD SSD. I did go to Disk Management and took away the eMMC's assigned drive letter. That made it disappear from view in File Explorer. Plus, I disabled all bootable devices in the UEFI except for the WD SSD.

      @bugleboy5 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, quick question! Did you notice any decrease in battery life with the WD? I've done the same - Cloned my eMMC to my NVME drive and now using it as the main boot drive and the eMMC for backup. Although, I'm only using a 256gb Samsung 970 - But battery life for me has taken a hit! I find the Samsung runs hot - Leading me to believe it's sucking all the juice! Might consider swapping out to a WD drive, or something that draws less power. I could easily get close to 8 hours before, cut in half to 4 hours now, sadly!

      Even later but I installed a cheapo Kingston 500gb SSD and now I have a dual boot machine where I can boot Windows 11 off of the eMMC and boot Windows 10 off of the NVMe and use the rest of the hard drive as a shared drive between the two OS’s. It’s great

    The Asus L510MA has 2 slots for ram, what is the point of it having 2 slots if you can't solder on another 4gigs of ram?

    Nice video! saves me time to check whats upgradeable without having to open the back cover, i'm using 256 SSD OEM provided which is still low and want to upgrade the storage. its a steal for the price in India, considering i only use it for browsing and online classes for my lo. Just one question did you have to re-install the OS ? after upgrade.

    Hello! i bought this kind of laptop few days ago. This is the model: ASUS E410MA-EK1284. It has celeron 4020 1.1ghz. 4Gb Ram ddr4 2400mhz and 256gb SSD M2 and 14inch full hd display. My question is, can i upgrade RAM memory to 8gb? On their site, Asus says yes! It's upgradeable to maximum of 8gb. Also, when i open task manager --> performance --> i see there "4gb 2400 mhz" and "slots used 1 of 2". I saw your video but im wondering, what if they changed MOBO and now the ram memory is upgradeable? I relly wanna know your opinion. Thank you!

    • @ToxicNerd
      @ToxicNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, going from personal experience you can't really trust task manager, had that many times before where it says one slot available but nothing there. I don't think you are able to upgrade RAM on this one but to know for sure you would have to open laptop. These manufacturer websites are not always most reliable either. Hope this helps!!!

      @melvinocampos326 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you have to insert that everytime you're using your laptop?

    • @DosBear
      @DosBear ปีที่แล้ว

      No, but I use mine alot. I generally unplug it unless I want to use it to free up space on my lap or if I want to access files on it. It is a harddrive so does make a bit of noise and heats up a bit. It's also best to transfer what you may want to watch back on to your PC. As vid files run much better if directly on the lap. When you purchase a 2TB, be aware that it's actually 1.5 TB approx.
