I am getting this as my first "racing game," i have seen gameplay of this and also reviews about the base game and expansions. This game is for those who can embrace the chaos for the fun experience that people will talk about later and from what reviews i have seen, the expansions for this game are a must that elevate the experience as a whole
I have the retail version and both plays I've had with it have been fantastic. I'm backing this at the Tina's DotD level for the expansions and will give my retail edition to my daughter.
Remember when they sold Return to Dark Tower with an animatronic, Bluetooth connected, app controlled tower for $125? Pepperidge Farms remembers...damn prices are getting crazy.
As someone who owns the base game I honestly think the online reviews have done it a disservice. It's a really fun game and well worth just getting the base. Sure the extra content would be fun but for the type of game it is I don't think it's a must have.
I'm gonna back this one. Sad I didn't pick it up at GenCon. I have not heard sroo many negatives about this one and seems like you could get anyone to play!
I played veiled fate last week the deluxe version. I even won surprisingly lol. I thought it was just ok. Glad I did not buy it. That said it’s hard to say what works for you and your group. It was not a bad group experience. Pleasant is probably the best work I could use for it and at times like well I have no chance. It is unique for sure.

@@ryanlohman4922 I was also looking for a high player count games as well, my choice was Last light with the new expansion that makes it a 8 player 4x game that plays in 1-2 hrs.
I have the retail and i love it. I'd love some of the expansion content but not all the stuff. I think we'd have to be well sick of the road warrior gameplay before we'd play the arena game. I think theyve done a good job adding the arena without overcomplicating the rules. However thats because i already know the core rules. I wouldnt dream of introducing the game to someone with the carnival. Plus, more people wanna play the mad max style highway combat game I reckon. Sure the extra content might add longevity to the game, but i question if the game will come out enough to wear out its welcome in the first place. Personally i cant justify the price difference between the base game and all in as i could buy 2 to 4 more games instead. Get the base game man!
Based on how the first campaign went, some of the expansions are impossible to get at retail and second hand is atrocious, however, it can be purchased directly from restoration games… if it’s even in stock there. Their price will match that of the second campaign for each expansion/base but will have lower shipping if purchased directly from them to the US (dunno about other countries). the stretch goals basically make it about even and don’t have to worry about the headache of trying to find it. Just depends what retailers pick up and if you can snag a copy at the discount plus the freebie expansion from the ks if you want it.

@@BadatBoardgames I felt that there was minimal strategy. I love chaos and all but both games I played felt like everything was determined by dice rolls. It was just a random chaotic mess
@@BadatBoardgames I liked the direction the expansion was going but it still suffered from the same problem the racing map did, everything is just too random.
I am not backing it. It is too expensive for the experience and you have to go maximum chrome to be able to actually have the game played. With the pricing and shipping it goes over 200$ which is a price I am willing to pay only for the games that I am sure that I will love. This feels more like a filler game that would be played from time to time. FOMO got to me, and I was thinking to back it seriously, but then I've seen the games that I play GWT, Arnak, Clank, Nemesis, Dune, etc and I said I "would I rather spend 200$ on this game or buy 3 of those games?"and the answer was obvious.

@@martysmovies7892 Maybe, but then again if someone wants to take the base game it would be cheaper and faster to get it on retail. I haven't played the game so I would not know, but on the first glance a 80$ retail game should have included chop shop expansion and the ramps to make the game more interesting and little bit different.
@@adukovskiTotally agree people should get it at retail. That's how I bought it! As far as I can see its $60. The thing that bothers me the most to be honest is they made a 5 player game but put the 5th player in a $40 expansion!

It’s between this and veiled fate for me. Veiled fate plays up to 8 players which is very appealing to me.

The game is great. Shipping is a little high for returning backers who just need the expansion.
