I thought it was the original Monkey, but I was wrong, this one take up too much space and weigh too much. I'm going for the original when I buy one again.
Congrats and Rad Bike! I too am starting RTW trip, was heading to AU, but since I'm 99% sure Itchy is going there, no point in same time as a rookie channel lol so I'm heading from Calif. To Argentina first I believe...cheers, hope to meet up on the road.. please suggest or do a video on your mic helmet kit, film equip. And everything you packed! ❤ MotoCoco
Hello 😁 enjoy your awesome trip 🌍. If you have a little look through my videos I have got one about the kit and filming style I use 😉. Hope that helps ride safe 👍
Lovely jubbly, all set! 👍 On the subject of stocking your panniers dude, I strongly suggest that rather than thinking along the lines of, such and such one side and clothes in the other? That you actually weigh out each side so they are as close to equal in weight as possible. Also taking into account that you have ‘X’ amount in weight of fuel on the right hand pannier, so if it’s say, 5ltr Jerry? That’s 5kg already to add to the right side before you fill the pannier! Sounds obvious maybe, but many overlook this and it makes a huge difference over hundreds or thousands of miles. Every ounce really does and will count! Remembering the bike is only 125cc, weighs 107kg, which doubles as soon as you sit on it. Empty panniers + racking all adds up before you fill them. Potentially, that 125 could be pulling along 250kg! 🤔 I really would be interested to hear what it actually does weight fully loaded and I’d strongly suggest you try it and ride it fully loaded before you set sail buddy. 👍 Regards, Dazza. 🇬🇧
Get a Sprint Filter Off Axis for your intake (They are water proof) Go 1 cooler in your spark plug as it will run leaner. Get a Takewaga catch can so your breather doesn’t clog. I hope your run 15/36 sprocket for best setup for what you have done.
Pants bag for sure! Survival kits are so overrated. ;-) Safe travels Mr. HH. Oh BTW are you taking the Chunnel or is the Ashworth Monkey going on its first sea adventure? One more if I may, regarding security, I know a big ol' chain and lock is not advisable for a round the world trip, but what will you use (if anything) to secure the 'Ashworth Monkey' ?
Hello Neil 😁 I am taking the Chunnel as the weather can be a bit rubbish for the sea this time of year. For security I will take a medium size bike chain and front disk lock 🔒. Hopefully that will keep it safe 🤞
just a thought, you may want to consider a light coloured helmet once you get to the hotter countries your head is going to roast in a black one. I know here in Australia hot a screaming hot day wife complains how awful it is with her matt black Shoei GT Air 1 yet my mostly white one has no such issues in the sun, The same would go with your leather jacket as much as I love my EngineHawk Hawkeye UV it is soooo uncomfortable in the sun on anything over 30 C on a cool day its great but on a HOT sunny day .... with a black helmet and black jacket and limited water supply you would not want to end up super dehydrated and heat stroke. Obviously you would have the option of taking your jacket off but then you would have no protection if you come off if you come off. On a hot day sitting at the lights in the full sun with minimal airflow you can still feel the cooling effect and it gets no where near as sweety and yuck I just brought a Komine JK-150 summer mesh adventure jacket and on HOT 38 deg + day its sort of feels like it has active cooling or riding in just a t shirt but you feel/are protected. The KJ-150 while it has the rain insert and thermal like it may not be ideal for what your doing. A light coloured jacket will help and remember being from the UK you will feel the heat more than someone like me. I'll be posting a review on the Komine JK-150 soon on my channel. That fuel container has me a tad concerned if you do come off and slide it could leak and your hot exhaust is right there. One thing you could do is to get someone fold up an aluminium shield for the corner bits that are likely to contact the ground and hold it on with some of that 3M super double sided tape.... I cant think of anywhere else you could put it. Still I am looking forward to seeing your adventures... actually living the life and not just talking about it.
Thank for watching please share the video 🕺👍
Hat is of again 🤠 the world awaits you.

Yeah I already watched your trip, but how many miles did you ride in total ?

I’ve got a feeling that fuel can is gonna come in very handy.
Yes, I would get a real air filter is doing any dusty roads....great video.
Thanks
Sounds like your set HH.
Ready to roll 👍
I see that you tried my way of getting on the wrong side when you have panniers fitted. After a few times, it's quite easy.
Yep you were right it’s definitely easier! I’ve now got to train myself to keep doing it 🤞🤣
@Helmet Head Leigh thinks I'm mad, but it works for me, especially cus I've got wonky legs that don't work properly 😆
Mentioned it many many times, who get on/off high side. It just looked so wrong.
You will do it!
Monkey or Grom? What would make the best base for an adventure bike? And why?

Cut the intro length mate
Bloody hate 4x4's on country roads 🤬😡😤
I know the Ashworth Overlander is a beast and will take on any off road going. So I’m think the 4x4 guy was scared 🤣
Hope you have a good chain because you are looking over weight for that little monkey 🐒
It’s got a heavy duty chain but if your interested in seeing all the mods check this out - th-cam.com/video/MrkpeHpv6bQ/w-d-xo.html
