    💲 NEED FINANCIAL ADVICE? 💲
    1) Google "fee-only financial adviser" or visit www.NAPFA.org (largest association of fee-only financial advisers). NOT an affiliate link
    2) The first question to ask any financial adviser is, "Are you a fiduciary to me 100% of the time". Get the answer in writing
    3) Please note that some people call themselves "fee-based". This is NOT the same as fee-only. Fee-only advisers have committed to being fiduciary to you 100% of the time.
    4) Personally, I would only hire an adviser who is a fiduciary to me 100% of the time. This is not a suggestion on what you should do. Just sharing my personal preference.
    ⚠️ Azul's "Scammer" Warning ➡ PLEASE READ! ⚠️
Be careful of scammers. In the comments section, I will NEVER ask you to contact me, offer any investment products, recommend a stock broker, or anything similar. Some scam bot commenters 'ask' for investment help, and later, other comment bots reply with "how great X idea/investment/person is" in the replies. These are scam threads. Do not fall for them.
🚨 Azul's VIDEOS ARE NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE (Disclaimer) 🚨
This information is only provided as an informational resource and should not be viewed as investment advice or recommendations. To get professional financial advice from a fee-only financial advisor near you, please visit www.napfa.org.
The decisions on how to invest, when to retire, and other financial planning topics are some of the most important financial decisions you will make in your life. I urge you to seek professional financial advice as you make this decision. Ideally, from a financial adviser, AND a CPA AND an attorney. Having the perspective of all three professions will help you make the right decision for you and your family.
This information is being presented without consideration of the investment objectives, risk tolerance, or financial circumstances of any specific investor and may NOT be suitable for all investors.
This information is NOT intended to, and should NOT, form a primary basis for any investment decision that you may make. Always consult your own legal, tax, and/or investment advisor before making any investment/tax/estate/financial planning considerations or decisions.
Spoiler Alert: There are no "get rich" programs. Rather, just basic blocking & tackling and putting in time and care. Do your homework, choose wisely and (IMHO) work with experienced professionals who are fiduciary to you 100% of the time.

I retired in May of 2022 at 62 1/2 years old in good health, and 7 months later they found I had kidney cancer. I was blessed, as they were able to get it all by removing my kidney, but nothing makes you appreciate life like facing your own mortality. I am so glad I retired when I did, and I haven't looked back. Time and life are precious, retire as soon as you can.

The timeless tale of the guy who finally retires then drops dead shortly thereafter is the fate I had no intention of realizing. Retiring at 57 was one of my best decisions ever.
So in my case this video was “preaching to the choir”. I hope the message reaches as many as possible.

You can expect to live to 80 to 85 if you have reached your 60th birthday. This is based on reasonable health (no current fatal diseases). Right out of the insurance longevity tables. Your lifespan has relatively nothing to do with your parents lifespan. Best to plan for 85.

Ideally, advisors are reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since 2020, just after the pandemic to date. We've been planning early retirement since our early 20's. Save, invested, kept a modest lifestyle. Now in our late 40's and I know I'm ready for the next phase of life and the numbers back it up.

Azul, as always you provide a great perspective for people to noodle on.
I retired at 57, 7 years ago. My wife and I saved and invested early allowing me to exit the workforce when I did.
The key message I would communicate to others is don't delay retirement if you have the financial wherewithal to do so. Too often I have seen many people delay retirement and then experience health issues which constrain the very things they wanted to do post-retirement.
The most significant benefit of retirement for me is that I no longer have to deal with people I do not want to. That has proved to be the ultimate blessing.

I'm 63, retired, and I've had my money in S&P 500 funds (100% stock) since I started investing. I have made a great deal of money with my FA Kathie and I see no reason to change. The S&P 500 has made an average of 9.8% returns over the past 100 years. International and Bond funds are losers in my opinion because they don't make much money. This is just my amateur opinion which may not work for everyone.

If you have that "base" amount of money needed to retire, than I can't argue against doing so. That said, the majority of people these days have very little in their retirement funds, and what does one do at 50 years old if they are broke? The answer is work until the end.

As far as experiences are concerned, when my spouse retires next year, I'm going to 4 days per week and I have 8 weeks paid time off plus 2 weeks sick/holiday so travel time will not be a problem.
