Thank you for this sweet story. I'm a senior citizen now, but this reminded me of my "Monday Coffee Clatch" as we called them in my day. I waitressed my way through school as a young mom, I was the only waitress who loved those old guys, I like to think I made a bit of a difference in their lives by showing I cared, listening, and showing compassion, I know after 40 years, they still are alive in my memories as they made a big impact on my life, I will never forget them So, thank you for a beautiful story and great trip down memory lane.

It pains me to see young people mistreating the elderly. I'm 29 but somehow I get along very well with the elderly. I also get smiles from time to time and I like it when they say dear you are looking pretty :) makes me day. The smiles are priceless

I used to work at a cafe' where an older customer named Jack visited frequently. He and I had a relationship similar to the one Ashley had with the Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club. He used to order a side of bacon to go, for his dog. I was the pie baker and one day he asked if I could make a chocolate pie like his mom made. I told him I would experiment until I got it to taste like hers. Each week for three weeks he bought a chocolate pie I created. The third week he tasted it and got a huge smile on his face. He said it tasted just like hers. 🤗 I was so happy. I named it Jack's Chocolate Pie and I still use that recipe when I make chocolate pie.. Week by week we noticed Jack wasn't looking very good and his visits got fewer and fewer. Then we stopped seeing him. We had no contact info for him. I went on vacation and when I got back the owner pulled me aside and told me she found out he had passed away. I cried. It still makes me sad when I see chocolate pie.
But you were put on his path to bless him. 😘

Excellent movie! I am 72 and there are few movies I can relate to so well! This movie is for any age!
I found that an excellent and very thought-provoking short film. If I’ve read the credits right, then a special kudos goes to both waitresses - the lead actress/waitress was charming and believable and the second waitress was the person who actually wrote the whole thing. Brilliant. Many others deserve kudos too but, among them, the genial and understanding coffee-shop owner deserves a mention. What more can I say than that I’d readily watch anything more this group writes and produces. Thanks everyone.

My Grandma, at age 98 said something i will always remember, "The only problem with living to 98, is that you will outlive all of your friends/family.. There will always be other people to chat with, but those who are able to correct your stories if you don't remember the details will be gone.." This story brought back many memories of my grandma..
I was a waitress for many years, while working my way through school-really brings back memories. I had special customers, “regulars” I looked forward to seeing, who’d become my friends too…just like in the movie.
Glad I’m going “home” soon-about a month left … to many reunions.

This is a good movie. I appreciate the NICE older folks. If they're grumpy, that's one thing but when they're downright nasty a cause a great deal of pain then those are the ones to stay away from. These old guys were harmless and I would have loved to sit and learn from them.
I can relate to what you wrote here, but sometimes the nastiness and anger are due to the hurt they feel inside for one reason or another. A lot of it is from loneliness and the realization of their mortality, that one day they won't be here any more and wondering if anyone will miss them.
me too!... I work with 120 older people at a residence and most are really nice but the nasty ones are so evil at times... they are just who they are and as they age they get worse. Human nature is not necessarily always nice.

I enjoy several things about this movie, and it's good that it's now more widely available. Thanks for sharing it!! (and having only short ads) TCT (total christian television), a regional TV station, broadcasts it occasionally. Nowadays, you can watch -- online -- either ... 1) their regular channel, which plays feature length movies and shorts like this one (in addition to their more "talk" programming), OR .. 2) their TCT-Kids channel, which has some very nice stuff on it also. Depending on what you like. Getting back to this movie (47 min. short film), among other things appreciated about it -- background music is quite good, and fits perfectly. Some good camera angles (well photographed), and "Megan" (Stacey Bradshaw) was very likeable as one of the main characters. She helped to make it believable, IMHO. I really like how this film does not feel rushed. The filmmakers let the viewer enjoy the scenery, and soak things in, at their leisure. (don't try to "force focus" the viewer, but let their minds meander as they might want to.) This movie has a very good feeling to it. Including, a sense of belonging and acceptance. My words can't do much justice to it (the overall effect, that is). Thanks again for sharing it.
