Ironically my poodle doesn’t know how to poodle and is a daycare dog… he adores children and is so happy to cuddle the tiny humans. One time we couldn’t find him, until we noticed a pillow in with the three baby babies, it was the poodle… apparently he deemed the room too cold and had opted to keep the tiny babies warm. He is the sweetest dog, people get so confused that he is a poodle, especially given he doesn’t yap.
My former dog (who recently passed away, she was a sweet girl) was half poodle half wholnowswhat. She was so cute and lovely, I think every dog has their personality which can go against the "generally adopted" and characteristic one of the race 🥺❤️
I work at a dog boarding facility and the Beagle had me CRYING! We have a Beagle that's a frequent boarding dog, and every time she's out in the play yard, all the clients coming in ask if the dog they can hear is ok 🤣🤣😅😅

I honestly don’t get his takes on labs being dumb & lazy. Labs are a sporting breed, have lots of energy, super friendly, & are highly intelligent. They are guide dogs, medical assistance dogs, drug & explosives detection dogs, & of course awesome family dogs. I’ve had several over the years & have known even more. There are no dumb dogs, just dumb owners who haven’t put in the work to train them, which labs happen b highly trainable.

My cairn would say life is about chasing and killing vermin - mice, squirrels, rabbits, etc. At 7 mice and a baby rabbit she's living her best life. BUT things that come out of the refrigerator to eat are pretty good too!

Labs are a sporting breed, have lots of energy, super friendly, & are highly intelligent. They are guide dogs, medical dogs, drug & explosives detection dogs, & awesome family dogs. They are highly trainable eager to please, better behaved than some children. As an owner u just have to put in the effort to harness their energy.
I had an Australian Shepherd and Chow mix...she was the sweetest dog, to her family. She was wary of everyone else. Also she would herd me to the door when she needed to go out. ❤

Luckily for me, he was so weirded out by the crutches, the new sounds and my altered gait while recovering, there was no danger of knocking me over. He's old and quite blind and deaf, so that may have helped 😂 Just focus on getting well and remember how ECSTATIC your baby will be to see you again after the holiday with the grandparents.

A former neighbor had a beagle that sounded like it was being murdered when the teen kid carried it back home (it had a penchant for finding ways to get over the fence). One day, the dog was waiting happily outside its gate when I came home from work. He was so proud of the giant bone he "found". I opened the neighbor's gate & let the dog back in.
My poodle is the complete opposite of this. She loves kids and gets so excited to see her favorite toddler. Maybe cause she’s a standard poodle, not a toy poodle?
I've always had standard poodles (due to allergies) and with one exception, they've all been great with kids. That one exception was a pretty assertive dog who pretty much wanted to walk all over anyone he came into contact with, so it wasn't a good idea to leave him unattended with anybody smaller than him. (And he was BIG for a poodle, like 80 lbs of solid muscle. He had siblings who ran the Iditarod before they banned non-sledding breeds.) All the rest have been total cuddlebug dorks.

My late one left a butterfly shaped hole in my heart that has never been mended (even by other dogs) they are THE ultimate breed imo. Mine was so incredibly intelligent he has spoiled me for all other dogs. He was sensitive too and always noticed things. 🦋🐕 They are cuter than Pomeranians too.
