Hey Dale, thanks for the video here! Super informative. Real quick - just wanted to mention these were factory seconds which were purchased. The leather too is super unique. The tannery did wax/oil these a bit more and due to the leather texture of this particular run, it did come out a bit darker than first seen. Definitely a unique leather the way its texture absorbs the oils and waxes in the tanning process. Many thanks!

I had the same experience as you. I have last years version as well. As you said, that version is very much like a tan suede. A bit of nap to it and not waxy at all. Also agree with you on the sizing. Have a 9 in the Moose, and they do fit best with a thicker sock. I go 8.5 on the dressier leathers that I will be wearing thinner socks with. Very on the fence as to whether to get this offering. It really does look like a different boot. I really need to unfollow you before I go broke. I already have GS garnet shells and Parkhurst navy calf on order thanks to you.

oh man congrats on the garnet shell and the navy calf, both are absolutely tremendous pickups!!!! thanks for corroborating my sizing advice : )

CF Stead sell a leather they call Unicorn. Unicorn leather is Scandinavian Elk crust leather that was discovered in a store room at the tannery and was originally tanned in the 1970s.
I believe Stead dye the leather in a few colours and give it a waxed finish so I don't think this is a natural colour.
I have a pair of Meermin boots that look a very similar shade to these and they call it "Ridge" Unicorn leather.
The boots I have are lighter than that shown online.

Moose? Hmmmm...I like...but they do look, as if they are completely dried out. Like they really need to be conditioned. Nice video...thanks for posting. I have never seen or heard of moose used as boot leather. Thanks again.

Hi Dale, been watching your videos for a long time now. I recently watched your video on the grant stone coast sneaker you did, and I decided to buy some for myself in saddle tan veg. I love them, but unfortunately they don't fit me. They're brand new size 9D, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in them because I think 9D is your size in those sneakers.

Dale, from the looks of it, the welt is very messy. I don't own any PH boots but I do own several pairs of Grant Stone and Thursday's. For the price, I would not say that the welt is similar to the GS boots. IMO, they are on par with Thursday's but they charge a heck of a lot more than Thursday. just my opinion though.

I can assure you the Parkhurst boot is a way nicer boot than a Thursday boot.

Hey man! You’re right and for this reason they were seconds. All my Parkhurst boots made in Spain at standard full price are easily worth 30% more than what they charge

I like how you literally copied bootlosophy’s title “moose is loose” on his video review of the same boot.
